I work for the above mentioned company. I am paid minimum wage meaning that if they could pay me less they would! I am NOT paid for the number of calls I make. Believe me if I were I'd be raking in the money hand over fist. I am paid minimum wage and paid a 1% commission for every donation dollar I bring in. It's not easy doing this but the bottom line is that anyone out there who is working they're doing it for SURVIVAL!
It's called putting food on the table for your family. It's called taking care of your families needs. I am sorry if for that 20 seconds of your life we bothered you. There are ways you can now block the number from calling you. If we or anyone else calls you at dinner time which most of you seem to have at 3:30 in the afternoon then you know what? Let the answer machine pick it up. Let it go to voice mail. This is the 21st century after all and we don't want to talk to you anymore than you want to answer the phone to us. Please don't answer the phone. Block our numbers. This way we can go on to making a living and providing for our families much the same way you do and we can do while talking with people who want to help others. Not people are just going to be jerks!

I work for Charitable Resource Foundation. The way it works is, we call on behalf of one of three different organizations, or charities if you will. These charities are the Kids Wish Network, the American Homeless Veterans, and the Children's Cancer Fund of America. You could call us a "middleman". We call FOR these charities to help raise money for legit organizations. Each of these charities has their own website, and the Charitable Resource Foundation has their own website. You can visit them each below.

Kids Wish Network:
www.kidswishnetwork.org

American Homeless Veterans:
www.vetsvision.org

Children's Cancer Fund of America:
www.ccfoa.org

Charitable Resource Foundation:
http://crf-inc.com/

You can visit all of these sites and understand exactly how it works. Honestly, when peole complain and assume this is a scam because of someone else's words, it makes the employee's job harder and also takes away from the children with cancer, life threatening illnesses, and the fallen veterans who are homeless. Speak with knowledge and not assumptions. Read the great reviews about what these charities have done, then base your opinion on your own and not other's. I hope someone will take my advice and realize that this is no scam!

P.S. CRF is a not-for-profit business

Just called "Patty" at the "Charitable Resource Foundation" (800) 242-5062. She was very polite and said my number would be taken off their calling list by "the end of the day".

I read the comments on this website, because I keep getting calls from this number.  So I followed their suggestion (the Charitable Resources Foundation mentioned above) to call for Patty.  She was out for the day, but a very cheery and friendly guy said he would be happy to take me off the call list, and that it would take a couple of days.  Hopefully, it will end.
Here's the number I called:

My 85 yo mother was just called by them.  The guy told her she had made a pledge but had not yet paid.  She didn't remember making a pledge.  She told him to send her an envelope.  He said they didn't do that.  She replied that she doesn't respond to telephone solicitations.  She's supposed to be on the no call list.  My dad and brother were career Army officers.  Can't something be done about people who are sleezy while implying they are working for our military veterans?

I get these calls nightly and they hang up.  I try to call them back, it is either busy or it just rings. I left a message for the veterans disability people to call me back otherwise I will not ever consider donating to this organization. The crazy thing is, I never have donated to this organization and I renew my caller block.  No wonder our verterans can not get good care with incompetent organizations like this. If you really want to help people do not enlist the robo call especially when it hangs up on everyone that answers.

Pitiful!

People who use these tactics to "earn" money are ruining 800 service for legit business.  We no longer answer the phone when we see an 800 or similar number on our caller ID.  Nothing else seems to work.  We're on the do not call list, I've asked people at this number to take us off their list, I've even emailed their contact info on their web site and they still call.  Where's Tom Mabe when we need him?

This call is daily and I decided to answer it. After saying hello 3 times, finally a girl came on and called me by name and wanted a 20 dollar donation for children with cancer, I think she said she was with CRF (she spoke too fast).  Charities are all fine but not thru repetitive annoying harrassing phone calls.  I'm on the National Do Not Call list, but since Charities are exempt they can still call.  I told her kindly to take my number of her list, she wasn't so nice after that.  I hung up....annoyed again.

Yo Frank if you're homeless then why are you on a computer? I completely agree with Ga-girl. Get off your butt and work!!! MY mother in law battled breast and liver cancer for 8 years. She got chemo and radiation and STILL WORKED EVERY WEEK DAY! She passed last year. She's my hero because SHE DIDN'T LEACH off of ANYBODY and kept her own. Now stop being lazy and playing the poor me game and work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got a call from these people today. I answered because I thought it might have been Sears calling me to tell me my item was ready for pick-up. I will be calling Patty Monday to have me removed.

I have previously worked with CRF. The charities that they represent, as far as I can tell, are legit. However, if you donate through CRF only a small percentage will go to the charity. They will not volunteer this information unless the person asks. It is a business so they have to do this to survive, they have to pay the telephone bills, etc. However, it is VERY shady. If you happen to answer the phone when a person calls you you can ask to be taken off the list and they have to do it.

Also, they won't send anything out in the mail unless you commit to a pledge. So if you receive something in the mail that means they made you commit to AT LEAST a $10 pledge. You are obviously not obligated to pay it though. They will however keep calling you.

Good luck!

(the charities they are currently doing: Kids Wish Network, American Homeless Veterans, & something Children's Cancer..?)

I currently work for CRF. The charities that they call for are legit. As for those of you who think that the do-not-call list keeps you off all the lists are crazy. non-for-profit and charitable organizations are exempt from this list unfortunately. The charities pay CRF to call for them so they can focus on the charity itself. If you pick up the phone and tell them to take you off the list they have to.They do not send out packets unless you say that you will donate at least $10...
As for those of you raggin franks a**.... i bet neither one of you have served our country, suffered the effects of war, and had to deal with it all on your own so until then keep your comments to yourself... everyone has their own seperate situations they had to come home to. Kick A** Frank and thanks for serving our country!!

I currently work for CRF. They are 100% legit as far as the fundraising goes. If you donate for the AHV (American Homeless Veterans) 67% will actually go towards the Vets. If you donate for the KWN (Kids Wish Network) only 12% will actually go to the children. You don't have to tell me I am aware that 12% is very shady. CRF does AHV, KWN, CCD (Childrens Cancer Dream), APSA (American Police and Sherrifs Association). If you ever plan on donating to a charity through CRF or any other organization always ask what percentage actually goes towards the cause. If you don't want to be bothered by CRF tell them to put you on the Do Not Call list...by law they have to code the call as a never call. Don't be mad at the CRF employees though...it is their job to keep rebuttling you until they get a pledge. We sit there and read a script off a screen that says...say this if the person says yes or say this if the person says no. We're paid to be persistant. Depending on what a CRF employees sales are determines how big of a bonus they're going to get for that week.

NO, they will NOT  take our name off the list. I have asked at least 6-7 times, and still get calls all the time. At least 2 times a day with hang ups. They pay you by the phone call, and you just are getting paid for harassing people. I support the veterans like you would not believe. You act like you are about 10 years old, and have no clue what the world is about. These people (including you)  are annoying, and you condone that. SHAME on you for your comments, the Veterans Association that is active here is APPALLED at what you all are doing. I am very active there, and you put a bad name on what the help is about.  I work there every day. You should find Frank and help him, if you have a heart. I bet that has not happened, and I do this kind of work every day. Have you done it?  Scammed people for money?
Again, SHAME ON YOU. These calls will end.. Good luck for you, I AM AN ATTORNEY! AS IS 4 OTHER MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY! WHO ARE NOT HAPPY!  PB

It sounds like these people get paid for the number of calls they place rather than the number of donations they collect.  I just blocked the number on my phone and it doesn't even ring.

Just got a call from this number. They asked for Mr."wifesmaidenname". I asked what this is in regards to. THey said they were calling for the American Homeless Veterans. Then asked if I was MR."wifesmaidenname". I said that is not my name. They then asked if my wife (by name) was available. I said no and then they asked "well where is she then" and hung up. Then I got a call back 30 sec. later and they pranked called me from the same number.
