I always get calls from this number, but i never answered. today they called and i decided to call them back. no one ever picked up. huge scam

Both numbers; 866-817-8903 (unknown location) & 209-858-3919 (Manteca, CA) are listed to a collection agency; "Performance Technologies Inc.," they are a collection agency for Great Lakes Loans/Borrowers, which deals mostly with student loans.

Thanks for the info. Internet is great. I missed the call and searched for the number. I don't owe any student loans or any loans at all, so I'll just ignore.

they told me they are Performance Technologies Company.  FYI if it is anything involving a court issue, if they are a legit company then they are required by law to inform you of what's going on.

This is not a scam.  It's for Student Loans that are past due.  I received the same call asking for my daughter and they couldn't talk to me about it since the loan is in her name.  That's the law..  They were not rude at all, they just wanted to contact my daughter.  Since the only reason they would call my cell phone would be student loan related, I'm sure it's for Great Lakes Student loans.  I failed to renew the loan extension and the loan became due.  So it's actually my fault since I manage the student loans for her.  All you have to do is contact them and they'll help you with a payment plan.  It was really easy.   Student loans will not just go away since they are government backed.  Hope this helps.

I'm so sick of them calling me everyday early in the morning... I called I said what's this for she personal matters but won't give out shy information transferred me to a different person I left a voicemail now I'm waiting. She refused to give me any information.

I am getting a call from this number daily.

Called me twice within 10 minutes today and have called several times in the past.  On the rare occasion when I do bother to answer, no one ever responds on the other end, so I have no idea who these idiots are.

student loans are payed, so why would they call.  dont assume that people are not paying their bills.  do you work for them? because it sounds like you do.

they keep calling and wont say why,  performance tech is who they say they are now.  Now it comes up as a private number since i stopped answering the 1866#.  

I actually answered these people.  I didn't even tell them if I was the person they were looking for.  I asked what business do they have with "The owner of this phone number" and she refused to give that out.  She hung up.

These guys call so often I recognize their number.  I answer with "Performance Technologies, Inc,, do you know your party's extension?"
They get real confused.

It's not a scam. Great Lakes Student loans goes through this company to retrieve payments so that's how I received the calls. The do have confidential information "YOURS" verify your address and birth date and they already know who you are and what you owe. Pat your bills and you won't have to worry about it.

Annoying - called the number back and a woman answered indicated that it was 'Performance Technologies' when I indicated I was returning a call, she hung up.

After I rudely contacted "Performance Technologies, Inc." , as they identified themselves. I do believe they might be a bill collector. I'm not sure for who because the woman stated that they work on behalf of their client...which means, they are working for someone...my daughter owes money to a few ppl, esp school loans right now, so I can imagine that may be it, but she also owes money to a medical bill for non insurance medical treatment...so I hope this somewhat helps everyone.

I've finally answered after 3 calls a day from 209-858-3919, a Manteca, CA #, asking for my daughter. After telling the woman she has the wrong number and that I am her mother, and how ignorant they are being for not leaving a message for anyone to contact them back, if they don't leave one now, we will not. She told my daughter to call 866-817-8903 and identified the company as Performance Technologies. The reverse search for both name and number do not appear to be found...go figure!

Never anmswer just chek n see who it is if I don't get the company name and why they calling don't bother to answer

Calling me also- dint leave any message  i called back and got performance technologies - do not know who they are so i hung up and didnt leave them a message either.  What a scam.

Called twice this morning, no voicemail left. Checked up the number online and found this site, looks like I don't need to call these guys back!

They are calling my 13yo son's phone. I wish I knew where they were located so I could go take care of this in person. Someone would be hurt bad if I did.

They called my DAD and was asking for me: some guy named Mike said he can help me. 1-866-817-8903 ext 6682 that is the number my sister called it and got preformence technology .... I am writing a letter to the FCC. We all need to get class action suites against these places.

Law enforcement should trace this number and take them to prosecution. I often got calls from this number as well. When I answered they hang me up. Very annoying.

I've been getting a lot of calls from this number. I called back to see who would answer. They claimed to be some business with a name that ends in Technologies. I didn't catch the first part. The woman then proceeded to ask for my birth date to confirm my identity. I asked them to confirm theirs first. They said they had "sensitive and private information" from a client who wanted to remain anonymous. Well, I decided to remain anonymous too. That's when the phone rep said, "I hope you can work it out," all dramatic like I was missing out on some big court filing or service of some kind. Yeah, go fish. Sounds like someone has been fishing for SS#s of other people. Now they are moving on to birthdays. If they get enough answers from people over time, they will have enough to steal their identity. I would not give them the time of day.

I get a call from this number to my work number. Whenever I answer it the call drops, when I don't no message is ever left.  I tried to call it and get a message "you call can not be completed as dialed...". I just ignore them from now on, but I am going to see if the company I work for can block this number.

I received a call from this number today but did not answer it.
