I work at a police department and we have already gotten this call 6 times today. Twice a woman said she dialed the wrong number and the other 4 times they just hung up without saying anything.

God I wish these people would leave me alone.
These people are liars. They are NOT VERIZON. They are Americom, a privately owned third party reseller.
They call me at least 20 times a week. I have spoken to upper management, I have written asking them to leave me alone.
In a way, I pity their salespeople. They are desperate losers down on their luck just trying to scratch out a living. They don't even know that their sales pitch is based on a lie.
Selling is based on trust. The first sentence of their spiel is a LIE. Americom would do better in the market place if they properly identified themselves up front and offered a way to save businesses on their telephone service.

I got the same thing from them this morning, called my office claiming that a certain person had been talking with them all week and was expecting their call today. However, the name they gave me was for someone who doesn't even work for my company anymore, they retired a few years ago. So, yes, they were obviously lying.

Caller left message with receptionist saying he was from AT&T and that I told him the previous day to call back in an hour.

We are receiving daily calls and paying to forward them to other oarties. We are on the business do not call list nationwide and will report this and drop all future citizen services

Same problem wakes everyone up in the house 6 AM - can not call block - called verizon they can't do anything about it. called Americom in PA they say its not them. How do we stop this problem?
