they left a message from the law office for my ex husband that I have not had contact with in over 17 years.  I have no idea where the jerk is.  why don't they contact his family - I will not be calling them back!

They were looking for my brother and said it was the district attorneys office... I worried for days until I looked up the phone number and saw that it was a debt collection agency.  This has to be illegal practice... to impersonate the district attorneys office.  The name of the caller was Ms. Coleman.  I called back and said he doesn't have a phone number.  No more calls.

They called and left msg, sounding like an entity handling complaints form the public. They wanted a call back to 'discuss' the complaint.

They are not. They are scavenger debt collectors going after old debts that are over 10 years old

They called me because I OWED A bill. The man I spoke to was Guy Murphy and he was very nice. He gave me a settlement on my account.

chris  ext 227 states that I am being sued, but refused to give me a mailing address. This is not an attorney office, this cubbey farm with 10.00 an hour employees needing to try and intimidate people who legitamatley can not pay there bills. I am disabled and being threatened they are going to take my home..... go after the other millions of people who are struggling with todays economy.

The Law Office of Joe Pezzuto keeps calling our house for my roomate. I keep trying to get them to tell me whats up but they say they would be in violation of some law. I even got the letter for my roomate, it's a bill for $25,000. I called them 5 times trying to pay the bill and they wouldnt alow me to. The last person I called was Guy Murphy. I told him I have a check in my hand to settle this account, and he says if he doesnt have power of attorney he isnt disucing anything with me. He went on to say they he goes to great lengths to insure that his people are 100% compliant, and not just when it's convenient. What an idiot...Can you imagine walking away from 25,000 because of a law. oh well...

See complaints about 602-274-9911 as well, they may be related. These are some decietfull scumbags, no doubt.

I received a message from the Law Office of Joe Pezzuto claiming someone named James Johnson had listed me as a relative. I called back and let the person who called me know I don't know a James Johnson. He apologized for bothering me. I purposely listed my phone number under a different last name and first initial that's extremely common. So, I get calls from collections agencies all the time looking for people with that last name and first initial. It gets annoying to say the least. When I move, I plan to list my next phone number under my deceased grandmother's name. That way when people call, I can say, "Sorry, she died in 1991 but I'll be glad to give her the message when I see her in Heaven", and hang up. LOL

My mom just called me and said that a "Kyle" left two messages on their machine, minutes apart, asking to speak with me in regards to my ex sister-in-law. I don't know how they have my PARENTS number, let alone why they are contacting me about a person I've not seen or spoken to in years. According to the message, she listed me as a family member on something...the number they left for me to call back was 866-826-4101, but the number they called from was *Surprise* 602-274-9911. I made the mistake of calling it back and leaving my cell number on their machine...I hope these a**holes don't start blowing my phone up.

They keep calling me saying they are the lay off of John Pezzuto. This is a joke. they are a debt collector. They said they were going to take steps to take my house if i didn"t pay the amount they wanted within 24 hrs. Called the company debt was with and settled with them instead.

To Chuck: Before you make a settlement with a creditor read a book like "Credit Repair" by John Ventura or check out www.BankRate.com. Sometimes even after you pay an outstanding debt, the creditor will still leave the blemish on your credit report. There are ways to negotiate to not only make a settlement but also have the blemish on your credit report removed. While you owe the debt you're in a position to negotiate. But once you make the agreement, it's too late. All negative information on your credit report can be removed 7 yrs from the date of last activity. However once you start making payments, the 7 year clock starts again and wont' stop until the final payment is made. That's why paying an old debt can actually work against you. Educate yourself about credit and make sure before you agree to do anything, you know your legal rights.
