Came into my cell around 10:00 AM ET today ... no message ...

this call comes in at least 3 times per day ... I would love to have it stopped

It is Verizon Wireless's Promotions Department.  I called them back and requested that my number be removed from solicitation list.  Was told request can take up to 30-days. *** They called my home phone not my cell phone ***

It is likely to be Verizon W Less wanting you to re-up.

i got my new cell number about 6 months ago the lady  that had my number before this was a criminal i think  i was constantly getting phone calls from detectivess and banks and copss i usually never answer number i dont know- but after having a bunch of diff number this year i decided to stick with this one and not change it. people stopped calling for her for about a month ago then for 2 weeks so far this number was calling me ; it looked like a kall8 number so i didnt answer ; but i did today. this is how it went.

he asked for the lady that used to have my phone number
i told him he had the wrong number
i asked him who he was so he could take me off his list
he said he was from verizon
i told him this wasent the ladys number and to take me off, and he said he had this number as his contact info for the lady,
i was confused
i said the woman does not have a verison contract anymore
i said y are u calling her if she has no phone thats weird
All the while he didnt say his name or what he wanted.
and i asked him to transfer me to the customer service and he said he couldn't
?????????? he started saying the number to call the customer service
it was weird the way he talked ; like he wasent really from verizon?

i got fed up with all he was saying and i told him to take my number off and hung up.



it didnt make sense  how could he have contact information for a lady that didnt even have a phone with them?

Got call from 866-831-8125. the lady who called knew all details about my cell phone. She offered upgrades etc. After hanging I called Verizon to verify who this person was and they confirmed that this person was valid Verizon-third-party vendor. So it is not a hoax number.

They called on 26March2009.  Left no message.  Called on my cell

I have so many legitimate "Global" conference call numbers that I use as a daily course of business that when my cell phone rings with an 866 prefix, I am reflexively thinking an AT&T operator is trying to reach me re a conference call I should be in, or someone is trying to get in and the operator is asking me (the host) if it is OK to allow the billing on, say, the international version of my account.

Boy am I pi**ed when I put the conference call on hold, pick up my ringing cell phone, answer it, wait, listen, say hello 2 or 3 times like an idiot only to eventually hang up a (apparently) dead line. Now that I know it is my own cell carrier trying to hawk me down for some freakin' incentive program, I am going to change carriers!!!

Almost as bad as that law firm that leaves a nasty message that you MUST call them within 24 hours for, "AN IMPORTANT BUSINESS MATTER" but you can't because they 'gave' their firm's number (and name) out before you start hearing or recording the IMPORTANT MESSAGE.

Hey, anyone smart enough to get them to call each other and rack up charges to both of them?

Got a call & answered, no one on the line.  Called it back several times.  No one picks up....

how many times a day do these folks need to call?  No messages left and the calls start at 8 a.m. ...  this needs to stop.  Whatever happened to, "if I need something, I will call you?" !!!!

Annoying call, probably some computer message.  I hang up to fast to know.
Incoming calls from 866 are almost always phone-spam.

I've gotten calls from this number daily for the past week. All bills are paid and even after a minute no one picks up. Really started to get annoyed.

Yep, that call is from Verizon Wireless.

It takes the representative about a minute to come on line, after you answer.  That is why sometimes it seems like no one answers (responds to) your "hello".

Of course, Verizon Wireless charges you "minutes" for their own call.

866-831-8125 is Verizon and they don't use the National uoNotCall database. If you're a customer or have been they have (supposedly) carte blanche to call you. They are supposed to have an internal DoNotCall database, but I'm not sure if they really use it. Complained over a month ago and was put on the list (not sure which list). Didn't get any calls for about a month. Now they're starting again. Going to have to complain to my son-in-law who works of Verizon to get more info about their policies.

I get probably 3 calls a week from this number. I've tried calling back, web searches, etc.. and can't seem to come up with anything.

Called home phone asked for me mom said not here can take message said from verizon to call back something about an upgrade when I have just upgraded last week said still able to upgrade again... Gave call back number as 866.831.8125
