So, I got a letter from First Source and called them about my debt. They were civilized human beings because I was FINALLY doing what I was supposed to be doing, paying my bill. It was really easy and everyone was nice. Probably because they didn't have to call a thousand times before I'd pick up. That's the ashamed a***ole thing to do.

Someone who does not owe money to anyone DOES NOT and SHOULD NOT ever give any voice on the phone their name, address, birthdate, s.s. number or any other personal information.
To stop these scammer collectors from calling you-- LOOK UP THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT.  Send the scammer a Cease and Decease Letter telling them to stop calling you, or contacting you, your neighbors, employer, relatives, or anyone else. Send that letter by U.S. Mail. REGISTERED mail with Return Receipt Requested.
For good measure I also called my states secretary of state office and asked for the registered agent for the collection agency. The registered agent is the person or company that is appointed to receive official letters and summons on behalf of the company in question, in this case the scammer collection agency.
Send them a cease and desist letter ALSO as stated above.
Next, call the state agency in your state that license's collection agencies. FILE A COMPALINT WITH THEM !
They have authority over collection agencies who are legit and licensed in your state to collect in your state. If they are not licensed, file a complaint on them for that with the collection agency board or agency that oversee's collection agencies.
File a complaint with your states consumer affairs dept.
Call your states, state attorney general office and file a complaint.

Well I did warn you about time posting the same message over and over. The people who come here want information on what company or person has called them, not diatribe supposedly from the company itself. Face it, we have no way of knowing the messages you left were legitimate so it just wastes everyone's time.

NOTHING legit about this company.   Check the complaints against them.   They do not respect the law.   They tried to scam me into paying a bill I do not owe.   You have to send them a cease and desist letter.   If they bother me again, I have an attorney standing by ready to sue.

Totally disagree.   You should not act as an accomplice to any debt collection agency.   Let THEM track down whoever they want to speak with.   Do NOT let them enlist you as an UNPAID go-between.   Tell them to stop calling, and do NOT cooperate with them in ANY way!

This is a fly-by-night collection agency that has a ton of complaints and lawsuits against them.  They are owned by an Indian and have call centers in the USA and India.   Their people are rude and refuse to provide any proof of a debt.   If they call you, do NOT call them back.   Send a "cease and desist" letter to their address:

Firstsource Advantage, LLC
205 Bryant Woods South
Amherst, NY 14228

If you call them back to resolve the situation, they will not cooperate and will then start "robo-calling" you.   They are not a legitimate business!

I received a call today from a gentleman with a foreign accent who knew my name and asked me to verify if it was me.  I did, and he told me he was trying to reach a neighbor of mine and gave me the    neighbor's name.  He said he had been trying to get in touch with this person.  I then asked him to repeat the name of the supposed neighbor.  It was a name unfamiliar to me and I told him I had never heard that name.  He thanked me and hung up.  I called the number on my caller ID back.  It was 866-517-7458.  When another person with an accent anwered and said First Source Advantage, I asked what kind of company it was and the person at the company hung up on me.

Collection agencies are not allowed to call friends, neighbors, etc., and tell them you have a debt or any other informaiton.  They are only allowed to ask if they know where you are.  Besides, I hate my neighbors and most of my family.  I would love for the c.a. to call and bother them.  A lot of people are not dead beats, just fell on hard times.  They should not be looking for someone if they already have your address, but they do.

They didnt tell you their business because they aernt allowed to by law. It's personal matters. I'm sure you wouldn't want your personal business being repeated to random people if a number was mixed up. So they won't release anyone elses. It's frustrating and annoying, I understand. I've worked there, and been collected on. So I know how it feels. It's a fine line between getting what you need and frustrating a debtor. But just remember its someones job to keep calling you and its someone's job to collect on the debt. Don't hate them for it.

Firstsource Advantage is a legit company, and isn't just trying to gain personal information. Your experience will vary upon the representative you speak to. As a former employee, I can guarantee that the only reason they attempt to have you tell them your personal information is because they want to be positive they're speaking with the correct person, otherwise they could have a lawsuit on their hands. Now this is a collection agency, so as with any agency they're going to try and get as much money as possible from you. If you have any desire to pay your debt, just tell them what you can do, and they HAVE to work with you. It's company policy.

I repeatedly received calls from First Source Advantage (818-459-4005) at my place of business. Whenever I would answer the calls and identify who I was and what department...whomever would hang up. Finally, after two weeks, I finally took down the phone number and called it back. This place would quickly rush over their name (First Source Advantage) and refused to tell me why they were calling. The gentleman (I use the word loosely) did ask if I was another person. When I confirmed that I didn't know that person and that this was my direct business line, he said he would make sure the record was corrected. When I asked why he was calling, he got very indignant and said that he couldn't explain their business practices. I asked if it was their business practice to repeated call phone numbers and disconnect when a live person answered the phone. I explained that this problem could have been solved two weeks ago if someone had simply done the professional thing and identified themselves when they got my number. This representative got very indignant but said my number would be removed from their database. WRONG!!!

About 3 hours later...I got another call. When I called them back, the person I spoke with explained that it took 24 hours to remove someone from a database. Okay...I get that. But she gave me a completely different name of who they were looking for. When I asked for a supervisor (Bill), he proceeded to say it was my fault because I should have called then right back the first time they called. Seriously??? I'm actually working and I'm suppose to call back every wrong number I get. He asked if there were other people working here.  Yea...I work for Disney...we have over 140,000 employees.  He said that sometimes people give the wrong number by mistake and wanted me to give him the operator so he could ask to be connected to the person in question. Again...seriously? At that point I wouldn't have helped him even if the person they were looking for was the sleaziest low life in the world. No...wait...the sleazy low lifes are those people working for this company.

I have received multiple recorded messages from Account Solution LLC, claiming to be a collection agency.  Do not call them back!  It is a scam and they are attempting to get personal information from you.  A real debt collector will address you by your name and provide his or her name.

FirstSource Advantage is not a scam, they are a 3rd party collection agency hired by multi-billion dollar clients, such as HSBC, Capitol One and Target, just to name a few, to collect money from people that apply for credit and don't have any intention on paying back the money...No wonder the US is in such a deficit...2ndly, the option to unblock their number is at their discretion....And as far as asking for your info...the personal info of the debtor is in the system and right on the computer screens as they are asking you for it, its simply a way of verifying that they are releasing personal debt info to the correct person...now google that nimwit

Immediately get them on the phone and ask for a sup. Once the sup on the phone "DEMAND" a manager.

Once you have a manager on the Phone threaten to sue over their false information.(And DO be prepared to go to an attorney to do so) Offer a below blanket settlement. Offer a settlement between 10 and 15 percent insist that the manager "personally" summit in writting to debt holder. Junk debt is usually sold at 23 cents on the dollar so you will be refused but you can expect a counter offer. The collections agency does not own these debt but a third party buyer does and the collection is paid a percent of what is collected.
Think of it like this if I bought $100 bills for $25 each and then had to pay a vendor 10% to put them in his store I would want him to sell the for about $35 each but he is making a percentage so he would rather sell them for $40.

When you do get an offer be sure to get in writting. Keep the offer letter the clear check and and final letter (recipt) for life. (Not 7 years) (but until Death)

We keep getting calls from them concerning my daughter who is married, does not live with us. Don't know how they got our name & #. They always hang up. The last time my husband told them to stop calling & they did for a while. But got a call this morning, said it was very important, urgent that we call back. We're on the do not call registry too, but that doesn't seem to work. Left different number to call back - 888 #.
