866-887-8252 is a collection agency...these stupid collection people purchase list of dead beats and try to frighten them into paying a long overdue debt.  Probably most of the "dead beats" are actually "dead" ... Why don't these collection dead beat people get a "real job"  ??????

I just called the number back.  it is verizon.  At least that is what he said.  I just gave my cell number and he told me my information.  SO at least i know he has some info about me.  I told him to stop calling me.  he tried to upgrade me.  I said i know my contract is up and i can upgrade but i am waiting for the right phone.  He apologized and said he would make a note not to call in the future.  we will see.

It is ABSOLUTELY A SCAM OR FRAUD.

It is Verizon by proxy of one of their affiliates. Not only do they call all of the time but if you notice they call exactly when you walk in your home. They are one of many tracking you with their networks and they know more about most people than most individuals know about themselves. "1984" is here. It has been here for sometime. The illusion of privacy is just that... an illusion. The funny and scary thing is that we did it to ourselves. We have all swallowed the blue pill. We voluntarily "bug" our homes, and cars, and workplaces. We automatically believe what we are told. We think that we excercise Freedom... of speech, of thought, of religion, of choice... but the words are put into your mouth, the thoughts into your head, the belief into your soul, and the deterministic choice has already been made. The all seeing eye is watching you... and you are more and more each day just an automaton. It is neither good nor bad. The universe does not look upon us with any sense of morality. It just is. It is simply executing the next step in our evolution. It is the way of the future... and it is inevitable.

Just got yet another call. I get one a day. No, I do not owe anything on my Verizon bill. I just upgraded my phone last week and was forced to switch to Family Share. I refuse to give them any information. It is a scam!

It is definitely Verizon.  Speaking to them now.

This number called me 5 times the last 5 days.  Who are they?  I want it stopped.

Just called here this morning 3 times within 2 1/2 minutes, all went to voice mail but they left no message.  Don't answer unknown numbers.  Think I call Verizon and if it's them tell them stop their telemarketer from calling or will change providers.

Called the number back and it is Verizon Wireless.

The call is from verizon they called to notify me that I now qualified to receive a huge discount on my account if I choose the family share plan rather than my unlimited data plan. also I will no longer receive discounts on future phone upgrades I have to pay full price for any phones I buy in the future... talk about customer loyalty...wiman was ao rude!

I just got a call from this number myself.  If it is Verizon Wireless, I'm sure it's because my  Husband and Daughter are both  due for upgrades that they are now charging you for.

This number calls me daily weekly ,monthly. It's annoying as hell.
It's Verizon wireless trying to sell upgrades in plans,new phones,contracts.
They have even called my cell. Who else would know the number But the carrier.

I have been getting about three calls a day for the past few days from the same number. when i pink up they put me on hold so i hang up. they are so annoying.

If a consumer is called by a company and they do not want to be contacted by that company again, the consumer can ALWAYS request that the company place that consumer's name and number on an INTERNAL do not call list which all companies are required to maintain.

I don't care who it is. If there is a service that I want, I will call the company that provides it. There is no law that says we have to answer the phone and if I have no idea who is calling, I don't. It's sad that some people have no other way of earning a living than bothering people on the phone.

I get calls from a number only identified as "unavailable". I have decided if the number is unavailable, so am I.  A caller with an actual message for me will leave it on the machine.

I got a call from 866-887-8317 March 7th and March 8th.  On both days the call was around noontime.
It came up as" No Name" Nobody answered me when I picked up.  What's this about?  I would like it to stop!

It is Verizon Wireless. All you have to do is call the number back to see that it IS them.

I've gotten 6 calls from them in the past two days, leave messages with no one talking, and now when I pick up no one speaks.

What people do not understand if you do  business with a company it does not matter if you are on a do not call list they can still call you to try to sell you more stuff and they can hire companies to do it for them

They have called me twice in the last two days, and I'm sure it's not the last time they will call.  I do not answer.  I am on the DO NOT CALL lists and if they can't tell me who they are, I don't want to talk to them.  It just says, 800 service, and I will NOT answer those calls.  From what I am reading, this is not really Verizon, and they are pretending to be to get personal information, which is fraud and identity theft.  If they are Verizon, why doesn't it say so on my caller ID, like it does when it really is them?

I dialed 611 as well. The guy I spoke with told me that it is a Verizon sales number.  They were contacting me because my phone is eligible for upgrade. I had called them back to take me off the list.  It is ridiculous that they were calling me every day though.

I just called 611 (verizon customer service) from my phone to inquire whether this is actually them. According to the gentleman I spoke with, this is not a Verizon number, and there are no notes on my account that I was spoken to last night when this supposed "verizon" number called me. He said to change your billing account passcode and do NOT take anymore calls from this number. They also took down the number to investigate.
