Mrs. McCurty called from ext. 156.  She called my mother-in-law's cell phone.

called and asked for someone who was was sick in bed and under doctors medications.. told me they wer from ther "CVE GROUP"  and that i had to get permission from my  sick friend to talk to them

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!
They are using student loans and other debt as a way to steal your identity and your money.
They call and harass about loans that people often do not have, hoping to score a "hit".  You pay some of it and then never hear from them again, but they don't disappear without first getting the rest of your bank/personal information.  Then they can sell your account again to another agency.
That is why it is so difficult to get them to identify themselves when they call.

I RECENTLY RECIEVED A CALL FROM CBE WITH MY CURRENT NAME AND AS ADDRES FROM 16YRS AGO , STATING I OWED FOR MY STUDENT LOAN FROM 30 YRS AGO. EXPLAINED IT WAS PAID WHEN i GOT MY FIRST MORTAGE. KEEPS CALLING EVERY DAT WITHOUT LEAVING A NUMBER. FINALLY GOT A # AND LOTS  OF THINGS ON THE INTERNET REGARDING THEM WHAT IS ONE SUPPOSE TO DO ??????????????????

A gentleman going by "Will McCoy" keeps calling our business looking for an employee that used to work here. We've tried to explain he is no longer with us but he keeps pestering us for his contact information.

A Ronald Bass from CBE Group called my home phone asking for my daughter who has not lived with me and had this phone number for 20 years!!!! When I told him she didn't live here, he wanted a new phone number and I refused to give it. I told him I would take a name and number. I knew there was something fishy about the entire thing. He gave this 866 892 4714 number for her to call and would not provide any more info. I have had this same thing happen to me a couple years ago with another group (or it could be the same one for all I know) and they kept leaving urgent messages on my machine to call phone ####. I never would, but researched that phone # on the internet and found it was the same junk as this. I filed a complaint that time with the BBB in the state where they operated and it stopped. If this CBE guy calls back here again, I will file a complaint about this one, too. If these crooks would put as much time and effort into doing something legitimate as they do in trying to scam people, they could probably get rich legitimately!

CBE has been leaving automated messages on my phone too, but for someone else. I've had the same number for almost two years and have never gotten a call for this guy before. The message says something about if you're not the person they're calling for to hang up, and that by you continuing to listen then you are acknowledging that you are the person they're calling for. Like I say, they have been leaving this automated message on my cellphone's voicemail. So, just because voicemail recorded the robot's entire message, they infer that I am the person they're calling for? I can't wait to call them back and tell them to knock this crap off.

CVE GROUP person named Alli

I was told by the person on the phone that she did business on behalf of the CVE group.  She asked for my information as confirmation.  I didn't give it to her, but she was able to mention certain things.

I asked the nature of the business she wanted to discuss, but was told merely that it was a personal matter.  So I explained that if it was me she wanted to speak with, then she should be able to tell me what it was that she wanted.

So I get on google to find out about this company and this is what I find.

I answered the phone thinking that it was another call that I was expecting since I couldn't remember the number I'd been called from.  I received this call on my cell.
