The thing about the National Do Not Call List is that it only applies to telemarketers. As long as they aren't trying to sell you something, they can still call you.

I get repeated calls from this number lately, calling in the name of a ?Customer Satisfaction Survey". This same survey has come from many different numbers over the years.  This drives me nuts. This has little to do with "Customer Satisfaction" in my opinion. One obvious point is how much satisfaction you get when you are repeatedly harassed by calls, checking on your ?satisfaction?. Which I think they know it has the opposite effect. Another obvious point is the only thing it really accomplishes is running up my phone bill.  I feel I should also point out the hidden meaning of the word Satisfaction. Satis meaning is to kill or to sacrifice.  Faction definition; party strife and intrigue; dissension: an era of faction and treason, most common Synonyms are; discord, disagreement, friction, split. After that history lesson it is much easier to understand why these (fill in the blank) call in the name of Satisfaction.

And then I called them at the number posted above 905-696-9400 and left a scathing voicemail on their general message line.

It is this company:
http://www.maritzcanada.com/ with a recorded survey for Rogers. No one in our house has had business with Rogers for years. I went to their website and using their contact form, sent them a scathing email demanding that they NEVER PHONE ME AGAIN or I will report them. Since I had to give my email to send the form, I also demanded that other than an acknowledgement of my request, they are also not to email me. It's bloody annoying that when WE call THEM back, they have a recording that doesn't let us leave a message. Idiots!

Not sure, but yes, looks like I received a call from this number:  1-866-895-6005  and it appears to be a company regarding a recent call I made to a ROGERS customer service agent regarding my ROGERS cell phone service.  Looks like it is MARITZ Canada.  www.maritzcanada.com.

[ funny, they pronounce it like " Merritts Canada " ]

They left a voicemail on my Rogers cell phone something like:  "  This is Maritz Research Canada conducting a survey regarding your recent call to Rogers customer service.  Sorry we missed you, we may reach out to you again in the future. "  [ No, please do not ... ]

If you try to call back the 1-866 number, it's just a recorded message, and it does not leave you the option to try and speak with anyone. (not great)

So I researched on the net, found their website, and scammed out another number to call them back.
Finally got through to someone live.  Told them thanks, all is FINE with the Rogers Customer Service agent, but PLEASE ... "Do NOT reach out to me again in the future."

And they claim to have taken my number off the calling list.  Good.  I hope.

[ Ironic - because that is the reason I called ROGERS in the first place ... to stop bothering me for no important reason. they were contacting me on my cell phone for Marketing reasons - they were sending me Marketing TEXT messages - which I wanted to STOP !  And ironically, that just generated more calls, this time for a SURVEY, from a different company, on how their Customer Service Agents did.  It never ends does it. ]

hee hee ... FYI ... from that website:  www.maritzcanada.com

MARITZ Canada
6900 Maritz Drive, Mississauga, ON L5W 1L8
phone: 905-696-9400  <-- ? receptionist ?

hee hee ... so I called that number, and I just asked to speak with someone in the Research / Survey Dept for ROGERS, that I wish to respond to a recent call I received from your company regarding a request to respond to a survey for ROGERS.

I love it !  Call em' up.  Fair Game I say.  Open up the flood gates !

I am such a sh!! disturber !

Just so that you are aware, the National Do Not Call list applies only to those soliciting business. If they are a customer satisfaction survey, as you say, then they are exempt from the NDNC list.

source: I used to work in market research.

P.S. Every company that does business by phone -- even those who use auto-dialers -- will maintain its own internal DNC list. If you truly do not wish to be contacted, you may simply ask them to add or remove you from the appropriate list. They are then legally prohibited from contacting you further. No need to be angry or swear -- it's their job to call you, and unless you post your dinner hour in the yellow pages they have no clue what they're interrupting.

Maybe I should answer and tell them how unsatisfied I was with the last conversation I had with their customer care team.  If this number is really from Rogers, they should really know what bad service they have on their phone team.

I bought a new Panasonic Cordless phone a few days ago that has a Call Block feature. When someone like this calls, even if I don't answer, I can use the Caller ID to see the number and easily program it to get a busy signal every time they call again. I am not disturbed as the ringer doesn't sound. I've already programmed four numbers to be blocked.

Called the number. Some research company calling on behalf of Rogers to gather info for Rogers about my customer experience with them yesterday. My experience was a pain in the rear, AS ARE THESE PHONE CALLS. They couldn't "help" me yesterday and I refuse to "help" them improve their service today.

If you noticed, at the end of some rogers support call, the rogers reps informs you that they wll call you back to check if "the problem is solved". that is an subtle and implicit way to get your consent to call you. At that point you are back to their marketing list. It's a scam and a clear abuse of the customers good faith. so what i can say is "screw rogers with any means any time you can". if they want the war, they will get a war. A suggestion: if you are unemployed join one of their customer support hiring sessions, it's 16 bucks a hour and 4 weeks course payed in full, you get 2800 bucks from them back and then leave them.

Same here, they called me the day after I made changes to my account.  I have Buzz Off app on my blackberry so added them instantly but this is the third number from Rogers I've had to add to my Buzz Off list as they were calling me endlessly - I had to spend money buying this app to protect myself from the very company I am buying cell phone service from.  It's incredible.

I get this call every time after I make changes to my Rogers account, whether it's cable, cellular or Internet. It's quite annoying. I guess Rogers is hiring an external company to survey their customer service, but by doing so they are simply aggravating and harassing its own customers for no reason.
Really redundant and stupid.

I received 2 calls within a few seconds of each other from this number today (July 28/11), but my cell phone didn't ring. Looks like they're using a back door technique of some kind to leave a message. Ironically, when I listened to both messages, they had a female voice asking me to press 1 for English, or 2 for French, followed by "I didn't understand your response, please try again" or words to that effect. I am a Rogers customer, but haven't had calls like this before.

My husband and I have cell service with Rogers.  They call us from this number AFTER we've paid our bill each month.  Um, Thanks, Rogers...Especially after you guys screwed up our bill for 7 months and we STILL have yet to clear up the payment which you refused to clear since it is your fault.

Sorry, but our cell bill equaled our car payment one month, and our rent the next month!  (Yes, even after 2 payments were made.)

Don't answer, don't call it back.
