To those of you complaining about hearing nobody on the line, I'm sure you've realized it by now but here's the scoop.

Telemarketers do not call each number manually. A computer calls your number and when it detects that you've picked up, it'll "transfer" your call to a live telemarketer. That pause is the computer transferring your call to a large pool of telemarketers waiting for a live person to prey upon. If you pick up, it'll only confirm that your phone number is active. If you don't answer, it'll eventually be marked for removal but that could take months, even up to a year.

Unfortunately, the easiest way to prevent them from calling is to answer, wait for the live person and ask them to remove you from the list. It's a pain in the a** but it's the easiest way for now.

I use "Mr. Number" (free)  on my Mobile Phone... to block this number and those type of calls ... answers and hangs up :-) I use my Call Blocking on my Home Phone :-)

Below advise DID NOT WORK.  I called the number and yes, it's Rogers but when I pressed 4...the stupid message kept playing so I just pressed the ####### until the beeping started and then hung up....aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

They called at 7pm tonight
Didn't know the number so let it ring
No message left.
If they continue will block them out

I tried to call back the 1-866-899-8313 number but the message that I made a call that long distance charge would apply! GRRR

866-899-8313 got a call @ 12:42 answered and it was Roger's.

Holy hell. This # 8668998313 calls me every 2 days EXACTLY on my cell while I am at work, and then alternate the others days to call my home while I am cooking supper! I am so FED up of these calls. If it was a valid call maybe they should consider leaving a message with the details and request a call back... ARG....

They called my Rogers cell phone at 8:34 pm EST.. no clue who it was; they did not leave a message & I didn't answer. Just thought I'd share

They call me 2 times a day. I just let the answering machine take it, but I like the idea of using ########## or asking them to hold.

Having worked for this company many years ago, I know that the only thing that works is calling a manager , speaking directly to a manager and specifically requesting to be removed from their list.  As well as call the CRTC you need to make sure you are on the do not call list.  I know this does not always work, however if you speak directly to someone it does.  Called them back today, several times, and just listened....called back again and just listened....called back again....did it several times.....how does it feel you twits!!!!

I am sick and tired of these party calling me from 866-899-8313!!!  Apparently they are contacted to Rogers in some way!  I called Rogers to complain about it and they stated that my number would go on the NO CALL LIST, but guess what....it's still happen!!!  What does a person to do before their bu***hit stops!!!

Most telemarketers in outbound call centres are paid both by the amount of calls they make in an hour and the duration of each call. If the call lasts longer than 45 seconds, it's considered a success, regardless of what that call is for. If you're the person boosting a caller's statistics at work for successful connecting calls of 45 seconds, then they're more likely to call and are encouraged to (according to the Ipsos and Rogers local call centres)

Just called Rogers...they told me they do not have an internal do not call list (or no solicit) - they recommended I use the National Do Not Call List...only problem is when you go to that website it states that if you have business with the company calling then this does not count for the companies that are not allowed to call.
Too bad I still have over a year on my contract - guess if they keep calling I will have to call Rogers again and at least get some satisfaction by venting on the poor sucker that is working the customer service desk that day...

I answer and no one is there.  I've waited and no one ever comes to the phone so if it's transferring it's taking a hell of a long time to do so.  I phoned them back and I'm unable to get anyone on the phone, just a voicemail.  I'm annoyed and they better not call me again after the message I left them.

I have 86 years mother in home, then she is going bed earlier. But this call comes 9:00 pm !!
It is harrasment. If they continuer I will repport to Police.

It called om April 1st 2010 @ 10:44am it showed on call display 'unknown name'
I call the number bask the male answering machine said "Roger please hold' then the machine went ito another message and said the callers mail box is full please call back latter"

First thank you to all that have posted here, I was getting the same foolishness as well.

I fixed this problem (and similar ones) by making sure that when I bought my new cordless phone that is was one with the call blocking option. An increasingly common feature these days.

Very worth the money I highly recommend looking for this option the next time you are looking to replace you phone.

I just called Rogers and they told me that TRG Client Solutions is not on their list of affiliates.

rant all you want people it's a job if there was no need for it we wouldnt do it. we do have really great deals for those who will losten and i do get a multitude of a** holes on the phone too...it works both ways dont forget. if you are pissed thats fine and if no one answers wait a few seconds as the automated dialer DOES have a few second delay... we are there not to bug you we wait for a call to come up and then we do our JOB. if you dont like it thats ypour prerogative and just ask us NICELY to put you on our do not call list and we will and we wont call you. it's so simple but you fell you have to rant and rave as though thats going to make it better. a little kindness goes a long way. we all have families to feed too.

calls say they are from rogers, its bu***hit, a telemarketer looking for personal info...called rogers, it was not them!

I wish this idiot would quit calling and not saying anything. You are an inconsiderate  #$%$# idiot to make a call and not say anything. Several calls have been make to my number with no response. If you have something to say then say it, give us your sales pitch and take a flying $%# down a mountain.We are as pissed off as others receiving these inconvenient calls on our cell phone. We do not use Rogers because of idiots like this. Nor will we ever use Rogers. Stop the bu***hit.

I use to get these calls. But recently I purchased a new phone with a call block feature. If you're going to buy a new phone, make sure it has this cool feature! It gives a half ring before disconnecting the call. I've added this number (866-899-8313) and a bunch of other numbers too!

Just keeps calling but when you pick up there is no one there. Very annoying.

In this day and age, it seems unavoidable to get spam caller on your cell, even w/ the do-not-call lists - which don't seem to work. That said, I decided it's not worth my time to get frustrated when I receive spam calls, which is quite frequent I should add. I just ignore it and go about my day. I couldn't care less if they called a thousand times a day - it's their time they're wasting. If no one answers when they call, well then they won't have much of a viable business model now, will they?

come on guys dee has the right idea. Ask nicely to be put on the Do Not Call list...they HAVE to do it and end the call IMMEDIATELY. very simple solution. not answering or leaving the phone down or even pressing pound will NEVER EVER work. They have families to feed and bills to pay and are just doing their job. so ask and though shall receive no more calls.
