Someone from this number kept calling, trying to supposedly save us money.  They must have out of date info or something because the new "lower" rates they were quoting were higher than what we are paying now.  We just redid our contract with Frontier 6 months ago so I figured that they were trying to scam us.  I called Frontier afterwards, and they confirmed that Onvisource is trying to scam customers with tricks.

A woman named Renee stating she represents Verizon left a voice mail for us to contact her at x1344.  This is a spoof call trying to get you to switch services. Has nothing to do with Verizon at all.

The company name is Onvisource, and they are sub-contracted through VGE for Verizon.  Not a reseller, just an outsourcer.  The agents are authorized to sell Verizon services and handle Verizon business accounts in northeast states as well as a few others.  There's no worry about your services being switched, usually they are renewing or adding a contract term on Verizon Centrex or Custopak plans (do a web search), or converting a regular telephone account (POTS) to the custopak plan.  This just gives you a contract locked rate, if you're not under contract with Verizon, they do have rate hikes every so often.  The agents do call a lot because they work on commission, but as long as you know what you're paying now and it's as good or a better deal (or you want more features on your lines), it's an OK deal.  They can add lines, handle DSL/FIOS, change your features, do contracts, and some other things

We are not a scam or a reseller. We actually spend alot of time on the phone with you helping to bring your phone lines and/or your long distance back to us after you were scammed by someone else. We do every thing we can to help our customers be satisfied with Verizon services and keep the best plan for their business at the lowest rate possible!

Onvisource is a scam!! They didn't create the scam however, VGE did. I don't think Verizon pays as much attention as they should to these types of campanies that they support. Onvisource uses high pressure cohersion to get month to month subscribers to extend for 36-84 months based on a Centrex or Custopak plan. They yell at the customers, they harass Verizon clients and have received several investigations by Verizon's partner VGE.

Onvisource trains it's  representatives to force the decision maker to make an irrational verbal agreement or else... Some have threatened to turn off the telephone lines, others have threatened to change the numbers etc.. Fifty percent of Onvisource employees quit after they realize they work for a scam artist. The Owner's of Onvisource are two conservative republicans Ray Naeni and Jack Baldwin, you would never expect them to be involved in such a scam.

You may call OnviSource the scammers yet they do what VGE & Verizon authorize them to do and nothing more. Do you honestly think when you call the business office (which is the # on your phone bill) that you are talking to someone who works directly for verizon or anyother phone company. The answer is NO! The phone companies are large corporations that cant possibly have the man power to do it alone. So they contract and sub-contract other companies to help. Not to mention its cheaper for them to hire out then to hire directly. If you don't like it then don't have telephones because you'll see this with every last one of them!

Just a guess but I believe Ms. Adams was from the Texas office where we did find some 'training deficiencies'...these should be for the most part resolved, and just because a trainer is not fully aware of what is proper or an agent may be shady to secure revenue, this does not indicate official policy.  If an agent is found to be coercing customers or otherwise abusing or deceiving them, it is addressed as this endangers a valuable business contract.  If you're worried, ask questions, have a bill handy, verify what you need.  And to confirm, depending on your state, custopak is only offered in 2 and 3-year terms, while centrex/centranet/custoflex has a range available - lower rates with longer terms (and more revenue for the rep), but as short as 12 months.  And if you want to be sure you're getting accuracy, ask during your order confirmation recording!  Nothing more than upgrading, renewing an expired contract for a discounted rate, or locking in your term pricing for a period of your choosing.

They also scam you into changing services at AT&T. Their letterhead makes you think they are AT&T. Good luck, if you want to cancel an order they place. Omnisource says they can't help you, and AT&T says the same thing!

you people that think you know it all need to stop making yourself sound stupid. I also got a call from this number and instead of jumping to conclusions like you and half researching the company, I spoke with the representative that called me and got some info. Do you realize that if a company is calling claiming to be Verizon or any other company and you straight out ask if they are directly that company then by law they are required to tell you the truth. And last time I check nobody likes being sued, so I'm pretty sure they will not break the law. I researched this company here: First I called Verizon directly; they told me that they don't have people call out, So I called the representative that called me back and explained this, she then advised me that they are OUTSOURCED, which is apparently directed then resellers (they buy Verizon products and sell them at there own prices), or third party (they are a different company all together and charge you for service you don't receive). The representative advised me that they are outsourced through a company called VGE or Venture Group Enterprise. She walked me through steps on the Verizon website and sure enough they are on there. And of course I was still a little worried so like any smart person I expressed my concerns and asked her to send me info. on there involvment with verizon in writing. And believe it or not she did. So in the end the actual Verizon representative was lieing and probably working off commission and the outsource representative was very nice and helpful, she fixed alot of mistakes that Verizon made on my account, and now I have a direct number that I can call and speak with someone that I don't have to wait on an automated system for hours to talk to.  So if you would like continue being stupid but remember just one more thing, in this whole process I did also learn that when ever you receive a call from a "Verizon" representative ask them for the 3 digit security code at the top of the bill right after your account number if they can give it to you then good if not hang up.

Sincerely,

Smart One
