and the reason I only put company name as Global, is because that is the only information they would provide. They won't/refuse to say if it is a debt collector.

I continually get phone calls from this number. They begin by asking for me, which I of course say "You are speaking to her", then they proceed to try and get me to give them personal information; ie: DOB, address, SIN. When I explain to them that I do not feel comfortable with providing this information, they continue to just repeat the name of the company of which they are calling from. When I begin to ask information about their company, they keep telling me that they cannot give me any information until I verify I am who I say I am. So I quickly tell them, if they cannot give me any information, I guess I cannot give them information and hang up on them. Then they proceed to call me back with a automated system asking me to press 1 for english etc, WITHOUT identifying themselves, so I press 1 and once I get someone on the line, I ask them again for information on their company and when they tell me they cannot give me this information, I tell them to stop calling me and to stop sending automated messages via my phone. They won't even tell me if they are a collection company or anything. I mean if I am trying to get money out of someone from something they owe, I'd be sure to say, "this is so and so from such and such company and we are a collection agency that was hired on behalf of so and so"

Yes, this is Global Credit & Collection.  The left a message once, I called back and told them they had the wrong number.  They said they wold take me off the list.  About 3 weeks later, another call.  I called them back and repeated the situation and they again said they would take me off the list.  We'll see.

Yes, it is a pain in the butt to have to call them and tell them they have the wrong number, and it is unfortunate they have to be so mysterious about why they are calling.  I suppose the people they are looking for would not call back if they actually said who they were, eh?

Okay, so I do actually have an unpaid account with Global Credit and whoever from a Capital One credit card I used to have.

If any of you are like me and also have an account with them, here's some info:

I made a pay-off deal with one of the reps in September and have been working my a** off to get them as much money as I can each month; they just started calling me again 4 days ago asking why I haven't begun to pay off my balance yet?
Luckily, I've been using my mom's credit card to pay it off each month (I just give her cash), so we have proof on each monthly statement that I have been paying it off.

Basically, KEEP YOUR STATEMENTS AND/OR RECEIPTS. If you are paying by check or money order, DEMAND A RECEIPT FOR EVERY ONE OF YOUR PAYMENTS. They can e-mail it to you or send it to you snail mail, doesn't really matter, but DO NOT back down on this or you could get screwed into the ground.

if you did file bankruptcy then get the name of the company and their address and give it to your attorney.  SO that they can tell them to stop calling you

They have been calling practically every day for the last couple months, sometimes as many as eight calls a day.  They don't know who they're calling, it's just a robo call saying I MUST call them back.  I  absolutely refuse to.  I don't have any debt so it's not legitimate.  When they say they're calling "so and so" they distort the name to such a degree it's hard to make out.  If this is a battle of  wills, robo call or not, I won't give them the satisfaction of calling them back.  I'm retired and can play this game as long as it takes.

Yes Global Credit has called my house many times. I work and when I do answer this call,  they say this is your last chance to call me back. Very tough  and demanding. Would not say why they were calling or who they were, just a number and Global CC.I do not owe them or anyone else anything, and do not appreciate this kind of calls.

I've been receiving several calls from an Arkansas number 501-550-4562. since they wouldn't leave a message I haven't called it back...until today. I called the Arkansas number and the person on the other end answered simply hello...I asked who it was "Frank" when I asked him why he was calling my house he wouldn't tell me...so the Arkansas number called back...I answered and go a Robocaller that gave me a message to call 1-866-915-5210...so I called they answered "Global" when I asked what type of business this was the girl was very annoyed and said "Financial" when I asked why they would be calling my number again she was annoyed and wouldn't tell me what type of business "Global" was in. She started yelling so I did what everyone should do I hung up...
If you have a problem with any Bank or Credit Card company expect to hear from them first...not some ?company? who claims to be a collection agency...and since they wouldn't tell me what they wanted I figure this is a scam......

I am getting calls from this company, saying they are collecting for Cap One. I do owe Cap One money, but I am trying to figure out if they PURCHASED the debt from them for pennies on the dollar, or if they are actually collecting for Cap One. If anyone can give me a heads up on this I would appreciate it...

I owe Capital One and recieved calls from these guys.  The first one I picked up, the man told me I had one day to get my account paid or they were coming after me legally.  I hung up.  I mean, what more can be done to me I have no idea- house is forclosed, etc.  So today I called them back and he told me "look, find out how much you can pay us over the weekend and I'll call you Monday"... I asked him if they had ever sent me anything in writing?  He said yes, but I haven't seen anything.  I asked him if this could be sent again- he ignored the quesiton and told me "Look, I'll keep you on file for this month".  Having no idea what he was talking about I said "And what if you dont?", he said "Well then we'll have to send your account back to Capital One so they can proceed with legal action".  I then said, "OK, by the way, who are you?  Are you a collection agency?"-  He hung up...  All I could find afterward is this: http://globalcollection.net/index.cfm?fuseaction=main.display&pageid=17

I wish you all the best. This is a collection agency working on behalf of Capital One. They buy your debt for 5 cents on the dollar and try to collect as much of it as possible. Don't let these fast talking hucksters bully you into doing anything you're not 100% sure about. Hell, hang up on them and DO SOME RESEARCH ABOUT SETTLEMENTS first before you commit to anything over the phone. If you decide to settle your debt aim at paying off your debt at 20 cents on the dollar. Keep on bargaining with them because they will budge if you keep pushing them for a lower settlement amount.

George can't beleive you said that. Alot of people are losing their jobs or have and then thier homes and cars just for starters. And when or if they get a job it pays next to nothing. Hope your not in a postion like most of us and yes there are people out there who have good paying jobs and not paying their debts. so don't talk down too people who were responsable and still are trying to keep ahead. Maybe your one of the lucky ones that things are fine for now and cudo for you. Maybe you should be in our postion and see how's it like and write back about it.

I received several calls for somebody else from this number.
When I called back to find out what these guys wanted,
I was told that I had an old credit card bill that I never paid.
When I looked into it, it turns out that they were right (oops!).
I was able to settle my account for half the amount owing.
