As a former employee who worked in the Software Division (and hated every minute of it~!) , I can tell you they ARE a legitimate company authorized by Verizon as an outsourcer.  I can't vouch for the quality of the reps who are calling you, but there is no scam here... they are given a list by Verizon to contact, and a group of products they can resell at the specified price to those customers.  They have been doing this since around 2005 as I recall.

Their offices are located in the former Perot Building near the corner of Alma and Park in Plano.  They have been around for many years, and do more business selling their software and products to businesses than they do outsourcing, but they use to also do AT&T when I was there, so maybe that has changed.

While the owner is an absolute flaming jerk of legendary proportions, the business is honest and legitimate.

I got a call from a lady by the name of Teri De Jesus. She said she works for Frontier and that she is calling to renew my service agreement with frontier. But she was honest to goodness, the most UNPROFESSIONAL person I have ever spoke with!!!!!!!!!!!! She really does not deserve to have a job at a call center. She has absolutely NO professionalism at all. The company she works for is Onvisource or at least that's what she said. When I asked her to speak with her manager, she hung up on me!!!! I had to call back and get another agent to finally speak with someone who was not rude like Teri was. If her bosses ever read this..... FIRE her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should be embarrassed to have an employee of this nature. Will never do business with this company due to the fact that Teri was so flat out rude to me.

"Employee from different call center" is correct. I do not work for Onvisource..never have...never would. In all reality, no common sense, intelligent person would renew services with Onvisource and probably should contact Verizon directly after receiving a phone call from them. With that being said they are not a scam. They are outsourced by Verizon. In fact, all major wireless and landline businesses (such as AT&T, Sprint...etc.) all use outsourcing companies. They outsource to people who handle inbound customer service calls as well as outbound calls to help renew services or sell new services. Onvisource agents should not say they are Verizon, because they are not. However they are not doing anything wrong. They may act shady and they certainly do say shady comments such as your number is getting discontinued or your contract is almost up when in fact your contract may not be up for another 11-12 more months. Like comments above they use scare tactics and they are on commission. Again they are not a scam....shady...yeah a bit. No point in calling Verizon customer service to find out if Onvisource is a scam...Verizon reps flat out do not know all the outsourcing companies. Most reps won't know any. Obviously it would be much smarter to contact Verizon yourself after receiving a phone call from Onvisource. Not to verify who Onvisource is but to verify info Onvisource may have given you. Afterwards feel free to do business with Onvisource if you would like. They are providing real services that Verizon would offer as well. Grant it the agents are saying things they should not say. So be weary of trusting everything that you hear. Understandable for most people to trust Verizon over this 3rd party outsource call center. Honestly, I would to. With that said though, nothing wrong with working with them.

A man by the name of Marcus called my company saying that he was renewing my lines with Frontier. He harassed me for weeks. He lied to me saying that my lines were just being renewed, nothing else. Come to find out, he renewed my contract with Frontier without my even knowing, I later had to pay a huge cancellation fee when I moved my company out of state. Do not trust anyone from this number!! They are scam artists!!!!!!!!!!

We have National Accounts with Verizon....and they are reviewed monthly between my IT Director & our Account Mgr. WILL NOT EVER TAKE A CALL OF THIS NATURE....HAVE PUT THE WORD OUT TO MY LOCATIONS REMINDING THEM THEY ARE NOT TO SPEAK ON THE ACCOUNTS REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS TOLD TO THEM. On the rare occassion someone new gets them, we are hit with bogus charges BURIED in the middle of the bill.

People, if you think there is a better deal to be had with Verizon, PICK UP THE PHONE & CALL THE NUMBERS YOU HAVE. Do NOT accept cold calls from people you don't know! You might as well just give money to claim that inheritance in Nigeria they write about too!

I got many calls from a lady named Angie Jones, who says she is calling on behalf of Verizon, however, she is the most absolute rudest person in the world. She was so rude and literally yelled at me on the phone telling me that I was wrong and that I was paying more than I actually am! I had my bill right in front of me. I think she is a total fake and must get paid commission. If she ever calls you... hang up one her!!! If Verizon has people like this working for them, maybe it's time for us to find a new service provider!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Verizon has an indirect sales program.  These companies are in this program.  It is true that Verizon employee's do not cold call customers.  They use the indirect program for that.  The only exception is Corporate and Goverment accounts.  You can find this information on the Verizon website.

I just took a call asking to verify my account information and lock into a verbal renewal for the phone lines. Seemed fishy to me, so I called Verizon and spoke to a billing representative who took care of everything for me.
She said that Verizon wouldn't call and tell their customers taht they could only renew verbally. They would send some documentation if asked for...which the lady from the 866-921-6684 number was not willing to do.
Best to never renew anything over the phone...there are shady folks on the other end quite a lot.

you people that think you know it all need to stop making yourself sound stupid. I also got a call from this number and instead of jumping to conclusions like you and half researching the company, I spoke with the representative that called me and got some info. Do you realize that if a company is calling claiming to be Verizon or any other company and you straight out ask if they are directly that company then by law they are required to tell you the truth. And last time I check nobody likes being sued, so I'm pretty sure they will not break the law. I researched this company here: First I called Verizon directly; they told me that they don't have people call out, So I called the representative that called me back and explained this, she then advised me that they are OUTSOURCED, which is apparently directed then resellers (they buy Verizon products and sell them at there own prices), or third party (they are a different company all together and charge you for service you don't receive). The representative advised me that they are outsourced through a company called VGE or Venture Group Enterprise. She walked me through steps on the Verizon website and sure enough they are on there. And of course I was still a little worried so like any smart person I expressed my concerns and asked her to send me info. on there involvment with verizon in writing. And believe it or not she did. So in the end the actual Verizon representative was lieing and probably working off commission and the outsource representative was very nice and helpful, she fixed alot of mistakes that Verizon made on my account, and now I have a direct number that I can call and speak with someone that I don't have to wait on an automated system for hours to talk to.  So if you would like continue being stupid but remember just one more thing, in this whole process I did also learn that when ever you receive a call from a "Verizon" representative ask them for the 3 digit security code at the top of the bill right after your account number if they can give it to you then good if not hang up.

Sincerely,

Smart One

People are so stupid you think when you call verizon at&t or whoever don't you understand the people awnsering are probably trained authorized agents you honestly think these nobodies on customer service get paid 401k, insurance, etc. which is what verizon offers to there employees??

Haha!!

Are you stupid there on top for a reason. They dramatically save money by subcontracting. Imagine this; they get revenues with no liability. They pay for results instead of doing it internally. Just be lucky (or not) if who your talking to is even americans and not just some people outsourced from india.

There not trying to scam! there just poor telemarketers hired by a big company that consistenly pressures with quotas!! I bet you guys don't call direct all the big name places I bet you guys call cheaper contractors etc. for all your electric, building, etc. realize that when it comes to business only the bottom line matters.

Put it this way I used to work for a telecom and if anything I was NON BIAS because I wasn't "DIRECT" and if a customer was being overcharge d id let them know!!! verizon reps directly can NEVER advise a customer to do something that is not beneficial to verizon including disconnection of svcs u would get fired! The people that sign them up(direct verizon) do with plans or long distance services the customer doesent need because they earn comission if the customers spending level increases over a certain amount. YOU ALL ARE STUPID. Just dont give social security numbers credit card numbers account numbers dont sign anything foreign or authorize anything crazy and your GOOD

Just so you all know, you can tell Verizon to put your account on the "no calls from outside parties" list- and these calls will stop.  If you do get a call, just ask for the name and extension number of the agent, then call the Verizon Customer Sevice number and ask your agent if the reason for the call is valid.  I would recommend always dealing directly with Verizon, making a note of the person you talk to, and asking for them every time you call.  It is worth it to me to wait a few days for their shift to talk to a familiar voice that I know is familiar with our Business Account.

They called telling me that the credit account for my main line expired and didn't exist. When I told him that we have 300 DIDs he was surprised. I asked him which account this was for and he didn't know. I told him that we had multiple T1s on the same account and he didn't know what to say. He told me he'd call back later but never did.

Actually they did a great favor for me; they renewed my lines and saved me money. I researched the custopak service that they were renewing on the Verizon website and it was correct. I really believe that they work to help small businesses to scam or hurt them. I wouldn't have remembered to renew my lines if they hadn't called me.

The person that called told me that our business lines are of of term and that they most be renewed.  Personally, I have never heard of such a thing.  Phone numbers do not expire if you are actively using them and paying your bill.  I suspect that this is some sort of 3-party sales solicitation.

When I called back the phone rings for about 10 times then you get that disconnecting "click".

I don't trust people calling out of the blue with such an agenda.  The phone company knows how to contact us... which would certainly be within a notice with their monthly billing.

I received a call from this number a couple of times... At first I was skeptical about renewing my lines with this "Authorized Account Manager". I asked a number of different questions on which the guy had a good answer for every question... I renewed because the call was recorded and he even stated that I could say "I'm not switching lines or Anything I wanted in the middle of the confirmation..." This is definitely not a scam. I renewed last month about three months ago and since then every bill has been cheaper and I'm still with Verizon. I'm satisfied with my account number.

I'm back...as I noted above, it's not a scam unless you get a shady agent.  Please re-read: The agents do call a lot sometimes because they work on commission, but as long as you know what you're paying now and it's as good or a better deal (or you want more features on your lines), it's an OK deal.   The quality and training has come along quite a bit in the last few months so agents should definitely be more forthcoming with their answers now.  It's about as much as a scam as StarTek is for AT&T (except they are all inbound) - meaning it's not.  Every company outsources, and there are likely quite a few internal agents who do not have full knowledge of outsource/contract worker agreements.  Check out the products offered, it's all Verizon.  No reselling, just outsourcing.

Do not renew! These people lie about being Verizon when they are actually another company that will switch your plans to something else.
I suspect the above comments about saving money to be false testimonials from the people from this company.

If you want to renew any plans, call Verizon directly with the phone numbers on your bill.

The company name is Onvisource, and they are sub-contracted through VGE for Verizon.  This # is the newer call center in Texas.  Not a reseller, just an outsourcer.  The agents are authorized to sell Verizon services and handle Verizon business accounts in northeast states as well as a few others.  There's no worry about your services being switched, usually they are renewing or adding a contract term on Verizon Centrex, Centranet or Custopak plans (do a web search), or converting a regular telephone account (POTS) to the custopak plan.  This just gives you a contract locked rate, if you're not under contract with Verizon, they do have rate hikes every so often.  The agents do call a lot sometimes because they work on commission, but as long as you know what you're paying now and it's as good or a better deal (or you want more features on your lines), it's an OK deal.  They can add lines, handle DSL/FIOS, change your features, do contracts, and some other things.

Rec'd voice mail from "Faye with Verizon Business Services" She talked VERY fast. There was also loud "BEEP  BEEP BEEP" coming over top of her voice so you could only hear part of what she said. She claimed my business phone rate was going to go up significantly if I didn't renew my plan with Verizon. She claimed it used to happen automatically but now I must speak to a rep.   I called the number but I get an auto attendant thanking me for calling "customer service" (never says Verizon) and that no one is available. It gives me options to transfer but no matter what I push I get a recording saying "That service is not available".  I end up hanging up as I can reach no one.

Onvisource is a scam! It gives it's employees incentive money to log on to complaint sites to defend it. Also the more lines you ca sitch to a higher plan the greater your commision. Onvisource is not in business to renew your lines at a lower cost, as frankly Verizon only pays 30 dollars for renewals. They are in business to put you on plans you don't need byusing scare tactics. The person that left the coment from the " other call center " is an employee of the Onvisource ofice in Enid  Oklahoma. The other office is in Plano Texas. It's ineed a scam, they make money by raising your rates, verizon trys to restrict them but can't, when the customer agres over a recording. Faye is one of many new sales reps for Onvisource and she is simply doing what she was trianed to do. Scam!!!!

Actually, our representatives do send out renewal proposals upon request by the customer. These are documents that have been approved by the master contract agent VGE. Onvisource is a legit company working on behalf of Verizon. Verizon partners with many outsource companies to do their outbound calling to their business customers. It is all verifiable by looking on https://www22.verizon.com/indirectsales/findvzpartner.aspx. From there you will find Find a Verizon Solutions Partner. From there you will find VGS
Web Site: http://www.vgei.com.
Venture Group Enterprises is the company who has the "master contract" with Verizon. VGE subcontracts about 20 other companies who do the same exact thing as Onvisource. Believe it or not, Onvisource has a very strict policy in effect. There are no lies aloud. When we are on the phone with customers, we are to say "I am calling on behalf of Verizon." I do assure you that the few agents who have said they were Verizon in the past, were discharged. Also, Onvisource employees do not work strictly off of commission. We actually get a very good base pay. The commission that so very little, it is not even important to the employees. Another thing, every single call is recorded. There is no way for an agent to turn off the recorder. So, to sum it up, we do work on behalf of Verizon to renew your existing service agreement that is expired or is up for renewal within the next 6 months. We are not allowed to renew an account that is more than 6 months out. Also if your account is renewed by Onvisource, it does not take effect until your current term expires. Also, you can verify that you have the custopak, centrex or centranet service by looking on your Verizon Business Telephone bills. It is clearly stated under the monthly recurring and nonrecurring charges section of your bill. It will also show your term length and initiation date. Another thing, is that if you call Verizon directly, most of the customer services do not know anything about outsourcers, and you would surely need to speak to a spoervisor to ask more direct questions regarding this. It is true that if you are in a term agreement with Verizon, that if you do not renew the term, your line rates will be increased to the current month to month rates, which can be significantly higher than what you currently pay. Think about it, if we were going to scam you, why would we say in the confirmation that we are renewing your Verizon services and even give you the early termination fees and all the correct information. Also, if you doubt it, ask the agent to pull up your bill. Obviously, if we can pull up all of your bills and service information we are Authorized Verizon Solution Providers. For anyone who has had a bad experience with a Onvisource should call in and speak to a supervisor, because we do take our contract with VGE/ Verizon very serious and shady agents are disciplined up to including discharged immediately. Before you slander our company, you should do the research.
