I also am getting calls from the 866-922-0274 number during all hours of the day and night. It was getting creepy and annoying so I decided to search the internet for an answer and came across this page. I ignored the calls for about three months but then decided to answer. I immediately was put on-hold and was listing to some bad Indian music that was full of static. Then someone got on the phone and started talking to me in the Indian language with a tone that sounded like a stalker then they hung up on me. I'm not sure what to except call Sprint. Maybe even switch to the iPhone and ditch Sprint all together. I guess Sprint things they are saving money by contracting with India and having those people harass us and take all of our social security numbers (they certainly never offer any help). Cheers~

I just got a call from this number (866-922-0274).  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.  After reading some of the comments above it wouldn't surprise me if this is sprint calling.  I am currently a sprint customer... I recieved calls like this back in Feb 2008 from ph# 866-463-3021... it turned out to be Sprint trying to offer me something.  I couldn't really understand them because of all the background noise and the thick indian accent.

This was taken from another site:

Here's a copy of the e-mail reply that I recvd' from Sprint
"Thank you for contacting Sprint.  I understand you received a call
asking to renew your contract.  I will certainly assist you with this
call.

I have gone through your account notes and found no note wich indicates

that the call was made from our end.  That might be a spam or fraud
call.  Please do not disclose any personal security information with
such calls.

Further, the 2 year subscriber agreement for your line is scheduled to
satisfy on September 19, 2008.

Thank you again for contacting Sprint.  I always look forward to assist

the valuable customers like you."

Sincerely,
Ronny T.

I received several calls from the 0274 number. I didn't bother calling them back and never paid much attention to it since they do not leave me a message. Now I know who they are. Curiosity satisfied. As for the person's comment about badgering them until they give you "hush money", I recently complained about something to them and they immediately offered me money back off my bill to compensate for the time I had lost trying to figure out what was worng on my own. I didn't have to badger them; they just did it. I thought it was an odd practice, but I took the discount and ran. However, the problem remains! They never fixed it. So, rather than deal with an incompetent company that cannot satify my needs as a PAYING customer, I'm looking into new companies. There are plenty out there for sure. I'm thinking of changing my voice mail to say specifically to those two numbers: "The number you have reached has now been changed to another company. Find another sucker...BEEP."

I wouldn't blame Sprint, because I doubt it's them: I think it's "phishing." I just fielded a call from that number, and after asking how my service was, the caller ASKED FOR MY ACCOUNT PASS-CODE. When I politely refused, she said I could call back the same number that appeared on caller I.D. to continue, but how does that help since I can't verify that it's really Sprint? Don't be a fool and "renew" or "upgrade" your service from a cold call, or by calling back to a mystery number.

I tried the "free" reverse phone number searches and they came up empty. Reversephonedirectory.com claims to have the info, but will charge $5 for it. Googling that number didn't turn up anything obviously legit like a Sprint web site; THIS discussion was the top match. So I called Sprint customer service instead (*2) and reported it; the rep didn't know what to do with it, but filed it.

So who is it? Almost certainly an identity thief with the brass to provide a trace-back. The fact that this has been going on, from the same source, for at least seven months now (according to these posts) suggests there's something weird about that number.

I didn't answer call but I called back after reading a few comments here. Caller is Sprint Loyalty - some mumbo-jumbo about a $70 instant credit for extending contract another 24 months.  I told Sprint a long time ago NOT to solicit my cell phones, but they do it anyway.  I'll be looking for another provider.

I just answered my phone when someone called from this number.  Said they were with Sprint and had a special offer for me as being a loyal customer blah blah blah.  He asked if I was interested and I said that it depends on the offer.  He then said "uhh" and hung up on me.  I guess that response wasn't in his script.  What an idiot.  Do these people not want to make money?

I emailed ecare2@cc.sprintpcs.com after getting a couple of calls from this number.  This is the email response I got from them:

"Thank you for emailing Sprint. I understand your concern regarding the promotional calls.
I apologize for the inconvenience causedregarding the promotional calls.I have blocked the feature of promotional calls on your account. Now,you would not receive any promotional calls from Sprint.
Sprint appreciates your business and I am only an email away if you have any other concerns. "

This is what I wrote:
*I'm a Sprint customer, my cell # is ---------.
I want to stop getting any type of calls from you.  I'm not interested in 'special offers'.  In fact, now that my contract has expired, getting another annoying call from you will only make CANCEL my plan. Not only that, but since I have in the past requested to be removed from your calling list, I will find a way to file a formal complaint.*

So there IS a way to stop the calls without having to waste your time calling them (we all know how long that takes!)

I received this call at 7:15 PM Pacific time 08-20-08 and after about 30 seconds hung up.  I then dialed *2 on my cell phone and contacted Sprint customer service who tried to search for the number and said it wasn't one of the numbers they use.  So do not give them any information at all.

I is a legit sprint number, and since my contract is running out soon, i decided to listen to the deal.  Before she would tell me, she asked for my security pin number.  Only a moron would give out personal information on an incoming call, I had yet to verify that it was really sprint.  I told the lady she was crazy for asking that, and she got all flustered and didn't know what to do. Took her a couple of minutes to finally give me a very crappy offer to renew my contract.

i called the number back. it is for sprint customers and is their 'customer loyalty program'.  basically it means that you are coming to the end of your contract and they want to sign you up for another 2 years.  they offered me a $50 credit on my current bill.  i think it's lame that they call and don't leave a message.  they call every day at least once a day.  i declined their offer and asked to be removed from the call list.  we'll see how that goes...

I signed a 2 year contract with Sprint which is about to expire.  Each month they kept raising the taxes & fee's on my monthly bill by .15 to .40.  What Sprint is doing is illegal & unethical.  They can raise fee's and taxes once my contract has expired, but they can't raise them on the original contract.  Each month I had to call in to get this corrected.  It was a hassle and I will be leaving Sprint next month due to their business practices.  This does not create customer loyalty.  I've had enough.

I called the# back from my land line. You get a recording that says "If you are calling from your Sprint phone you will not be charged air time. Thank you for calling the Loyalty Group" then it rings and with a really bad connection I get someone who answered the phone "Thanks you for calling Sprint"
