i got a call from that stupid 866 number, what scared me was they wouldnt stop calling me i had 14 missed calls from 6:30 a.m. to 1 in the afternoon, i thought they were cars sales man or something, finally im online and i went on google to look at where this number was coming from, after reading the messages here i was like "wow, i could of got scammed sick!!" hopefully they stop calling me i would like to turn on my phone.

I got a total of 8 calls from these people today. The first 4 times they called they called like every 15 minutes. I never answered the calls but its just irritating. I just signed up in the do not call registry, hopefully that will work.

someone please tell these a**holes to stop calling me.... they have called a minimum of 5 times a day for the past 3 days. im not stupid and i still havent answered when they call. If i dont know the number, i dont answer!

this number has been calling me like every other hour all day today...they keep asking for some guy and i tell them wrong number but they just wont stop calling me

I have also received calls on my cell phone from both this number AND (866)927-9023 the past few days. Warning this is a scam!!! They will try to sell you magazines under a few different company names...Active Periodicals, IMC, Mailbox Magazines etc. Some have even gone so far as to say it is for fundraising. A few years ago I was sucked into this and made my payments. After the money stopped coming out after a year, I thought that was it. That was from early 2004 until early 2005. After that my bank just so happened to change all of their debit card numbers when they upgraded their security system so the card number they had was no longer active. Thank Goodness! Since then I receive a call ever so often on my home phone trying to force me into another card number saying I have not fullfilled my payment obligations. I even have a letter from the company saying I owe no further payments, but the caller always states that I was mistaken and that only covered the first half of my contract. They tried on my home phone almost 2 weeks ago and have now moved on to my cell phone. I have made complaints to various police departments when I can google the number but just to let everyone know, from what the police have discovered, they are bouncing the number off of other people's numbers or are investing in disposable cell phones. It seems like they surface every few months if you read all of the different complaint sites. Sorry about the long post, but I wanted everyone to know what this was. Good luck and be careful because many people have had their accounts charged without even giving their information. These callers already have it, so keep a close eye on your account and you might even want to go ahead and change your bank card numbers.

I received 6 missed calls in ONE day from this company!! Finally, when I did pick up, a woman from IMC(whatever that is), claimed I won a sweepstakes prize and went on to talk about magazines. I said I don't want to enter any sweepstake and I want to opt out of this thing. Then she said 'ok' and we hung up. I have never heard of IMC and I'm wondering the same thing, how did they get my cell phone number, my name, and know I had a visa or mastercard?? But when I asked the woman how she got my information, she replied that I owned a credit card, but she didn't say with which company, so I think she doesn't know which credit card company I'm with. Anyway, I will take the advice some of you posted and I will contact my credit card company and cancel my current card. And change my number. Thanks for the info.

I have got 2 calls 2day from these people, i dont answer but they dont leave a message, so i assume its not that important what they have 2 say.  screw 'em lol

So do these people just end up not calling after a few days?

I am a HIGH SCHOOL student and I have gotten a call 6 times from both of the same numbers as Rhonda Page I think that we all have a common factor that is probably how these people are getting are names and numbers I have a feeling that in is something to do with some collage sights I have visited recently. this is really frustrating since just last week my bank notified me of some fraudulent charges made with my debit card, which is odd because it hasn't ever left my wallet. To bad people can't find a way to make an honest living!

I have been receiving several calls a day from this number. When I answer no one is there. When I call back all operators are busy. I am on the do not call list and yet they continue to call.

For a few days I've been getting the call from this number. First time I answered and a girl started talking about me as a selected person for the lotery or so. I told I didn't understand what she was talking about and she just hang up. I missed couple of calls and the next time I picked up the phone the person hang up. When I called back - "surprise" - the line was busy. I didn't pick up the phine for a few days and when I finally did, the guy told that I am eligiable for the lotery that will play $1 MILLION dollars on December 31st! and than continued with the offer of magazines for me to buy, like $4 per week for 4 of them. He already had my info about my home address and the bank I opened the account with. He told that since he is new in the company his supervisor will call me to make sure I got everything right. His supervisor, "Keena Matgett" explained me the deal with the magazines one more time and also assured that he'll send me a Dimond Watch :-) nothing was mentioned about the lotery (those guys should agree on a common thing between themselves :-)
  keena started "verifying" my address, the exparation date of my card and it's number. I cut him off on that one and he started to piss off. He told that he needs it to ship me the order and he represents an official company celling magazines, otherwise he would not get the info abou me (hah!) I told that I need to ask people about it and not going to give the number of my card. He became pushy and started raising his voice like I did not undestand how "safe" it is to give my card number! He gave me the info about his company so I could check. Guess what, there is no info on "IMC" located in Florida, but there are bunch of comments on the phone number!!! :-)

  It's good to learn from own mistakes but hopefully people will learn from ours!!! be Safe!

I just got a phone call at 9 am for this number 1 866-926-5425 and did't answer. In the past 2 days, I have been receiving phone calls from another number 866 927 9017. WTF!!??? How do I get rid of this and why are these people calling me everyday 10 times a day!

My calls from this number started today 10/22/08!  They have called my 12 , I answered a few of them, and they just sat there in silence but i could hear someone in the background.  On the 12th call I let my friend and answer, the girl finally spoke up and said she was giving a courtesy call from IMC (don't know who/what that is), and she informed her that they had called 12 times today, and asked what this was in reference to, and they hung up.  If anyone gets any info on how to stop this- Please post.  Thank you because this is ridiculous!

Two phone calls from this number jonto my cell yesterday.  I pickec up after the firet ring each time and it hung up instantly.

I read a post on  another site about this and i called the number they had for the company to call, so i called it and the guy said he gets several calls on this but its not his company...HOWEVER he was really nice and gave me the executive office of IMCs phone number 727-536-9990.  I called it and that said they have my number removed.  I SURE HOPE SO!!!

I am getting at least 3 calls a day from this number. Everytime I call it back, I get "all circuits are busy now.

I had been receiving numerous calls from this number.  I had never answered a call and knew that I had not given any bank or credit card information.  I called Verizon and asked them to block the number from calling my phone.  They were able to do this free of charge (up to 5 different numbers may be blocked without a charge).  I suggest that you call your phone company and have the number blocked.  If you feel that you may have given out any information, call your bank and cancel your card or put a new password on your account.

These a-holes have been calling me several times a day and hanging up. WTF? Does any one know who to call go report this harassment?

This number has been calling my cell phone, which is unlisted, for the past week. Each day I receive at least 2 calls. When I try to call back I get a busy signal. When I tried to answer, it immediately hung up on me! SOooooooOOOo annoying!

They called my cell phone this morning.  I have been getting a lot of calls over the past few days from Imc, Inc.  I wonder how they got my phone number and wish they would stop calling.

some lady called me sayin i was a finalist to win a million dollars sayin that their  records show that i have a visa card and said i already won a diamond quartz watch i know its a scam because im only 17 and i dont even have a visa card or any card at that matter

I just started receiving calls from 8669265425 after I completed a survey to win something from DIY Netwoork. They called 5 times last night and once this morning. I turned my phone off so I don't know how many more times they have called today. They called every hour on the hour!!

Also, on the survey I checked "no" on all the questions asking if I wanted to receive information about anything...

I have gotten calls from this # at least 10 times, when i do pick up, a man said is this "my name here", i didnt say anything and it hung up, i called back and it said all operators are busy.

This number just called me. They've called 2x's today. They said that I was selected in a drawing for Visa or Mastercard's perferred customers. Asked me if I had a visa and/or mastercard, I said no because I didn't want to give any information, asked if I had a visa debit.. said no again and they disconnected with me. I do not understand how they got my cell phone number since I do not have a home phone and how they got my name. I would be careful of this number, it appears to be a scam.

Received several calls from this number.  I called it back and it says "Thank you for calling IMC Inc.".  I have no business dealings with this company.
