Everything I see about this says it's DirecTV, but when I called it, it goes to United.  They never called any of my personal numbers, but called my work on my day off and spoke with three different people in our customer service call center (I'm in the directory to go to my desk voicemail?).  They left a claim number, so I am suspecting it is an issue with a paid off debt I have that for some reason keeps getting sold to collections agencies.  I have been fighting it for months with different agencies!

I googled the number while it was calling as I was still at work...I saw it was Directv so I answered it. It was nothing negative or pushy and I guess I always expect that from "customer calls". This lady was very pleasant and let me know I had HBO and Cinemax for the next 3 months for being a good customer and that they appreciated my business with them. When getting all the details, everything she said was right and it was not a scam or a negative experience.

It's DirecTV, they are offering a Stars/Encore promotional, something about it's free for 30 days, and then you call and cancel if you don't want it, but if you keep it for 90 days, Stars will send you a $25 check

This number is calling and is annoying.  I just don't answer; do they leave a message--hell no.

This number keeps calling and I don't answer.  Please put me on the no-call list. I believe it's direct tv.

Got a call, I answered.  They said nothing, then hung up.

Just spoke with DirecTV about this number.  It IS one of their customer service numbers, used to call and verify that you authorized recent changes to your account.  Confirmed by calling 800-DIR-ECTV.

Got a call from this number stating they were from directv and was offering me Starz for 3 months.. Called directv when I noticed no Starz activated.. Directv stated they're numbers always start with 800, not 866 and it was a scam. I told them that they should send an email notification stating that because this number calls repedetly and making Directv look bad.

They left a message saying "This is Allied Collection.  Any information gathered will be used to pay off your debt".  SCAM

Directv sucks!!! If I wanted the HBO/SHOWTIME I would add it myself.  Just say no thanks and have a good day hangup....

Just got a call from these guys while at work. I just cut back on services and I am about to cancel them because they do not carry the PAC-12 network...They kept saying a deal was comming during Football season and now they still don't have a deal after Basketball season. And now they want to sell me other Sh**!

I got a call from this # at 2:27 pm, but wasn't available. No v/m msg was left, so I called them back. They said "We apologize, but no one is available to take the call. PLease leave a msg.". I didn't!!  If they call again when I can take, I will blow a whistle in the mouthpiece to makethem deaf for a few minutes!!!

I have even told them to take me off their "offer" list! It stops for awhile but then I get calls again.

I called Directv today to make changes on my account. I've been getting these same calls as all of you sometimes 3 times a day with the same issues, no one on the line, call back and cant leave a message, ect... When I adjusted my account today the last thing i asked about was the number that kept calling me. Without hesitation the nice lady helping me said that she would take care of it. No more that 30 minutes later the same number called and someone actually was on the line. Trying to sell me Starz and a $25 check for trying. I said no to all. If it is directv they are harassing us. If it's not, then they have sold our phone numbers out, big time...

I called DirecTV today, 06/11/2012, at (800) 531-5000.  The representative said that she worked for DirecTV, not AT&T, that she had access to outgoing call records.  According to her, DirecTV has not initiated any calls to me.  It is possible that the caller is a third party installer which has a contract with DirecTV to find and connect new customers.  I receive through the U.S. Mail monthly envelopes of coupons from Valpak.  In the latest envelope were two coupons for DirecTV.  These or similar companies may be responsible for the (800) 928-0183 calls.  The telephone representative had a suggestion that I am hesitant to take: answer the phone and wait for an automated message about opting out of future calls.  I might be told to enter a 3-digt number, for example, to stop future calls.  I am concerned that such action would only confirm that my number is active.  Like virtually everybody else who has posted here, I am on the national "do not call" registry and recently confirmed that my number is still listed.  A company that is currently breaking the "do not call" law certainly would not care about, offer, or honor any opt-out solution.

DTV at it's finest,  I stored the number on my cell phone so when they call again,  I'll just reject the call or not answer and let it go to vm....

Do not CALL!!!! They never leave a message and now they are calling my cell number, how do they get that number???

Called DirecTV and they stated that they make these promotional calls.  I asked if they would want me to call them and hang up or never leave messages and they stated "No that would be FRUSTRATING!"   Hmm imagine how your customers feel.  How about leaving a message so we know how and what number to call back to let you know you are wasting our time.   About to cancel DTV for harrasing customers that could care less about your promotions.

I was getting call from this #. I searched it said it was coming from DTV.
My dish is with them, so I called their regular #, and asked them why they were calling to solicit me when I already have an account with them.
They told me it was special promotions, and such. I asked them to remove my #.
The man said it was done, and get another call from them today!
One month to the date later.
I'll just ignore the 866 # from now on.

I'm soooo tired of random businesses "stalking" me!!! Direct TV and Macy's BOTH do this! I am on automatic payments so it is not that I am late on a payment. This is incredibly annoying! Just another reason to  cancel Direct TV when my contract is up!.

Yet again they call me after I told them not to ... if they call again I'm calling DirectTV themselves and blasting them. I have no problem going to Dish Network ...
