No, Capitol One appended my number to a delinquent account. I have no account and so they never had me telephone number.

So far 21 calls in 4 days, Friday - Monday. That is fraud, harassment and unlawful and I think multiple violations of the FDCPA. The "P" is questionable.

It is their mistake. Capitol One is appending telephone numbers to accounts based on similar names. My telephone number is attached to an account based on the initial of my first name and my last name. I have recorded six calls one day and already another call this morning.

I propose a class action for Washington State residents that have been harassed by these scumbags.

Six calls in one day so far from these a***oles so far for a Michelle. I guess it is time to file suit against them for harassment. The I found almost a thousand complaints about Capitol One calling and harassing people up to eight or more times a day.

Absolute proof that Capitol One harasses people that do not have any remote association with them. I will file when I get the time to do so. How many times can you say scum sucking pieces of s***?

I have blocked their number so I will see if I can be compensated for calls they attempt to make that I never receive. The idea of punitive damages is to punish the perpetrator so they do not violate the law again. Let?s see if the Judge will bite.

I am seeking other Washington state residents that have had the same problem with Capitol One for a potential class action against Capitol One.

An added piece of information. To stop the calls they needed an account number or a social security number. I have no account number and I don?t do business with them so they wouldn?t be able to use my social security number except to steal from me.

Just today this number has called 4 times. Twice now I have told them we are not interested and to stop calling this number before they even get to say something other than "hello". I am starting to lose my patience with them.

3 calls from this number every day!!! I called them and they aslk for my last 4 of SS number and DOB!!!

I get them too. i have an adroid phone....downloaded "Blocker" now i just block them! not sure if itunes has this app but it works great.

They call my house approximately 2-3 times per day. Won't leave a message. Today they called 5 times.

JACK***ES!  Its Capitol One credit card collection department. Fancy description for people who get your phone number, even though you dont have a card wth them,and If you do choose to answer the call expect the person on the other end to not even have the ability to speak in a way you can understand.

They have the nerve to call on Saturday and Sunday as well....

You probably gave them your number when you filled out the application for the charge account.

This call from Capital One calls two to three times a day. I have no type of accounts associated with this company and they need to stop calling

Got calls from this number and from 813-202-7244 and they don't leave messages. One call came up as Cap One and the other came up as Unknown number. We don't answer nubers we don't recognize. Judging by what I am reading from these messages here and on another page these are scammers calling.

I get calls from this # when I'm a little late on my payment. The person tell me they can give me an extension if I give them my card info and authorize an automatic payment on the extension date. However, they wanted to charge me an extra $40. As the conversation went on the fee went up to $60 dollars. I told them never mind and that I will make a payement online. The guy told me not to pay online and that he could take care of it. I went online to pay my bill and their was NO extra fee. These guys are collectors that charge an extra fee to take your payement. I did pay once through them and it went to my account, however they charge a collection fee.

Received multiple calls from this number in the last few weeks. No message.

record every call. after you tell them to dnc (do not call) you number, it is a $1000 sanction for every violation. You can sue. and easily win.

As a debt collector (for gov't) myself, if this is legit, BY LAW (fdcpa & glba laws) if you ask them WHO they are they are required to tell you. It's illegal if they don't. I can't stand debt collectors who break the law to try to meet their goal. Its ridiculous. Wrong number or self, by law they are required to tell you.

they call sometimes two or three times a day.  just annoying because I have an answering
machine.  they hang up after the machine kicks in.  They don't leave a message.

I got a call today looking for Mary... Same thing about removing our number from their system

ive received 4 calls from this number today, and its only 1 oclock. i received 7 calls yesterday (sunday). when i answer, noone says anything

Folks, it's a scam.
Nearly all of Capitol One's 800 numbers are in fact 800 numbers.
They have no 813 numbers.
The "apply for a credit card" account for capital one is 1-800-695-5500

DO NOT give these people ANY info.

Just received a call from this number asking for someone who doesn't even live here.

Called twice looking for some "Mary".  

She did not identify herself or her company as far as I know, but it was hard to tell what she was saying.  She was mumbling to such a degree that i couldn't tell what 80% of what she said was. Part of it was along the lines of having the number removed from their system within 72 hours.

I have had the phone number for ten years and there never has been any Mary reachable by the number.
