Fake names such as Linda Flores or Antonio Williamson are used.  Caller tells victim that he is with the FCC "federal consumer protection agency" division, and that a large sum of money, usually several hundred thousand dollars, is waiting for the victim, but that a 1% insurance fee musts be paid via western union to complete the transfer,  or some other means.  Very aggressive.  I informed the FCC of the scam, thinking they might be interested, particularly since the caller identifies himself as a federal agent with the FCC and has a Washington D.C. area code, but they chose to take no action.

I got the same phone call!! I called back and blocked my number. I googled them before calling and found a couple of websites stating the same thing you said. That they claim that you are titled to a large sum of money and all they need is money in return. Well I basically attacked the guy because he wanted to call me back and I said if you are needing any kind of cash transaction from me, it ain't happening!! So he hung up on me :-) Always research before calling these bozo's back...

A guy named Adrien called me with an African accent and/or Island's accent, it seemed pretty phony and I was on my way to work. And he was very aggressive and I didn't like that at all. He said he was sending out two checks and then told me that I needed to pay 1% for insurance fees. It seemed kind of funny, but I didnt care until he started harrassing me and kept calling me back while I was at work.

I wished I'd changed my name from Barry Young to Linda Flores Monelle. I'd have a far happier life on here
