Here is something fascinating: the telephone number from which Sterling and Seymour supposedly calls to harass people is actually a phone number for the Service Master company. Service Master is a national company engaged in disaster and flood repair services. After normal business hours their number, 866-981-6464, the number from which Sterling and Seymour is allegedly calling, is answered by Answer Phone America at their call center in Florence, South Carolina. When I called this  number at 9:00 today a very pleasantg person informed me, "Sir, I have no idea what you are talking about. We answer calls for 700 companies nationally and the collection companies you have just named are not anyhwhere on my customer list."

OOPS! Now these guys are flirting with big-time federal communications issues. Perhaps Kurt should check and see if being COO qualifies him for a better cell in federal prison.

The guy shown as COO of the various "Collection Companies" - Sterling and Seymour, Nichols and Grant, N & G Capital is named Kurt Cielsielski. He is from the Cheektowaga (N.Y.) area and ,lives in Depew, N.Y., where Sterling and Seymour are supposedly located. Cielsieski is roughly thirty years old, graduatred from the local high school (Cleveland Hill in Cheektowaga, N.Y.) and has a work history at other credit companies. He is also on Facebook. I got a call this  morning from one of his toxic little elves with all the usual trappings....threats, police, arrest, destroy my credit....just pay us now, etc. This nut even claimed that he was calling from a law firm. I live in Massachusetts where the laws and rules about credit collection are very clear and very stiff. The word fraud comes to mind. Having found Cielsieski's connection to Sterling and Seymour I called their number, 716-204-1800, but a recorded message said the call could not be completed....I assume it is disconnected.

So, since our boy Kurt likes to play and since he is on Facebook, a very public place for a scoundrel to be, I suggest we all send him a message on his Facebook page and/or post a little story about how he does business on our own pages. Let's make Kurt Cielsienski famous. After all, he is a very young COO in a cutthroat business --- I am sure he would be grateful for the publicity --- give his career a little boost. Best of all, the dope avctually has his picture posted on LinkedIn and a few other places. My bet is this: our boy Kurt is a nobody with mediocre skills and not much education. Somneone made him COO knowing that he craves a title and this same someone, when the mud hits the fan, will claim that he knew nothing about what Kurt and those awful employees were doing.

Something interesting: Nicholds and Grant and the other so-called collection companies/law firms show an address of 3806 Cheektowaga, New York, but Sterling and Seymour is listed as being at 107 Sebring Drive in Depew, N.Y.

This same thing happened to me. I cancelled my card today. I paid the money but felt something was not right. I contacted my sister who is an attorney and she faxed me documents on this fake law firm. I am waiting for them to contact me when that old debit card does not go through with that next transaction I told them to take out in two weeks.

Consumer Rights

The FTC enforces the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which outlines consumer rights and prohibits debt collectors from engaging in unfair, deceptive, and abusive practices.

The key to protecting yourself -- and your sanity -- is to know your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Debt collectors may not:

- Harass you, your spouse, or any other third party.

- Make threats of violence or abuse.

- Threaten legal action if it is not lawful or there is no intent to do so.

- Attempt to collect any amount greater than the actual debt.

- Contact you at inopportune times, such as before 8:00 a.m. and after 9:00 p.m.

- Continue to contact you after you have requested in writing that they stop.

If you believe that a debt collector has violated your rights and the practices contained in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, you can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and your state Attorney General's office.

Many states also have debt collection laws that go above and beyond what is provided in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Your state Attorney General's office will have knowledge of these laws.

Victims of debt collection abuse can also file a lawsuit against a debt collector in a state or federal court if they suspect their rights have been violated.

They called me right before christmas. Told me I owed $1700.00 on a $400.00 payday loan. I thought that was legit. They said it was fees and interest. That If I didn't pay right NOW I would be served papers the nexy day. That I would be charged with fraud and that they would put a lean on my car. They even had the type of car that I owned. If I had been thinking I would of realized that the bank owns my car as I am still making payments. I said I didn't have that kind of money. I said I could pay them $200.00. He put me on hold, said he needed to check with his attorneys. He came back on and said that I would have to pay $600.00 to stop all actions. I am a very stupid person I guess because I fell for this thinking that I was taking care of an old debt. Now I am out $600.00 and still owe the debt. I wish I would of known what I know now. If they call you don't give them anything. If they are legit they will send you info in mail than by law they have to accept what ever type of payment amount that you can do and they have to take it in what ever form you choose. DON'T give your bank info. I have sence cancelled my check card and got a new one. I just wish I knew what I could do to them. It made for a hard christmas........

I keep getting phone calls all throughout the days and this guy always leaves a voicemail when I let the maching pick up the call. He states he is calling from the law firm Sterling and Seymour and keeps stating that I commited internet fraud and yet he never says any names or info but says I must reply before further action is taken. At first I freaked out because I have never commited fraud and then after reading all the other things people have written I see this is all fake. Is there anything I can do to get them to stop bothering me. They call everyday and up to 5-6 times a day. I even some of the voice mails they have left?

This is a SCAM a** debt collector who's trying to disguise there company as a "Law firm" with there threatening messages.

If a Law firm has a law suit or plan on sueing you they will send it to you by mail informing you of it and the person or company that has hired them to collect what is owed. They do not call you multiple times a day every day all day. In fact they hope you don't respond so that they can take you to court.

Law firms don't hunt you down by calling you. So Sterling & Bitchmore can stick it up there A**! Fake a**!!!!! They probably purchased some bad debt from a payday loan company trying to get some money from there purchase. Don't give them your banking info or credit card info! There is NOTHING they can do to you legally. Thats why they call ALL the time! Hoping you fall for it...
