872-777-3228 rang 3 times, then they hung up. Never answer unknown numbers.

Called and left no message.  When you call back it says this number has not been assigned yet. Might be a fake response so they do not have to answer the calls.  Maybe just checking to see whose number is active.  I guess I will block it.

I just received a call from this number. When I answered an automated message came on congratulating me on winning some contest for a cruise I never entered. I just hung up.

Seriously people, why bother posting on these websites if you have nothing to say other then you didnt answer and dont know what the call was for? it just clutters and helps no one.

They called my personal cell. I never answer any unfamiliar numbers on my personal phone.

You never have to renew you number.

You know you do not have to renew your Do Not Call but every 5 years.

This is a Verizon number in Cook County, Illinois. I picked up the phone the same time that my answering machine did. They left no message on the machine. My phone is unlisted and on a National Do Not Call List as well as my state's Do Not Call List. Have you ever notice that these numbers are always either Sprint numbers or Verizon numbers.

Unwanted phone calls

Called my cell, which is on the DO NOT CALL List.  Didn't recognize number so I didn't answer.  They left no message.  I'm blocking them.

Block a number that has called you in iOS 7
Open up the Phone app at the bottom of every home screen. At the bottom of the window you should see 'Recents'. Click this. You will see a list of recent callers.

Click the i next to the number you wish to block. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the option to 'Block this Caller'. Click it and confirm your choice. That's it!

This number claims to be Carnival Cruise and asking for a credit card right away to book my cruise to Mexico.  Well it's already booked and he hung up on me.  Scam number

Just, 03/12/2014 at 6:11pm CDT, got a call from 1-872-777-3228 and my Caller ID showed Out-of-Your Area ...... I did not answer because it was an 800-series number, becasue I am not the DO NOT CALL list since it started, and renew every year, and I do not answer any callers which do not show, on my Caller ID, a name or business I know .....

It appears to be a royal carribean advertising thing.  Pick up and they try to get you to a sales person.

I just got a call about 5 mins ago from this #.  I answered but no one answered back, nothing said so I hung up.  Then I found this posted info. I save the #'s under Scammers.  I have about a dozen saved under it. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Andrew for reminding me I can block numbers in my cell.  Not at 29 yet but on my way.

You should had not "pressed 1" but instead hung up. What did they say in the VM?
