I got a call from this same number . the guy on the other end was really hard to understand.what I did get from the conversation though was I'd won a large sum of money and a car from PCH..the guy even went as far as to having me write down a check# 68-7732.and just like that, the phone went dead..

Can you block this number from your phone. Lots of cell phones have that capability. OOMA does too. Nice feature to have in this scamming world

I didn't answer it either since I don't know anyone in Jamaica. But then, since I have a smart phone, I blocked his number. Very easy to do. Now if he calls back, it won't even ring through.

I got the same call, he asked me for my address but when I was hesitant and asking more questions since I didn't feel comfortable giving a stranger my address, he got angry with me and was accusing me of thinking he was a thief and a murderer. Ok bye dude.

This number from Jamaica called a few times...I never answered the calls.
Trying to think of a good line that will scare them off.
Can you get in trouble for saying you're cooperating with the Police/FBI?

I won a new Mercedes to be delivered by UPS and 5 million.  I laughed and hung up.

This person called and told my husband that he had won a pch prize of 5 million and a Mercedes. Was asked to wire money for the taxes on it to New Port, Jamaica. Don't fall for it. Its a scam. Pch requires no money in any form sent to claim a prize.

I work for an answering service and this number keeps leaving messages for one of our clients. Claims to be  Michael Johnson with Publishers Clearing House about a cash prize that has not been received yet, but I could hear him turning pages like he is reading from a script and there was a screaming child in the background.

They still keep calling me dozens of times.  You really need to report this to the police!  We told them to stop calling and they still keep calling.  You need to report this to the police.  Even my counselor told them to stop calling as well.  I've been seeing Private caller & Unknown numbers on my caller ID.  They just still keep calling me dozens of times.  Please call the Non Emergency Police.

called saying i won 5 million and a Mercedes benz. wanted it confidential until after the reciept of winnings was made.

This number called me and say something about a sweep stacks. I told him not the call me anymore, he told me the F# @k me.

It was very important to this person that I repeat a series of numbers back to him. When I informed him that there was no need since I was recording the call, he hung up. Imagine that.

Got a call from a Jamaican claiming he calling from publisher clearing house! Told him I on the no call list, he said he mean no disrespect! Yeah yeah click!

Got called this morning on cell phone 7 am and glad we didn't answer.  

Don't worry about how they got your number.  They will take a known cell phone prefix like 808-754-xxxx and just add random or sequential digits at the end.  People did this back in the 90s (yes I'm that old) for a different kind of scam.  I would be at at a high tech company late at night and all of the phones would ring in sequential order.  It was people looking for computer systems connected to the phone system that they would try to break into.  Like the guy in the movie War Games.

Got a call today from this number on my cell while I was at work.  He said in some middle eastern accent that I had won some sort of sweepstakes.  I cut him off by just saying "no thank you".  He got reall quiet and asked me to repeat myself, so I said no thank you again.  LoL he had the audacitiy to ask me "WHY??"!!  Hahahaha, I just told him to have a good day and hung up.  Sheesh, what a joke.  I just worry about elderly people who might fall for this crap.  I don't have a BOH account either so now I'm wondering how he got my number.

The best thing to do is nothing. Don't talk with them as they will simply try to upset you..
The calls are coming out of Kingston, Jamaica and they are in the same timezone as New York. They are 6 hours later than us. Don't be surprised if they wake you at 3AM, best to shut off your ringer/phone at night.
Google "Operation JOLT". It is a joint task force to investigate this kind of Fraud. Here in Hawaii it is a SINGLE PARTY consent state, this means you CAN record their calls and NOT tell them. If they threaten you provide Maui County Police with the recordings, but rest assured they are nowhere near the islands.
Don't lose any sleep over this, give them NOTHING if they call back (they will).....

I'm in Hawaii too...Maui.  Thanks for you post about the Jamaican fraud caller.  He called me this morning at 8:15.  This is the second time he's called.  I didn't answer either time as I didn't recognize the number for one; and second, I don't know anyone from Jamaica.  Thank goodness for caller ID.

You said you're in law enforcement.  Is there anything I can do to report him?  What is JOLT?

I received a call from this number (876) 277-3605 (Jamaica) at 8:15 this morning but did not answer it as I don't know anyone in Jamaica.  Glad I didn't.  Thanks for all your posts about this guy.  This isn't the first time.  I didn't answer before either.

Can't we do anything about him?

Got a call from the local brother, saying "My Friend" and could barely understand. Wanted me to go to the bank and pull out 1500.00 to send him. Guy is smoking crack.

There was a lot of "My Friend" and very polite, barely understandable conversation. He congratulated me for my win of $2.5 million and another prize.
I hung up on him, and I'm waiting for him to call back. (Insert evil grin here)

same guy called me from 876-277-3605 said i won $2 million from publishers said he was Michael Anderson hard to understand with his accent, obvious scam wanted me to wire him money.  i played along for a few calls, then he realized i wasn't giving in; he got mad began swearing said bad things and other BS.  i called him back a dozen times asking for an apology, got his voice mail a few times, his message said he will pray for us and God Bless! I left a few messages and talked to him ten more times, and his manager, told them to stop lying and disrespecting people, stop swearing at them over the phone, pray for forgiveness and repent for all his sins.  he kept hanging up on me, told me he sold his soul to the devil for 30 thousand dollars in U.S. money.  I told him I wanted an apology and i would help him and pray with him.  I kept calling him asking him to wire me the money i won.  An hour later he apologized.  HE told ME to stop calling him!  HE was going to block MY number!    LOL ..  hehe..

They called my husband many times today from this number... and also a 876-505-6225 number saying they were Publisher's Clearing House..what a joke! They were harassing him all day while he was at work. They said that he won 10 million dollars and a BMW...then they told him that they payout 99% and that he needs to pay the 1% (499.99) payable through western union..they must think we are dummies! So my husband told the guy that he is not interested..so supposedly the guys manager came on the phone and said that is he does not want the money, that they could donate it to charity! So my husband told the manager "go ahead they could probably put it to better use than me" which caused the manager to get mad..and he said to my husband..... Mr.._______ !! F*** You! Which caused my husband to start swearing, so I grabbed the phone and I was also going to call the police. I also started recording the conversations and repeated harassment calls and told the caller that he is being recorded and that I am also calling the authorities. The guy was talking loudly and I said stop harassing my husband and how did they get the number!? and he said my husband filled out a coupon with his name and number...which was another lie! and he was overpowering my voice, so I hung up!! and they never called back after that. GOOD!!

I did just open a  bank account in Hawaii yesterday, hope thats not how they got my information!!

called my mother in-law may i say is 73 years old saying her life will get better told her her grandkids will be well taken cared of and guaranteeing her that she is a winner of 2 million dollars and she has a new car to pass down to them and all that...... he said his name was michael dafford claiming to be from american supple co. may i say it dosent even exist....so she went to send him the money and he told her to call him back and she did and it said her minutes have ran out and for it to say that when we have unlimited!! he said to send it to robbie mosely in belle glade florida 33430 so when i got home i looked it up and it said that robbie mosley is in a prison for parole violation in belle glade florida 33430!!!!

Caller claiming to represent Bank of Hawaii wanted to award me a large sum of money and some cash.
