Same story, second verse.  This apparently same person is now using the name John Peterson.  I have wasted a number of hours on this dude.  One time I heard a rooster crowing.  I just about laughed in the phone.  I knew this was a scam so led him on and on.  There is another telephone number that needs to be monitored.  It is: 1-876-295-5706
He gave me an account number and routing number of a bank to get money to pay off my credit card. Amazingly enough it worked.  However after I got it, I was called and told to get the amount of cash advance from my credit card account and go to Western Union.  I told him I was not about to do any such thing.  He then threatened me and told me he knew where I lived, described my house and said that the FBI was going to come and put me in jail.  I then called the FBI and described the phone calls, we then coordinated with my bank, the bank the money supposedly came out of, etc. They verified the account was a valid account but no money had been taken out of it.  Have I scammed the scammer?  It was not intentional.

I got a call from a guy named James Moore from Winners International in Las Vegas. First he asked if this was my home phone that I answered, I replyed you called me. He said that I needed to give him my home address and stay there because I had a certified check that needed to be delivered to my house. I kept questioning him on why I was receiving this check and he told me "because I had paid all my bills on time" Does he think I'm dumb? I asked for his name and phone number because I wanted him to speak to my husband and explain to him what he was trying to explain to me, because I was not going to give him any of my info over the phone. I also got no info on my caller id when he called my home. It just said "incoming call"

I also received this call, on my cell phone, Rommie McKenzie, same number.  He said you have a very special package here I need to get shipped to you.  I asked who it was from. he said Global International, Las Vegas.  I asked what it was and he said a certified check for $200,000. You have won $200,000 and a Mercedes.  Are you going to be home today?  We will deliver it today. I then asked where he got my phone number.  He said from the company that entered you in the drawing for paying your bill on time  Are you going to be home today?  We will deliver it today. I said great, bring it..  We will deliver it TODAY.  All you need do is send $75 for shipping??.  I told him I'd pay when they delivered the check.  "we must have it first - need payment before shipping",  Jamican accent I believe and I heard children in back ground at one point and he tried to muffle the sound.  The address he gave me to send the money was St. James, Jamaica,  "and just put WI  at the end of that" he said.  I told him you just hold your breath until I do and hung up.  He called back and said we got disconnected.  I told him I had recorded his call and was reporting him to the authorities because he was a scam artist.  He said "why you say that?".

He call back about 20 mintues later and told my husband he had won ---bla, bla, bla.  My husband told him he had been reported to proper authorities and if he called again he's take out a warrant for his arrest.  The man hung up immediately.   Of course this only happened today so we'll see if he calls again.

This guy called me this morning with the same 550,000 prize for paying my cell phone bills on time that other people have described above.  Pretty ridiculous.  This time he identified himself as 'Larry Brown'.  I'm not sure what the accent was, but it could have been Jamaican as other people think; I also think I heard kids playing in the background.  Obviously this number is calling a lot of people over a long period of time, which makes me wonder if this scam is actually working sometimes!  Scary...

The same "James Moore" with a Jamaican accent called from global international said that I had won a sweepstakes, then said I paid my bills on time and that I had won 77,000. Then as I asked more questions he said that I also won a BMW and that I needed to be home to receive the package.  Then with just a payment of 300 dollars that all these prizes would be mine. He just needed an adress.
I told him I'd call him back and never did because I came to the computer to google it. He's called back multiple times.

This is most indeed a scam!

James Moore called me at my office number from Gold Rush/ Winners International.  He referenced Ronnie McKenzie / Jamaica and a phone # of 1 876 295-5839.  Told me that I had won $800,000 for second prize in the sweepstakes from a company in Australia. Immediately sensed this was a scam and started asking him for information. He replied in very general terms and kept indicating that I was a winner and that this was a "lot of money"

Played him along and wasted his time.  I ended up thanking for the the amusing phone call, and he stated "Sir - you are an a$$."  Final confirmation that this was a scam.

Individual had a Jamaican accent and was calling from a noisy environment.  Keep them on the phone and waste their money and time - that may help keep someone else from getting scammed!

I just got a call from this number. I couldn't understand where the caller said he was from(he had a heavy accent) but he said I needed to stay at home today to receive my check for $600,000 because I'd paid all of my bills on time. He said he was working with Bank of America (I don't) and that I had a car coming too for "paying all my bills on time" but that I would need $250 for my $600,000 check to clear and would I be home today and did I have $250 on me right now? I can't believe I stayed on the phone that long, but he hadn't asked any personal information except if I was going to be home. Now I'm pretty concerned. How could this scam possibly be working?

A guy named John called and he said that he is calling from a card holder's company call The Internation Winner and asked if I recieved my package yet? I thought it was something that I order from ebay, but it was a different package. He said that I must stay home to recieve my package, and asked how much do I have in my bank account, and he wanted me to take all my money out by writing a check to myself and head out to Western Union. Once they come to my house to give me the package which was a check of 1.5 Billion dollar and I had to give them my money and they will take me to the bank to cash the 1.5 million check. (Does he really think I'm stupid?) I laugh and hung up on him, because I thought that someone was pulling a prank on me, but then he called and called again! I pick up and he raised his voice by saying, "Why you hang up on me?!) (He has a accent) I told him that my phone went out of battery. He kept on asking when will I stay home tomorrow so they can deliever the package and I hung up on him. He kept on calling and calling, but I still didn't pick up. That dumb guy needs to stop!
