Just got a call from mark reiner gave me his identification number of 140781. Said he was from pch and I won 875 thousand dollars and a white Mercedes. Of course I was offered a public or private delivery...how thoughtful of them seeing as my hairs a mess and all...big punch came at the end..gotta pay the fully refundable registration fee at wal mart. I hung up how surprising when mr. Reimer tried to callback but I didn't even waste my time. Gonna report this to the police and hope nobody falls for this scam. Looks like they have been busy from the other posts...jerks

Area code 876 is not North Carolina. 876 is Jamaica.

My dad received a call this morning on his cell phone ( Dec 28, 2013), man told him that he won 2.5 million and a car. Number came from North Carolina. (Be careful for this as a person can have a state ID but be calling from a computer from another country) I was sleeping at the time and he told me what all he had to say and showed me the notes that he took. I was sure when he started that it was a scam and defiantly when he showed me his notes that included PCH, Wal-Mart and green dot money cards. "Because he spent more than $45.00 he was put into drawing".

The man told him that he will need to go to Wal-Mart to meet with him and have two green dot money cards to cover the fees for the money and the car, $295 for money and $195 for the car. My dad told him that he does not have a drivers license any more and would not be interested in a car as he cant drive, man told him that it is already paid for and that he does not have to have a license to take it. Dad told him he does not have that kind of money he is on social security, man told him that he will have it right back when he puts the certified check into his bank that the man he meets will give him.

I asked him the normal questions, did he have an accent, he said yes but sounded like he can be from the states. This can be true as he lives now in NC but lived in Florida for so long and you are around many people from different cultures so you get used to accents. He said man will call him back and they will meet at Wal-mart and asked if Charlotte one is close to him. He said I'm not in NC I am visiting daughter in Wyoming, Man said that is fine, I can come up there in my private Jet. ( Really)

Gave him a number to call if he wants to confirm anything. I told him DO NOT call that number, let me look it up. I explained it can be a pay number, he asked what I mean, I said like the numbers for calling sex lines they charge for calling it, sorry it was the first thing I could think that an older not tech man would understand. He had already tried and it said restricted number, I told him don't do it again.

I hope he will listen, but this is a scam and I don't want him to be cheated out of the little fixed income he needs.

i just got the same phone said his name was Richard Walter and his badge number was 14050 gave me a confrimation number and wanted to meet at my bank to drop my prize off.

I received a phone call from this number this morning.  The voice was heavily accented and hard to understand.  The man claimed I should have received a mailing from Dvorak Motors a couple months ago, wanted to confirm my phone number and told me I had won $485,000 and a car.  I proceded to hang up.

I too received a call from this number. Could not understand the person so, I laid the phone down and left them talk as I do with all those type calls. A few minutes later the phone rang again. I picked it up and he was screaming in the phone.I again laid it down on the counter and left him talk. Number comes up to Montego Bay Jamacia. Big Scam

Yes, my daughter living in Fargo, North Dakota just called me, July 31, 2013 and said this phone number of 876-296-6082. She said the man said he was from PCH and that she was to tell no one about the call since it was a surprise. Was told that she needed to get two money orders, needed to cover the taxes on her prizes....totally nearly $1,000 and to meet someone at a later time that day to give over the money orders, once that was done she was to act surprised as they awarded her with $850,000 cash and a Mercedes Benz.
She played along and tried to get more concrete info from them to report them, but was not successful. The call is persistent and was even going to try to call her later to confirm if she had the money.

BEWARE...yes, this is a scam!!!! No company awarding a prize will insist on a money order or cash up front.

just got call when right to missed call,but not 10 seconds later my wifes cell rang, someone on the other end my wife could not understand so she handed me the phone. the person on the other end started getting all bend out of shape when i asked what he was calling about then i asked him why some fool from Jamaica would be calling me ,fool on other end said "f@#k you" at lease a half dozen times. i hung up on then .

I just received a call from 876-296-6082 and could not understand a word the guy was saying.  The only words I caught were "Publishers Clearinghouse" and pearl white Mercedes.  I said I wasn't interested.  His response?  F- you, F- you, F- you!
What a scam.

Same information as others  Said from publishers clearing house.  Walmart connection.  Stated it was a scam and hung up.

The very heavily accented man told me I won $850,000.00 from PCH and all I had to do was to go to walmart and purchase a card for the registration fee of $499.00
not sure where that money goes except for out of my bank account

My husband was called this morning May 27 2013 with this number and said they were 5 hours away from where I live with a Mercedes Benz.He just hung up knowing its a scam.

just got a call from this number an hour ago on my personal cell. numbers i dont recognize i dont answer. i dont answer my personal cell when im working. & i will google the number to find out where its from.

Jenn, thank you for sharing your experience here. Your actions were correct as there is never any reason to call back an "876" number. NEVER.

If these black stained rodents call again - and they probably will - please:

1) Try to prolong the call (ask to repeat information) and frustrate the caller (get inside its head.)
2) Try to determine exactly what information they have about you (usually it is just your phone number.)
3) Try to extract as much information from them as possible (there are MANY variants of this scam currently active) and
4) Record the call!

Just received a call from this number while I was at work, phone located it from Jamaica, no voicemail left.  I know nobody in Jamaica, so I don't care to return their call.

These filthy, little animals from Jamaica have been particularly active the past few weeks. When I asked one of these foul smelling rodents WHY I was selected to win 3.5 millions dollars, he told me (and please read this quote with a Jamaican accent,) "because you shop at the Walmart, at the KMart and you pay your taxes." Funny stuff!

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.

I just got a call from this number and the mentioned if I shopped at Walmart and that they're from Publisher's Clearing House.  I had some reservations b/c I knew it could be a scam.  Plus, the caller was hard to understand and sounded like he was from Jamaica.  Plus, he had the nerve to say F*** You.  So, of course, I hung up immediately.  I don't take kindly to people cussing me out.
