It may be a call from a Jamaican scammer. I've read they buy disposable 1000-minute calling plans for few cents/minute, then scam what they can from their "investment". http://www.wtng.info/wtng-1876-jm.html shows the numbering plan for Jamaica. If you click on the spreadsheet link under "Number range information", you'll see that 876-351-XXXX is a cell exchange operated by Digicel Jamaica so the caller could be anywhere on the island. Why don't you call your family? I think your family would like to know you got a call from Jamaica and perhaps you can caution them to be on their guard. Yes, gotta pay for an international call but surely worth the peace of mind?

got this call from Jamaica on my cell phone, normally I don't use it as a phone except in emergencies. I answered it as my family are at a resort in Jamaica and I thought perhaps something was wrong. This man was on the other end of the line, he asked if this was what sounded more like Sharlin than sharon. When I asked who he was, and that I didn't know him, he said " don't you" and at that point I hung up... I'm wondering if this person could have gotten my name from my families phone when they were out of their room at the resort... I would like to know what area in Jamaica that this number comes from?????
