They keep calling, trying to tell me I've won $.  First time they told me I won $160,000.00 the next time it was 2.5 million.  I told them I don't believe it because I've never entered any sweepstakes of any kind.  I told the second guy who called me that when I called them back the first time & asked who they were they hung up on me, & he said These guys in Jamaica have all our calling records &  people are calling the FBI on them but they are calling legitimately, but I didn't tell him that the first person who called me was a Jamaica number.  Wonder how he knew.......? His was a Jamaica number too!
This is a scam, don't fall for it!  The numbers that have called me so far are 876-586-5323, 876-360-4475 & 876-454-0103. Same area code.

Rayne, thank you for sharing your experience. In researching this particular scam, I learned that there are over 30,000 calls made DAILY from Jamaica to the US for the purpose of trying to swindle/extort money. Sadly, many unsuspecting people - especially the elderly - do become victims. The name of  the lottery/contest varies (e.g. Publishers Clearing House, Mega Millions, Monthly Winners Club) but the basic scam is fairly consistent.

Just when I thought I was FINALLY finished with these filthy, little animals, I received a call from someone claiming his name was "John Felix" (what is it with these clowns - do they think every white person in the US has "John" for a first name?) In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 3.5 million dollars! As it turns out, this SHLF (Sub Human Life Form) was NOT connected to the scam operation that had contacted me two weeks earlier. In that scheme, I was contacted by a "John Baker" who instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS to pay my registration fees because I had won 2.5 million!

All of these calls are being placed via Magic Jack and the audio quality is very poor. So poor, in fact, I had to abandon my recording of this most recent call just to understand the worthless porch monkey. In order to once again pay for "registration fees of 5%," I was instructed to obtain a Money Gram for $499.25 and that I would be sending it to "Lloyd David Cook, 5201 S. Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA." As it turns out that is the address of a sort of homeless rehab facility.

If you receive any more calls, PLEASE try to record them as this particular scam is now the target of a Federal probe using the code name, JOLT.

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.

Scammers use these number to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.

Prank Call
The first caller was from a restricted number and was supposedly a 'driver' who said he was in my city with my 'prize'. (named the city specifically...freaky). He told me to call this number so I can receive my millions from Publishers Clearing House. I called it, mostly out of curiosity, to be told I need to give them $300 to cash my winnings. Told them I wasn't interested in their scams and hung up. Don't be fooled!

Called my cell phone and said that I need to call 1-876-360-4475 to get information to be able to receive a delivery from Publishers Clearing House.  I hung up on him after accessing this page.

A guy from phone # 612-852-3630 called me to say that since I had spent $25 at Walmart I was entered into a drawing and I had won $850,000.  All I had to do was send $250 to the Claims Office of Mr. Obama.  He gave me another phone number to call as I said I did not believe that I won anything and was not going to send money anywhere.  The phone number was 876-360-4475....surprise, why am I going to send my money to Jamaica (Is that where the Claims Office of Mr. Obama is....Wow)!!  PS - Look up all of the complaints in connection with 612-852-3630 since 2008!!
