Guy called claiming to be from Publishers Clearing house.  He started telling me to write down check and pin numbers which he read out.  He requested that I purchase a "Green dot money pack (paper, not sure by his accent) card".  I, meanwhile, Googled the area code and saw that it is a commonly used area code for scammers.  I told him I had to go, and he expressed his sentiments toward me via profanities and hung up.

Glad you did not answer...It is a scam call.

I just got a call from this number. I did not answer. My phone said it said it was a Jamaican number so I knew it would be a scam. My only worry is how the hell did they get my phone number and what other information do they have? Scary.

Jamaica. F****ng idiot couldn't understand anything and that I won $950,000 and that he wanted to speak to the owner of the phone. (Me being the owner) I said the owner is not around and that if they were they would have you arrested because they work for the FBI. He started bickering inaudible noises in the background to someone and said " Call me back later and hung up.

Got call from a name I could not understand in Jamaca, to my cell phone.  Numbr was 876-362-7429.  Cell phone number is on governmental blocked list which does not work.

After messing with him for a while he started saying he was going to kill my mom... I didn't even get my 1.5 million dollars.

NoWay,  you might be surprised to learn that our country in under attack from these useless chiggers. Over 30,000 calls are placed DAILY from Jamaica to the United States for the sole purpose of trying to swindle/extort money. In most cases, these foul smelling creatures have only your phone number and will try to extract additional information from you using the ruse of trying to verify your correct name/address so they can deliver the prize package.

I was first contacted by these filthy, little animals, when I received a call from something calling itself "John Baker" (apparently they think every white person in the US has either "John" or "David" for a first name.) In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 2.5 million dollars from "Mega Millions" in Las Vegas. It instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS, load it with $499.25 to pay for my "registration fees." A few days after this call, I was shocked to see this particular scam featured on ABC World News. During that segment, they played the audio of a conversation between an elderly woman - who had already sent them $85,000 - and one of these black stained rodents.

Just got a call from "Jamaican Man". When i answered he asked if i was on a business phone, which I was, so I said yes. Then he said " I must have the wrong number" and hung up.

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.

yesterday I get a call from a guy I can barley understand, sounded Jamaican, he called me back today. Wanted me to go to local CVS and buy a 250 dollar green dot card or something? Anyways, sounds like a scam!

Got a call from this number during college morning classes. It turned out to be a Jamaican man who could barely speak English trying to pose as a representative of the Publisher Clearing House. I called hours later saying I am calling on behalf of the FBI, he sounded like he was in a panic and put me on hold and later hung up.

Do not give these people your American dollars.

A guy calling saying his name was Michael Reid and that I won money from publisher's clearing house.  When I asked if he was soliciting he said yes.  Then I asked if he could remove me from his list and he hung up.
