DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.
http://www.att.net/smartcontrols-809AreaCode

Scammers use these numbers to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.

Do report the calls, Jamaican and US officials are still actively tracking down and arresting the offenders:

Also:
It is a scam:
http://info.pch.com/consumer-information/fraud-protection

They never require any money, purchases, taxes, fees, or deposits of any kind to get your prize.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

"If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH, or claiming to be one of our employees,  and asked to send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a pre-paid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize ? DON?T!  It?s a SCAM. If you are sent a check, told it?s a partial prize award, and asked to cash it and send a portion back to claim the full prize award, DON?T.  The check is fake, but the SCAM is real!

Publishers Clearing House does not operate this way and would NEVER ask for money to claim a prize award.  PCH employees would never contact you personally or in advance to notify you of a prize award.  Our prize awards are presented just the way you see in our popular TV commercials, ?live and in person? by our Prize Patrol, with balloons, champagne and check in hand - - and with no advance notification!"

I got the call yesterday and now I feel cheated, I had only won $500k and a Mercedes, everyone else seems to have won over a million. Jokes aside, I told him that I know it's a scam, and the guy was like no, you have phone number xxx xxx xxxx, correct.? I told home that number was a corporate issued phone number, so he would need to call my legal department to issue them the prize. At that point, he told me I was F-ing stupid for turning down a prize. I told him that he was obviously a scam, no person from PCH would curse. I got a big F you and he hung up. Can you imagine, he gets upset because I wouldn't fall for his scam

I received this call today. This person is crazy.I am curious to know how they knew my name and my number. The guy had a heavy accent.I asked some of the same questions some of the other's did. They kept calling my phone. My daughter blocked the number.Does anyone know how they are getting my number.Oh I recall him saying that my phone number was selected. He even said that Donald Trump was also apart of funding some of the money. He kept saying he was on the other line with the Mercedes dealership and they were waiting for the money so I could call them with the receipt number. He asked for $355.00.I told him I did not have that to send to someone I do not know.I went along with it to see how far he was going to go with this foolishness. I asked to speak to his supervisor he pretended to be the superviser to trying to change his voice.I was mad at myself for entertaining that bull
The person that called me said his name was Micheal Anderson

Have received 9 calls from Jamaica saying they were from PCH, won 5.5M and a Mercedes.  The numbers are 876 428-7409, 876 458-5749, 876 892-7199, 876 404-6074, 876 575-4199, and 876 286-1836.  The 876 458-5749 is the only one to have left a message which I've recorded.  These calls have gone on since 12/2/13, latest being this morning, 1/18/14 at 8:45am.  Does anyone know of a way to block these calls from coming through?  Too bad they can't be caught and jailed.

Calls from 876-846-7771 and 559-853-1208 claiming to be Pete or Peter Miller with PCH.
I also called the REAL PCH and talked to someone in the scam department and also reported it to the local law enforcement.
This is guy was calling every hour on the hour. He would go from home phone to cell phone then start over again.
I really wish, hope and pray that somehow this CROOKS could get caught and pay for they have done. The old saying is "what goes around comes around".   He was also wanting me to send $400 to Jamaca.... crazy.  I could go on and on but wont.  Just please be careful and leary about something that seems to good to be true because it probably is.  I was told that if I sent him or they money I would get 7-8 million dollars... yeah right .

Just got a voicemail from a "John McDonald" claiming to be a PCH representative. He left a different number from the ones I've found listed so far, though still an 876 number. The number I got is 1-876-337-2867. Thanks for posting the PCH scam report number. Be careful everyone.

I just received a call from a guy by the name of Bobby Washington, claiming to be from PCH.  He told me I won 1st place in this months sweepstakes in the amount of $3.9 million and a 2012 Mercedes Benz (color cherry red with white interior).  At first it was hard for me to understand what he was saying because of the accent, but I kept listening asking questions every chance I got.  I was on to him from the beginning fully aware of the fact PCH will never call you in advance to see if you are at home before delivering your winnings. So I made this fact known to him and he got upset. He told me "I don't have time to pull a scam on you. I go to church every Sunday with my family and I want all of my CLIENTS to be happy, so I don't have time for that sh..."  I responded by questioning his use of the word "client", and he responded by saying yes the people I contact are my clients.  He asked if I wanted to receive the prize televised or confidential. I told him I would like it to be confidential.  Then he proceeded by saying I should receive the prize shortly. All I needed is to have ID and an approval fee card ready when the Brown UPS truck arrives.  I asked what I had to do to get an approval fee card, and he said I had to go to the nearest Walmart or CVS and purchase a Green Money Pak Card in the amount of $400. I asked why would I have to purchase a money pack card and he said it was to let the deliverer know that I paid the qualified fees because no taxes would be taken out of my winnings.  When I told him this did not make any sense, he got upset and told me if I didn't have the approval fee when  the package shows up, the guy is going to turn around and leave. I said I don't have $400 and he asked what would I be able to give. He was willing to add $200 to whatever I had because he didn't want me to lose my winnings.  I laughed and said PCH do not ask for you to pay a fee to receive your winnings.  They take out taxes before you receive your portion. By the tone of his voice, I could tell he knew he had called the wrong number for this scam, but was still wishing I would break. After realizing I wasn't going to give up any money, he got frustrated and told me that if I didn't purchase the approval fee, he was going to give my prize to charity.  I asked for the number to PCH to verify I was in fact a winner and he gave me his number 876-387-9045. Although my ID said unknown caller, it still listed the number.  So I could see the number he gave was the number he was calling me from.  When I told him he had given me his number and not the number to PCH, he said I gave you my number first but I was about to give you the number to PCH. The number he gave was 1-876-280-3104. He wanted me to call this number and call him right back.  After I got off the phone with him, I didn't call the number because I already knew this was a scam.  However, when I didn't call him right back he called me back in a matter of minutes.  This time he tried to pretend to be somebody else by the name Percy asking what was the problem.  By this time, I had already researched for scams online and saw reviews concerning this sort of thing.  I made him aware I knew this was a scam.  He got heated and started using profanity.  Now I'm upset at the fact I've entertained this idiot this long and told him PCH would never speak to me in this way and don't call me again. I ended the call and reported it to the fraud department of PCH at 1-800-392-4190.

Just got off the phone with the REAL PCH. It's definitely a scam. PCH's fraud/scam number to call to report these calls/emails is: 1-800-392-4190.
Try and get the person's name/location and write down the phone number if it shows up. If contacted by email then trace the email's IP address because the real PCH world headquarters is in Port Washington, NY not Jamaica.
Right click the person or email title and select 'view source' and it will open a second window so you can see all the IP address's used and if it's not all pictures/graphics then you'll be able to read the text of the email. It's a safer way than just clicking open the email and allowing viruses and such onto your comp. Especially from people you don't know. To close that window just X like you would normally and you'll be back to your email page. Make sure you don't click that X twice or you might close your brower lol. If you can't find a 'view source' or another way to get the IP's listed in that email then just don't open it. PCH doesn't send emails unless YOU specifically ask them too and I'm not to sure they would anyways because they don't know who you are either.
Remember everyone PCH sends registered letters up to a certain amount won but if a big prize (like their $10 million) they show up in person without notice. PCH will never ask you to pay a fee to claim your prize. Although, not sure on this, but I think in Canada you have to answer a skill testing question that is usually a math question... blah... lol.
BE SAFE!!!

Got a call from these people a moment ago. The woman was talking so fast. She must of thought that if she did, I wouldn't be able to understand her. She said it was Publisher's Clearing House and that I'd won $2 million US dollars and a car, she also said that she was on the other phone with a bank. When I informed her that PCH doesn't just call you out of the blue and talk a mile a minute, she tried to back track but I interrupted her and said I'd call PCH myself and have her number (876-387-9045) and the real reason she was calling me confirmed with PCH and then I said byyyyeeeee.
She sounded Jamaican. I've gotten emails from a PHC but when I traced the IP it was from Jamaica.
Be careful everyone. Everyone loves to win but be smart about it!!!
PCH sends registered letters or shows up in person.

I was reading about this 876# scam online. I found out that if you call it , it could be billed to your phone bill to the tune of about 2500.00 per minute,  You might want to call your subscriber and see what if anything you were charged for that call
