These people tried to scam me and when I mentioned they were calling from Jamaica and I wouldn't be scammed by the likes of them they said they knew where I lived and if I didn't send the money they come to my house and kill me, my family, and my neighbors. Real nice folks there.

Prize Offers: You Don?t Have to Pay to Play!
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/telemarketing/tel17.shtm

excerpt from FTC CONSUMER ALERT
A Dozen Ways to Protect Yourself
The next time you get a "personal" letter or telephone call telling you "it?s your lucky day," the Federal Trade Commission encourages you to remember that:

1.    Legitimate sweepstakes don?t require you to pay or buy something to enter or improve your chances of winning, or to pay "taxes" or "shipping and handling charges" to get your prize.

If you have to pay to receive your "prize," it?s not a prize at all.

Got a call from same place with same info, or similar, and told me to call another number, which I did.  When I asked "Agent Malone" if he was a scammer and if this was a scam,he immediately hung up.  Wish you could find him and the woman that originally called, too.

Got a call from 876-849-9563 telling me he was a delivery person out to bring me a cashier's check and another prize. Told me to call 876-408-5692 ext. 5 to verify information find out what my prize was and then he would deliver. He was only about 30 minutes out. So I called the so called Publishers Clearing House #. First thing I realized is that the person who answered the phone sounded like the delivery driver, so then he put me through to the manager who also sounded like the othere two people I just talked with. After he explained to me my prize was $255,000 and guess what a brand new 2010 BMW with insurance paid for the first year. I mean come on this is 2012 and new BMW will come out soon for 2013 if they are not already out. Anyways, I asked him why have you and the delivery driver not asked to verify my address he said ok what is your address. I said um no, you tell me what you have for my address and I will tell you if that is right. We went round and round and then he got obsene with me so I hung up.

Called me today at work. Worked me all up about 2.5 mil. and a new Benz. Of course, I was super excited and let the guy talk for a while. Got to the point where he needed me to pay $1000 for a government gold stamp. I, being a 3-stripe airman, am naturally broke, and didn't have that kind of money, but I figured I'd borrow it from someone and pay it back asap.. I mean, geez.. 2.5 MIL!!! lol. Anyways, I got off the phone n went to see my first sergeant about going to see the air force aid society to get the money and he told me to make sure that its legit first. So glad I listened to him.

Thanks for saving me from being suckered into this scam! You rule! Lol

Telemarketer
Caller from this number said they were from Publisher's Clearing House, said I won $255,000 and a new car, but for identification, they needed me to send in a blue and white stamp at Kroger, Walmart, or Kmart. I called the police after I had spoken to them, and then tonight, I found this information on this page. Just wanted to let everyone know about this being a scam.

Scam #. I called told me I needed to purchase some sort of blue stamp to receive my Publishers Clearing House prize. Stamp would have cost me $355. When I asked him why I needed to purchase stamp to receive a prize I had received already. He cussed me. Wished he was somewhere I could get to him. I would give him $355 worth of a tail whipping.
