These people have been calling my place of work for the last 2 weeks 2 & 3 times per day. No matter how many times I hang up on them.

I'm contacting the BBB & the Federal agency to stop these calls.

RECEIVED A CALL FROM A MIKE WASHINGTON ON 4-17-2013 SAYING I WON AMERICAN SWEEPSTAKES AWARD OF $2.5 MILLION AND A 2013 MERCEDES BENZ.I CALLED BACK ON #8765821209 AND HE SAID THE TRUCK DRIVER WILL DELIVER THE MONEY WITHIN 2 HOURS FOR A $125.00 FEE.I HAVE SINCE GOT A CALL FROM VERIZON FRAUD TO INFORM ME OF THE CALL AS BEING FRAUDULANT.LATER HE CALLS AND SAYS HE NEEDS AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $500.00
FOR TAX PEOPLE AND I HUNG UP ON HIM.

Call received from Rochester NY 585-633-1365 Michael Walton (looks like he changed it from Wallace). Also slight accent.  He is using US Sweepstakes & Lottery as the name of the promotional company working for Target, Best Buy, etc. Same story 2.5M in winnings but would have to send via Western Union $399.  BS for sure

Just recieved a call from 876-372-0944, saying I just won 250.000.00 dollars! YEA RIGHT??? !!!! Didn't buy it, wanted me to go to Walgreens and purchase a "green dot reload able scratch card" and put 250.00 dollars on it to pay for the Mercedes "C" Class TTL. Sceptical from the get go I think they were tired of me asking questions. Said they would call me back, but at the end of the conversation, I'm suppose to call them!!!! YEA I'll get right on that!!!! Called the police department and let them know what had happened, they said it's been happening for along time, and to just hang up on them. But the police were glad that I called and let them know!!! YOU NEVER HAVE TO PAY FOR WINNING SOMETHING!!!!!!

I just got a call from the number 14133914016 talked to a guy named Mr. Ragen.  he said i had won $550,000 from The American Sweepstakes and Promotion Company. he said that it was because i shopped at wal-mart, kmart, walgreens or riteaid. he said that anytime someone spends over 20$ at one of these stores they are entered into this sweepstakes. he then told me that my check for $550,000 would be delivered to me today and that all i needed to do was go to one of those stores and buy a moneypack for 195$ then call back a number and give them a confirmation # and said i bought the moneypack and that this was registering my check and thne i would have it delivered to me. yeah right ! he said i had to pay the 195 for the lottery state commisonary.  yeah im pretty sure this is a scam. where can i go to report this? and he kept urging me to go to the store now to buy the moneypack. he was a little too pushy!

Jamaica is not in Africa, but in the Caribbean.  The U.S. and Jamaican governments have teamed up for a scheme to catch these scammers called "Project JOLT."

I just got a call from 876-586-6178. He said his name was Mr. Michael and he had a heavy foreign accent.  He said to go to Wal Mart and buy a Green Dot card and call him when I had it. I was told it was a scam by local PD and others. Be careful!

Who is using this number?

We got a call saying we won 250k and will be over nite by ups they made appt time and date.Then called back saying money not released in va beach they not let it go till we pay 500 dollars for secutity he fro new york name michael walton we sent money and we got scamed!!! what should i do ??

My Dad (87 years old) just received several phone calls like this (August 2010).  The people he spoke with had a hard time following their 'script' and he kept telling them he wasn't interested and hanging up.  The first person had a Jamaican accent.  He called back again repeating his 'script' and then told my Dad he better do what they say because there was a bomb in his house. Dad replied that he was armed and dangerous and hung up. A second person with a more cultured possibly Indian accent finally called to 'clear things up', and he gave his name as Adams from UPS, but Dad repeated that he wasn't interested and hung up.  He reported it to the police who were not interested at all.  Later my brother who just retired from UPS called to tell them about the phone calls.  UPS told him that there is a Mr Adams, but he was on vacation.  I think my Dad handled it well, but, still it's frightening to think about these people especially with a bomb threat.

Just received a call from 1-876-425-8346 stating that I had won a second place prize of $250K. The money was being awarded through stores like Target, Walgreens, Walmart, etc. Callers name was michael Walton and he had a foreign accent ( I checked out the number and it is the area code for Jamaica). Said he would call back about when we would get the check through UPS. He just called back and said all we had to do was set up a time with UPS for delivery. Funny though, he already said the check would be delivered the next day between 12 and 1 PM. All we had to do was pay the UPS overnight delivery charge of $375. I told him that his name and phone number were all over the internet for being a scam artist. Of course he denied it but I just laughed at him and hung up.

They called me too, the area code 1876 is for Jamaica is an african country. however the guy called me with this number 5854797961 which is in NY. he has African accent not african american but african, and he is trying to speak english.(I think their are several of them) and this morning one girl called me and she said i won $9781.00 she could not even read the amount she made mistakes several time to read it and she ask for $500 for mail and i said do not worry i come and pick it up, she sail you can not come to our office!!!!!.

One more thing about the last posting, this guy spoke good english but I suspect he was not in the United states. He did have an "Indian" like accent with a clearly scottish last name, and called after 8pm eastern standard time. The local PD gave the Phone # to the federal agencys investigating the long list of #s doing this scam.

I recieved a call from a NY # and the guy who called himself Michael Wallace said he was with American Sweepstakes and Lottery Promotion. He said I won 2.5 million and they were going to ups it overnight. He said the check was a taxable check and he asked if I recieved the winners notification in the mail. He said his company has been around for 49 years and that he has been doing this for 21 years. He said the check is a taxable check and they will be sending it via ups special next day delivery. He said he would call back with the confirmation #. I thought it was funny he had to call back and couldn't do it right then. He already had my Cell #, my name, my address. He said they did this promo sweepstakes for big companies like home depot, sears, best buy, etc... He asked generic qualifying questions (marital status, job status, if you would be on TV)and said he would call back. He called back and said it would cost $449.95 for the special next day delivery of the check and that I would recieve the reciept once I gave the information. I checked the phone # he gave me and the name of his company and I found a scam warning website--- http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/lotteryscamnames.php   It warns a winning can not be a sweepstakes and a lottery. I hope this helps anyone who this might help. I told him I would call him back and for him to call me in a little while.

just received call from 18764258346 informing me that i have won 2nd prize of $75,000 FROM NATIONAL SWEEPSTAKES CO. this must be a scam. am i right or not. they are going to call back in the morning. what should i do now?

Sweepstakes Call.  Said I won a major prize.  Said I had to pay $299 to Western Union to have the winning check mailed to me, insured/certified, by UPS.  I don't believe it.  If I won something, I wouldn't have to pay for delivery.  I'm not stupid!
