I got the same call. Saying I wrote a check last year and owed $750. If I didn't pay it they would have me arrested and I could go to jail for 3 months and then I would owe $3000.

I had a missed call from this number 8764298882 I called back and this guy answered( some strong accent) (Stanley Johnson)stating that I owed some kind of money which I wasn't aware of. He said I was going to jail and be locked up if I didn't make some kind of arrangements to send him the money..He insisted in me getting a green dot prepaid card to make arrangements then he said to call him back once I had the money cash in my hands and that he would tell me what to do once I called him back... (347)2018600... (New York)....   Don't understand what this guy is trying to do but please anyone that gets calls that sound odd in any way please don't listen to them there are so many scams going on and for your safety and your loved ones just ignore them.

The only personal info he had was my name. Don't know if this means anything now but my area code is 587. Thanks for the response!

I got multiple calls from Evan saying he's  clsing a timeshare....which I am doing...somehow he's interceeded..still following up but  he has made various threats so I'v e alerted local polince and they are monitoring..I'm connected so they can be at my home in 5 minutes...

This number called telling me that they wanted to purchase my condo.  He claimed to be from Global Properties Enterprises.  I told them that I wasn uninterested in dealing with them and they proceeded to call my house repeatedly.  They must have called my house over 100 times.  I mentioned reporting them to the police and they continued to call non-stop.

Larissa, As I have mentioned in many of my posts, how these woolly headed beasts came to initially call us, is still, to a great extent, unknown. I do know that one particular colony of these rodents is using an automatic dialer (aka robo-caller.) If anyone at the number called picks up, then that number is redialed later by a live rodent. Clearly though, if they know some of our personal information, then they cannot simply be dialing numbers at random.  They must be working off a lead list and, quite frankly, are potentially more dangerous.

Another poster (if I could recall who, I would give him appropriate credit,) posited that these chiggers work a particular area code at a time. Since the success of this scam, to a large part, depends on secrecy (think about all the intended victims who were told they should not tell anyone about their "good fortune,") saturating a particular region/area code does make tactical sense.

By including our area codes (and mine, by the way, is 619,) we can validate this theory AND, more importantly, we can bring greater resources to bear in that particular region of our country.  Thank you for your help.

He's just another Jamaican scammer trying out a new line of BS. Ignore him or block his calls. He's nothing but a powerless nuisance. If you don't have business or family in Jamaica, don't answer 876 calls.

I was called multiple times from this Number by "Evan Smith"   He tried to convince me that I had wracked up 1300$ accessing fraudulent "Indian websites" and purchasing items online. He then changed his story saying something about "cashing illegal cheques" and if I did not settle the balance a warrant would be issued for my arrest. He was very pushy (mentioned multiple times that this was my last opportunity to settle out of court) and constantly advised that he was only trying to help while completely avoiding my questions for specific details about my supposed transactions. He claimed to be from the "Illegal Processing Company" based in Colorado.

They are asking for money with money pak and vanilla

They call me at 4am on. telling me I have to pay 199.00 by money pack..and when I say no.. He uses sexual comments. and cuses alot... they wont stp calling...one name used is vivian morgan..and they two others are guys but wont say there name.

I got calls from this number and the first time the guy was saying I owed 150.00 dollars to readers digest and I told him I didn't order readers digest! Then he got irate with me and said I would be in jail for three months!
Then the same guy called later and said I had won 150.000 through some kind of application I had filled out! I hung up saying I wasn't interested!

I got a call from this number 876 429 8882 telling me about 50, 000 dallers I am supposed to get I hung up

Calling as UPS claiming to be confirming information for a package that needs to be delivered that is $10k from the government. Also says that there is a customs charge. Very pushy. Hangs up once you say you aren't expecting $10k from the government.
