Your welcome! I wouldn't worry about em personally..  As CW said, these bozo's are in India!  Don't answer the phone as ROT for numbers you don't recognize, invest in a call blocking device or phone also, most of the devices are around 60.00, google them.

And don't let em get their way by scaring you, get some sleep!

He used Google Earth street view.  I use it all the time to hunt down kitchen-table debt scammers.  These people are all talk.  I wouldn't let it worry you.  Best bet is not to answer calls you do not recognize.   The Jamaican lottery scammers are the stupidest of all.   Can't imagine anyone falling for their nonsense, but a lot of people do.

That information very easily could have come from google maps that allow up close views of the area, homes and business's. :(

Yeah, Got many calls today. He was very convincing at first. I googled it. Told the Jamacan man hes a scam. He started to threaten me. He said he was close. He said go get the card. He said hed call back in 20 min. And that if i valled the cops, hed know. My husband flipped out , hrabbed the phone. That didnt help any.  The guy said we had 12 to live. I valled the cops, they thought nothing of it. But they patroled the area. I was shaking. I ended up leaving to go to a friends who jad their CPL.  I think i need to get mine.seriously scared. I dont know if hes close calling from a jamacian number, who just happens to be here in michigan. What really got me was, he described my house, my car,  and the decor on the house. I dont like this!!!!!!!!

Stupid jerk he gave me his name and company on the phone and was going to give me a prize so I hanged up and looked his name and company on the Internet and I found this site with all these comments about James Jefferson and how he is a scam when I hung up on him, he called again, telling me that I was embarrassing Barack Obama. What a scam

Oh & BTW I just spoke with Mr. Washington this morning lol what a complete JOKE! he only offered me 55,000 USD ! how sad LOL it's truly cruel what they're or he is doing. I was "this close" to actually sending the escort service and two police officers to my door and actually calling the real police officers. I really didn't want them having my address though.

I see this message board hasn't been updated in quite a while, but I would be interested to know what phone providers everyone is carrying or was at the time of the scam call. I wonder who is selling our numbers!! I'm currently using Metro PCS & have been with them for quite some time now, this is my first scam call though, hmmm.....

I just received this call today! Good thing i'm not that gullible! I am a single VERY HARDWORKING mother who doesn't get any government help. Sure, winning $55,000 USD would be life changing for us, I wanted to believe it but very glad I didn't. I did go along with it just to see when and what amount of cash he would eventually ask for. Eventually was $104.95 on a greendot card from CVS or Walgreens lol he got very angry when I asked him where the Affidavit was whatever, but yes SCAMMING A*****S !!

Just got a call for my elderly grandmother saying she won $850,000 and a new Mercedes, to be delivered by Betty White today...AWESOME! We're rich AND we get to meet Betty White?! What a bunch of crap! The heavy accented John Peterson asked us to buy a Green Dot card for $500 then call him and he and Betty would be right out to deliver.Since he was calling from Jamaica (area code 876), I was thinking wow...he MUST have a private plane...where is he going to land the thing, since the airport is 90 miles away and he's gonna be here in a few hours??? This is a scam people...do NOT buy the card or call them back. You'll get a long distance charge to Jamaica and they'll ask you for the number on your Green Dot card and steal your money...that's their business. Sick people in this world scamming elderly people. Don't answer any calls from area code 876

Over the past several months I've gotten calls from 876-467-3602; 876-277-3601;876-498-4337 as well as numerous blocked calls telling me I've won money.  I made the mistake of playing along with one caller who just wouldn't give up--thought I could beat him at his own game but instead it opened the door for more Jamician calls from multiple numbers and people.  Yes they get mad, use intimidation and harrassament.  Currently working with authorities to locate and stop.

Today I got a call from James Jefferson general manager at publishers clearing house. He told me that he will deliver my prize tomorrow. He didn't mention me sending any money. I never send our give out any money or account info anyway, so he don't have anything coming from me. I called publishers clearing house and they mentioned that they never call the person, they surprise you and show up at your door. So yes this is a scam. I see he had been doing this for awhile, it's time for him to get caught. The number he called me from is 876-277-3601. Be aware!

I received a call today from this number:  876-440-6994.  Caller ID said "Kingston JM."  He said I won the Mega Millions.  I said you must have the wrong number.  Then he said, are you "said my name" -- so he had my real name.  I said yes, and he asked why I was questioning him.  I hung up.  He called back again but when I had my husband answer the phone he hung up.  SCAMMER!!!

Now I am really disappointed.  Some people on this link were promised a lot more.  We were worth just 1.5 million and it was going to cost us a $99 dollar money card from CVS!  Just to let you know he said he was President Jefferson's grandson.  He sounded young for a man who's grandfather would have been over 200 years!

Really things sounded kinda on the up and up for the 1st min or so.

It was a slightly different number   1-876-576-1600  and it came up as blocked on my cell phone.  He was calling from Publishers Clearinghouse.  He had my address and said he would bring me my jackpot of 1 1/2 million dollars today with UPS.  All I needed to do was go to Walmart or Walgreens and get a "Paypold" "Green Dot" Money Pak scratch off card for $165.80 for shipping costs.  When I told him I needed to verify my jackpot with someone else, he told me he would personally bring me my check TODAY as soon as I paid processing.  He got a little loud and belligerent when I insisted on speaking with someone else for verification.  He finally hung up,

A co-worker's mother received a call from this number and the male identified himself as James Monroe of Publisher's Clearing House. He told her she had won $2.5 million and a new Mercedes. All she had to do was pay a $250.00 processing fee. She passed this information onto "Joe" my co-worker. We knew this was BS, but we called "Monroe" who instructed Joe to arrange a meeting at a local CVS with the money. I had Googled the number and found this site - one post was only 20 hours old! We gave Monroe a local CVS address and went there to wait, according to Monroe's instruction - with the intention of calling the police should he actually arrive. We knew there was likely no chance he would actually arrive because we assumed he is sitting at a computer anywhere in the world. He did call Joe back and yelled at him for being late, but instructed Joe to put $250.00 on a money card at CVS and give him the numbers off the card. We then gave him the business over the phone. Joe and I called the number back a few times since and the moron still answers and claims he is James Monroe. He told me not to call anymore. Really? I am glad this site exists and hope people check it out before they send this a**hole any money.

I received a call from 876-402-2375. Called IDed himself as Michael Washington from Publishers Clearing House. He stated that I won $10,000 and a tablet. All I have to do is go to Wal-Mart and buy a Green Dot card for $100. Then call him back and tell him the numbers on the card. Being a skeptic, I call PCH and they advised that the NEVER call or ask the prize winner to buy anything. When Michael called back he stated, "No, we are from Promotions not the regular office." I called Wal-Mart about the green dot card and was told that, "if you don't know the caller it is a scam." So I quit answering the phone, Then decided to call them out. So when I answered, I told them not to call me again, that I knew the call was from Jamaica and that Wal-Mart told me it was a scam. He denied it, but I repeated, "Do Not Call Me Again!" I hope this is over.

Well, looks like this guy hasn't stopped in 2012.
Got a call at 7:30ish this morning.  I declined the first one since I didn't know the number.  Called back RIGHT AWAY.  Answered the second call nice I figured it must be important.

I say hellow, and get the same reply from the other end, then silence.   I asked who is this is a pretty unfriendly tone and he hung up.

I did notice that he did have an accent during his brief greeting.

Thank you to everyone above for the heads up on this!

I did just enter the HGTV dream home give away so I hope he didn't steal my phone number from there.

We heard the same message today from 'General Manager James Jefferson of Publisher's Clearing House'.  He had an accent, which was our first clue.  DO NOT CALL THEM BACK.  We called the police, who have recorded this information.  They were well aware of this scam and confirmed they were from Jamaica.  Do not engage in conversation with these people.

Mr David Washington strikes again.  He called my mom and told her won $30mil and a Mercedes. Then had the nerve to call her a Bi*** when she kept asking questions.  Then she called me to call and confirm,  I went straight to Google, sounded to fishy to me.  .  If I ever catch Mr Washington he is going to meet a REAL BI*** that is going to whoop his scam artist a**!

Got a call early this morning from this poor idiot. He asked me if I was sleeping and said I needed to wake up. Claimed I'd won $5.5 million along with a Mercedes benz that would be delivered today. I asked him what my name was. He said he didn't know because the sweepstakes I'd entered only required I provide my phone number and the state I lived in lol. I said I did not recall such a thing. He got upset and said he was only trying to do his job and not trying to scam anyone. Asked me where The nearest walgreens to my house was and said I should start by picking up a $500 green dot card. I hung up on him lol.
