As soon as I saw this number I knew it wasn't someone I knew. When I answered I asked who it was, he said, with a thick accent, Michael Anderson. That pretty much told me all I needed to know. He said he was with some kind of prize company but I was on my way out the door and didn't have time for this foolishness. I firmly told him I wasn't interested and not to call me back. After seeing all of this, I hope that is the end of that! I hope no one gives these sum-buckets another penny! Its all a scam, you won't get anything in return but grief!!  

I received a call on my cell yesterday while driving a friend to get a rental car. The man on the phone said he was from UPS and I had won $250,000.00 and write down a conformation number to calm my prize. I did feel like listen to the scam so I interpreted him and asked him , "After I write down this number how much money do I have to send you to claim my prize?" He said what ever you send you will get it back. Then I asked him, "Why should I have send him money for something I had won?" He started to get upset and said, "I don't have time for this and hung up."  I hate when people think just because you tell someone they have won money, they will do anything to get it. Some needs to stop these scams.

Was told I had won a certified check from "Bank of America".  I knew it was a scam so I looked up the #. Looks like I am not the only one being called.
Any way to block calls like this??

i had one of them call me multiple times today. his name was "john". i played along with him and pretended to be excited about winning, and told him i was going to the store to get the card. he called back an hour later to get the card info, and i told him he was full of it and i wasn't stupid enough to fall for that. he got VERY nasty with me, and threatened to kill me.

Try not to be too upset with yourself - MANY people are still being scammed, which is why I continue to post in this forum.  As you certainly know now, there is never a reason to call back an "876" number. NEVER!  Sadly you will discover that the authorities can not/will not do anything to combat these vile creatures. It is up to us - just as "crowd sourcing" helped to locate the Boston bombers - to exterminate this vermin. When they call again - and they will - please:

1) Try to prolong the call. Ask it to repeat information: its name, its location, etc.
2) Frustrate the caller. If it appears to be in a hurry, talk even more slowly. If it talks slowly, speak rapidly. A frustrated chigger makes mistakes.
3) Determine exactly what information it has about you. Usually it is just your phone number and perhaps your first name. Unfortunately, in one variant of this scheme, this vile creature DOES have most of your personal information.
4) Try to extract as much information from it as possible. There are MANY variants of this scam currently active (e.g. "Green Dot Card," Moneygram) and, most importantly
5) Record the call and share that information here in this forum.

You bet they'll keep calling, and all their scammer friends will too. Once you fall for one of these stupid tricks, you're identified as an easy mark (gee, wonder why) and the crooks who tricked you will trade or sell your info to all their scammer friends ... in Jamaica in this case, by the way.

So you can expect A LOT more calls! That's the thanks you get for keeping criminals in business and bothering the rest of us in the hope to find someone else like you.

Mr john peterson said i was gonna win 85,000 dollars.. N told me i needed to put $200 in a green money pak card n then he was going to deliver my package the next morning.. Felt so dumb cuz i gave in and also gave him my address .. So i looked up his name which led me to this website..dang i should've googled him first.. To find out i wasnt the only one being scammed..now he wont stop calling how do i make it stop.. I kinda blocked his calls but still he doesnt stop calling

I received a call from this number this morning.  The caller id showed Jamaica, so I knew something was sketchy before I even answered.  He had a Jamaican accent and identified himself as Mr. Anderson.  I asked how I could help him and he said he was calling with Publishers Clearing House and that I won. I told him I am not interested and he yelled "F-you, F-you, you B*t*h!"

Then he called back saying he was Mr. Brown from Amercian __________(something) and that I won. I said interesting that I just received another call from this number and was told it was Publishers Clearing House.  He then began cussing again and said I had 3 seconds to get off his phone and he hung up.  

Seems like a good special for Dateline NBC!

The person called me this morning on my cell phone, without identifying himself. I asked him who he was, and he said who are you. I told him you called me and hung up. This sounds like the old 1960's song by The Who, but most of us who receive these calls are not fools. Perhaps he should call Nigeria next time, and tell them he needs their account numbers to transfer money to them.

Got a call from this number earlier today and the guy said his name was John Walker and that I had won 2.5 million dollars. I hung up after he was very rude and hard to understand his instructions.  After I got to work I called the number back and asked for John Walker who by this time said his name was John Carter. After telling me of the amount I was supposedly won again, he gave me a confirmation #0092774415527 but in order to collect the money I won, I must rush to Wal-Greens and purchase a money gram for $501.00. After I asked if he was serious he became very rude and cursed me out! Scum running scam all the way!!!!

I just got a call on my cell phone from this number.  Said his name was Jeffrey.   I told him I didn't know him and my number was on the Do Not Call List.   His reply was not printable, repeatable or physically possible.   Apparently you can't report on Do Not Call Registry as it wouldn't take the number.

The guy said his name was John Carter and I won a BMW, when I asked why I had won a contest in Jamaica, he said "so you don't want to come pick up your car in Jamaica?" I replied the concept of me winning a contest there made no sense, then he threatened to come cut off my head.

this number has called me three times in the past week. All 3 times, a man with a heavy accent introduces himself as "John Smith" and says I have won some money from publisher's clearing house. I just tell them I don't want money, won't send money, and would appreciate if they don't call again. They usually hang up.

I wish there were away to report these scam artists.

I got a call about 845 a.m. from micheal anderson saying I won 2. 5,000,000 dollars from Publishers Clearing House! then he said he wanted a green card worth 199 dollars before I receive the check! I knew it was a scam but I still look it up on the computer 187648 03560 is all a scam the calling from Jamaica and no I did not give him the money I knew it was a scam

I got a call from this number today August 27 2012 said I had won 250000 dollars from publisher clearing house and wanted me to go to Walmart and send 12500 dollars to them u let them talk to the police and they told me when I got back on the phone to f,,, myself !! Looks like the law could do something about this cause some poor souls will send the money !!

Just got a call at work. Said I won 3.5 million dollars and their lawyer "Henry Ford" would bring it to my house today. All I needed to do was call them when I got home. I am sure so they could gps where I am. Crazy idiots!!!

Omg! I just received a call today from this exact number from a David Johnson with heavy accents. He stated that I won 250,000 dollars and needed to pick up my check today. Once I started questioning him, he became rude and disreprectful and stated "You are talking too much and taking this as a joke." I said yes I am and hung up!

This number called my mom today and cussed her out and left her shaken.  The sheriff's office said there is nothing they can do.  It makes me sick.

Just got a call from this number
. It was 2 males with heavy accents.  I never could understand what they were saying. I finally said I'm not interested and they hung up. Did I mention, they called at 10 pm?

My story is similar. These disrespectful, misled human beings will have to answered for their unrepented sin like the rest of us.  Destined for eternity in hell, as anyone else who has heard about Jesus Christ and refuses to believe in Him.

I had a call from James Anderson saying I had won 350000 but i had to send 19900 western union I did not send it

He said, that I had won 2.5million dollars and that I needed to send him $199.00 to an oshane Robinson which is lawyer and his name is Mr. Fernado and he had an accent.
