Event Reminder
Received a call from 876-488-8951. Caller informed me I had won $900K+ and new Mercedes. Did I want to receive it tonight in front of local media, or on CNN coverage or in private with a lawyer. The Kicker: had to present a Green Dot Money Pack reloadable paper scratch card with another form of ID from either CVS Pharmacy or Wal-Mart. Were either of these close to my address? Hung up at that point saying: "We're done." I'm going to be curious if anyone shows up at 6:30 pm tonight. If so, I've got the local police scam report already programmed on speed dial.

Received a call from 876-488-8951; the man told me I have won $500,000 and pearl white mercedes.  Wanted to know if I would be home around 1:30PM today to receive my winnings.  Told him no; today was not a good day.  I ask him how did he get my number; he said it was selected randomly. I ask him to verify my address; he said all of that was on file.  I told him this was a SCAM and I was not interested.  He said was not going to argue with about that.  I HUNG UP ON HIM.

Foreign caller said we had a package coming via Federal Express and wanted us to call 876-488-0566 and give them an access code.  I asked him what was in the shipment, to which he said something like "65 million dollars".
I told him "I don't think so!" and hung up.

Reverse search said it's in Kingston, Jamaica, and we don't know anyone there!

My sister just got a call from a place that told her to call this #, which I understand can change you up to $600 per call for calling a foreign exchange and there is no way of getting this off you phone bill & you credit can be damaged, phone can be shut off if not paid.

She was told she had a package coming for her, that she'd won $35,000 Blah, blah, blah...

Long story short.. if you are told to call this number, do not! Real sweepstakes, etc. will send you usually a certified letter if it's anything over $600, and it will eventually have a 1099 form by the end of he year

Sounds too good to be true? Prolly is. This one asks for money to be sent via certified check, or that you'll receive a certified check (a fake one no doubt), then they'll ask you to send part of that money to then via western union, etc. & you are left with a bogus certified check & a bill too for any money you used or sent back to them, on top of the phone call!

SCAM BUSTED!

Received a call from 876-302-1619 advising I had won 1.5 million dollars to be issued to me immediately.  Would receive a cashier's check and $55,000 in US Currency.  Strong accented man using the name John Davis.  When he told me his name, I laughed and told him my name was "Mary Poppins".  Advised me to call the claims department 876-488-0566,  I did not call immediately, so after about 10 minutes he called me back.  I tried the number and received a recording "The country you are trying to reach is not a direct dial".  After a short while he called me back.  When I let him know about the recording he proceeded to help me with the claim of my winnings.  He stated I needed to wire $355 to Carvin Blanton, Accountant, in Savannah, Tennessee for IRS charges.  I should get a receipt and call him back.  He would then send Fed Ex to deliver my package of winnings.  I asked him to give the prize to someone else.  This happened on April 16th.  He has called my phone four times today, April 20th and I did not answer.  He then blocked the number and called back.  I asked him not to call my number again.

I must have just got scammed....Recieved call, said I had won 1.5 million in a cashiers check, with $35,000 in cash being delivered today, just call the claims dept. at 1-876-488-0566. I made that call - I wish I would have checked the internet for scams before calling. Now I gotta wait and see how much this is gonna cost me. They had me on the line for 30 minutes, asked me to wire by Western Union $325 to cover IRS tax issue. Said to wire the money to one Carvin Blanton at 60 Canby Circle, Savannah, TN
I didn't wire the money. It seemed to good to be true, so at least I haven't been burned completely. The guy that I spoke with identified himself as Benjamin Cole, the CEO. Can't believe I fell for this....

Got a call from Jamaica,1-11-2010,(1-876-302-1619) no name given. I won only $1.5 million and $55.000 cash. Male voice asked me to call the 876-488-0566 number to receive instructions to get a package today from FedEx. This was real good timing. I lost my job in August. First thing I did was to look up the number for a scam. Dang!

Caller (Tel no. 1-876-302-1619), foreing accent (perhaps hindi) with the same story... I won 2.5 mill from the Australian lottery and $65,000 in cash. I played along...  I was to send a check in the amount of $1,099.00, "to avoid issues with the IRS".  I was supposed to receive the Fedex package at home, where 2 US marshalls were supposed to get me to the bank to cash out the check, BUT, to:

My parents were called by someone, named David Miller from Global International Sweepsteaks. The caller stated that my mom had won $2.5 million. The address below, in Jamaica is where my mom was to send the requested money for taxes, where in return she would receive the $2.5 million.

Unfortunately, my mom did call the number in Jamaica, not knowing where she was calling, more for being curiosity. She was suspicious of course and did not agree to give them any money. She did however give them her mailing address, so god only knows what further SCAMS will now be coming to her now.

Be on the alert and don't fall for this scam.
I was able to come to this site by doing an internet search on the phone number (876) 488-0566.

My grandmother just a phone call from this number. She looked it up in a phone book, and sure enough it was in Jamaca. She got a call a few minutes later and they asked if she called yet. She said she was busy and couldn't make the call. Then she asked why the number was in Jamaca and if it would cost her money to call it. They told her it was a "800" number and that it would cost nothing. She refused to give up and told them it wasn't an "800" number. They then told her the call could cost up to $300. SCAM!
