I just received a call from this number in Jamaica too. We had just been on a caribbean cruise (not to Jamaica but other islands) and I'm now wondering if that's how he got our number!! All he said was, "How you doing today?" and I told him he had the wrong number and he immediately hung up.

It is now January 8, 2013 12:49pm and I just hung up the phone with people from this number. I definitely got excited thinking I had won some money. I decided to google the number first & Thank God I did!...Thank God for google and Thank God for skepticism...I don't have $2,000 anyway...lol So they called the wrong girl!
Whew
Well They actually called from 8763617702 the 18765037886 number I was given to call to claim my prize!!!!

Got a call from this number and they wanted me to go to Walmart with 2K in cash, pick up a card and they'd give me a14 digit number to put my money against that card. Instead of going to Wal-Mart I headed to the Troy, AL Police Department. The caller stayed on the line and wanted to know when I got to the closest stop-light next to Walmart. When I arrived at the Troy PD, the police officer asked who was on the phone. When the Police Officer identified himself to the caller, the caller hung up.
Lesson!! Never give your personal information out to unsolicated emails or telephone calls. They already have much of it already and you don't need to give them more! Also....if you get a call, while you are talking to the individual, go to your computer and google the number listed from the caller. You will be surprised when you get to a web page like this one about people getting cleaned out of their hard earned money. Next...inform the FTC through their web site.

Any clue where this is from?

I am a top cell phone provider employee (not allowed to disclose) and I just dealt with a customer calling in about this. Do not call this number at all. There is nothing cell phone providers can do about the charges on your bill. Sorry!

I got a call today and the man said he was from the local UPS office. He said I had won a new car and something else (I can't remember). He asked if I had remembered registering and I told him no and the line went dead.

Sorry and ashamed to say I DID get scammed. They got $2,000 from me and I also got a $236 phone bill to boot. Police cant and wont do anything about it cause its out of their jurisdiction. Seems like a lost cause. Its no wonder these scammers continue to scam. They know there is NO WAY they will be caught. The have already scammed $21,000,000 to date. Sad world were living in.

Report the Jamaican scammers to the FTC. Here's a link concerning Project JOLT at the FTC site:

Claimed to be from my "local UPS service". Said I had a check from "Publishing Clearinghouse" and asked if I'd be home all day. When I told him I didn't believe him the line went dead.
