First got a call from a cell phone 876-896-4047 stating that I had won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. That I needed to immediately call Bank of America at 876-570-7689, ask for Mr. Baker, Bank Manager and tell him that I am the winner of the 2.5M sweepstakes using Confirmation #6001. Needed to call within the next 25 minutes, because they were leaving to make deliveries to the winners.

The 876-570-7689 rang my cell phone and I did not answer it because I didn't know anyone in my circle of family, friends and/or business associates who has a number or a prefix starting with 876. Also, I googled the 876 number and found out IT IS A SCAM associated with that prefix/number from people located in the Virgin Islands...in short the message ALERT FROM THE INTERNET said: DO NOT CALL ANY NUMBERS WITH THE AREA CODES READING 876, 809 and 284 (THEY ARE NOT United States NUMBERS); WARNING, that if you do call a prefix with 876, 809 or 284 number, you will be billed thousands of dollars...Wow, I'm glad I went with my first thought, to not call back a number I didn't know. F.Y.I. HELPFUL HIT: I saved this number to my contacts labeling it as "SCAM DO NOT ANSWER or CALL BACK"...so if I'm in a meeting or busy doing something, sometimes I answer the phone and not look at the number so to keep it from ringing especially (if I forget to put it on vibrate or silence) Labeling the number SCAM helps to identify the call quickly and remember it is a SCAM.
