Siad i won for publisher ckearing house. lame scam.

The scammers from this number and 876-283-4314 called my senior parents' home on Aug. 31 and again on Sep.1. The caller ID shows the name JM Kingston for both numbers. They are trying to get seniors to go to drug stores and purchase a "green" card (which is like a paid- for -credit card) to cover the costs of taxes on a big cash prize (in this case over $300,000). They then want the card number read to them over the phone, after which they will obtain the funds from the card. The original requested amount for the "taxes" was $599 (I'm guessing there must be some kind of limit/check done if the amount is over $600) After my father played their game and told them he didn't have that amount of money, they asked him for his checking balance. After being told it was only $140, they said they would accept that amount instead! They claim to be from Publishers Clearing House and that once they receive the green card number, they will send the prize patrol to your house. Please let your elderly friends and family know about this and also that they should NEVER give money or personal information to anyone claiming they have won a prize.

I got a call from the same number I didn't answer. No voice message. Probably a scam.

I got a call from this area code to my cell phone.  I knew it was a scam number but answered it anyway.  The man on the other side talked very slowly, low voice and had an accent (don't know what).  After I say hello, he says "How are you today?"  I say, I'm fine and you got the wrong number.  I hang up after 3 seconds of silence.
