Received a call from a man stating his name was Michael Anderson. He called from 876-357-1172. He stated that he was from Publisher's Clearing House and I had won 2.5 million dollars. LOL! He gave me a check #007518880201 and continued to talk. I was laughing the whole time cause I knew he was a joke, he eventually hung up after I would not release my address.

I constantly get calls from James King or a Mike Anderson saying I've won millions of dollars and a car, but need to get them some money to pay taxes.  It's consuming my life, they end up talking to my daughter or son in law who live upstairs from me and hang up on them, the scam is so annoying!  Please stop calling me, they end up dropping the money they say I owe them when I tell them I don't have that kind of money!

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.
http://www.att.net/smartcontrols-809AreaCode

Scammers use these number to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.

Also:
It is a scam:
http://info.pch.com/consumer-information/fraud-protection

They never require any money, purchases, taxes, fees, or deposits of any kind to get your prize.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

"If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH, or claiming to be one of our employees,  and asked to send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a pre-paid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize ? DON?T!  It?s a SCAM. If you are sent a check, told it?s a partial prize award, and asked to cash it and send a portion back to claim the full prize award, DON?T.  The check is fake, but the SCAM is real!

Publishers Clearing House does not operate this way and would NEVER ask for money to claim a prize award.  PCH employees would never contact you personally or in advance to notify you of a prize award.  Our prize awards are presented just the way you see in our popular TV commercials, ?live and in person? by our Prize Patrol, with balloons, champagne and check in hand - - and with no advance notification!"

Prank Call
Received telephone calls from an older male with inappropriate behavior (after I didn't agree) saying that he was in Jackson and in about two hours, I would be delivered a Mercedes Benz along with a certified cashier check of a large sum. He stated that his name was Mick McCan with the Publisher Clearing House and the GM is name John King. He added that the Attorney is Linda Allen of Jackson, MS and the FBI Agent is Bob Johnson #8912. He stated that the company is 100% and registered with the BBB. He continue to reassure me that it wasn't a hoax and became defensive when I started asking him about previous comments to pay money prior to delivery of sweetstakes that I did not register for in advance.  He called from 18763730632,

We keep getting scam calls from various numbers in Jamaica from a man of many names, depending on how many times during conversation you ask him. Starts often with Im ***** from PCH and you have won money and need to pay the taxes today so we can deliver the money today. I strung him along and asked why I would pay taxes when I dont need to. He said you have to pay taxes on winning money. I told him I have a lawyer for that and taxes arent paid right away on any winnings etc and he got mad and said you want the money or not. He already knew my address so I said sure send the check and I'll have it verified and call the IRS for tax info. He got real mad said a few things and hung up.
I got multiple calls in a row. He called back and said he was "Michael Endosin CO of megamillion contest to verify I was a winner , only a CO can call." "2.5 mill plus a mercedes". 876-578-2471.He called again on private number block. I strung him along again with his thick Jamaican accent and said I needed a phone number to verify him and would not send money. He said he hadnt called earlier and slipped and said did you get the card from Walgreens. THat was from the first phone call and he is realting to it now!! Man these guys are swift to get money but stupid. When I said I needed a number he said you lost your money and hung up. 2 min later the above number came up on phone and started all over again. All teh 876#s are scams from Jamaica that does not apparently have to follow do not call guidelines.

I got a call from someone who's english was very broken, the caller ID showed 876-377-6270, and informed me I had won 1.5 million dollars and a new car.  I am in my 70's and have had calls like this before and I usually hang up.  Today I decided to play them for a change so I acted really excited and beside myself.  I was told to go to Wal-mart and wire $149  to ROSROY LEWRENCE   IN JA WI .  I told them it would take acouple of hours. and they gave me a phone Number to call it was 876-578-7790.  To make a long story short, from the initial call at 1:57PM until 5:15PM  I strung them along and then I ask them How it feels to work all afternoon and not get anything for it.  THE LINE WENT DEAD when I told them I had notofied the FBI and they had contacted the Jemacian Auhorities.  I just enjoyed turning the tables for a little while.  At least they were busy with me and didn't scam anyone else for that period of time.  They never did say who they were with or give any name other than the one above.  It was funny

I just recieved a call from this number I couldn't understand the guy very much and he was kinda rude just said he was from fed ex and that he was 45 minutes away and that I needed to call someone and gave me the number 1-876-408-5692. I really couldn't understand him so I called the number to find out what was going on and it sounded like the exact same guy who picked up. he then proceeded to tell me he was from publishers clearing house. He asked me my name age and occupation. I gave him my maiden name and just said I was a student. He couldn't even tell me how I had entered just said it must of been something I entered online. He then wanted me to go to walmart and get a claimer ticket that cost $500.00 and that he would stay on the line the whole time. I asked him what it was for and he wouldn't really say just asked if I was getting in my car and I told him I wasn't going anywhere until he told me what was going on. He then proceeded to say oh your 21 then take off you clothes and show yourself to the mafia and just repeated that over and over again. I cussed him out and hung up on him. the worst part is that I have no one to call to report him to.

Got a call from James Anderson, his number 876-849-9563 as recieved on my cell phone.  He says he's from Publishers Clearinghouse and that they are verifying that I'm home so they can deliver a prize in 30 minutes.  I didn't enter any contest and if I did, I wouldn't give out my cell phone number.  I should call 1-876-408-5692, David Malone at ext 5 to verify.  I didn't call.  The guy had an odd slightly robotic accent.

This person called me. Said he was Mr. Michael Anderson. He sounded like he had an accent and kinda hard to understand. He said he was with Walmart in my city and that I had won a prize I think, but I could barely understand him. I asked him to try to enunciate more clearly and was trying to figure out if he was legit. I proceeded to tell him to remove my name from his list.  He then said I was a f**king b*tch and hung up.  So sad.................really???

I received a phone call today from a man claiming to be with Publisher's Clearing House.  He said I had won $1,000.000.  I haven't even entered any contests, so I knew that the call couldn't possibly be legitimate.
I am 76 years old, but still sharp enough to know when I'm being scammed!

Have recieved numerous calls from a James Anderson.  First time he called he said he was from Readers Digest and that I had won $1 million.  He said that in order to collect I needed to pay a small fine??  Who calls a "fee" a  "fine" unless they have spent far too much time dealing with police! The guy had a very hard Jamaican accent.  I told him to stop calling and that I knew he was a scammer.  He then proceeded to call back 5 more times and I finally answered again this evening. He told me tonight he's calling from Digestive Monthly??   Told him to stop calling and that I had already notified our local fraud squad.  Hopefully he stops calling.........he's a persistent little s***.  He needs a swift kick in the you know what!

The same guy called me saying i was 3rd prize winner for pay my bills on time. That I won 1.5 million dollars and a brand new Black 2011 MBZ from Vegas. He sounds Jamaican but says he "can't wait to meet me for my prize and that he's a white male blonde hair, blue eyes." and that my prize is protected by UPS security that is heavily armed. For me not to be alarmed by the GUNS={. He also wanted me to go to Western Union to make a claimers receipt for 1% ($200). He insisted he stayed on the line the whole way there. I just said i'd get back to him.

I got this call from a person named John Anderson telling me that I won 9000.00 dollars and a flat screen tv and all he needs is my name.  Of course nothing comes free in life so I thought it was a scam and told him so.  He asked for my name and I gave him a false name which he then hung up on me.  Beware.

I called him back and let him know I knew he was a scam artist and never to call me again.

A man calls me saying his name his John Anderson, he tells me that I won a million dollars, and a brand new mercedes for paying my bills on time. I was told he was calling from Fed ex company then he said he was calling from some other company. Well he tells me that in about 2 hours my prizes are going to be delivered to me, with a camerman and a lawyer present. But them he tells me that I have to pay 1% of the taxes, which was about $400, and that i have to do it at a western union, and to get a claimer receipt from them.Otherwise I could not received my prizes.

Once he told me that I had to go to Western Union and pay, I was positive it was a scam, and told him and hung up.
