Jamaica!!! A Tim Morgan (probably related to Captain Morgan rum if they think I'm going to give info!) Said I won publishers clearing house 2 million and if I'd be home to receive the check. I said no even though someone will be! Always! our house is very protected in my small neighborhood where everyone knows everyone and is always out front. Anyways I shouldn't have talked at all because they can record & edit what you say. So say little & never "yes" See below how  to block number.

ON IPHONES (& probably other smart phones) YOU CAN BLOCK THE NUMBER! In call log just click on the "i" for info and scroll down and hit the "block caller" button.
They probably scam many people if they are doing this. It's an odds game. The FCC should stop this!!!

I got a call from 1-876-820-4620 on my cell phone. A Jamaican sounding man congratulated me for winning 2nd place, $1.5 Million Dollars. He then asked me to "State my name." I told him I was not going to play his game and said good by.

Area code 876 looks like a toll-free number but it is NOT. It is in Jamaica. BEWARE of what you say to anyone calling from the 876 area code. NEVER say your name or the word "Yes". They can record your responses and use them against you saying you gave permission to do whatever it is they have in store for you. Never give out any personally identifiable information.

I got a call from this number about 30 minutes ago. I didn't answer and thankfully I didn't after I've read these comments from everyone else. I hope they don't call me again. I wish these scam numbers would STOP CALLING ME!!!

If you should notice this number or have a missed call from it, I hope you DON'T ANSWER OR CALL THEM BACK. I just answered and the man who I couldn't really understand at first made some pretty disgusting propositions right off the bat. I said "ooook" and hung up. Hopefully, they won't call me again but sometimes they call back and will harass saying the most awful things. When these types call, they're always foreign, middle-eastern sounding I think, starting out phishing for credit card info, medicare/medicaid stuff and then if you don't give them anything, they start to say disgusting things. They said that I won $900,000. They said they were calling from a state lottery so I ask from what state. He said Louisiana state lottery. I knew from the jump it was a scam but I played around for a a couple of minutes asking a lot of questions that really didn't make sense! He got mad and hung up! I'm not paying 300 dollars for a prize you said I won.

Man called and asked to speak to my father.  I could barely understand him.  I asked what the nature of the call was about, and was told it was in reference to a Discover card purchase and he wanted to confirm the number.  I told him no.  The man became irate and insisted he speak with my dad.  I hung up.  I recalled the number.  The same man answered without identifying himself or his "company,"  I asked for his name.  He became iraate (again) and asked for my name.  I did not give it, but did tell him I would be contacting the Attorney General's office to report him and his telephone number.  Beware!

Dan, thank you for a great post! These filthy, little animals have been particularly active over the past few weeks. In researching this particular scam, I learned that over 30,000 calls, trying to swindle/extort money, are placed from Jamaica to the United State DAILY!

How these porch monkeys use addresses within the United States to steal is still unclear. Most of the rodents that have called me have used the "you must get a Green Dot card from CVS to pay for your registration fees," scheme.
I did have one who told me I should obtain a Money Gram for $499.25 and send it to "LLoyd David Cook, 5201 S. Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA." Turns out that is the address of some sort of homeless rehab facility.

Gary Stone other names associated with it..& directed to send a check for $999. were Vincent Prude, Diane McCan and his Supervisor who "Confirmed" that this is legit is Donovan Jenkins...gonna google them all..

Dan Stone is the name given me as the prize ($3.5mil.) For my Mother she gave me the option of dealing with this...I'm supposed to send a check, not to be cashed, but for security reasons & Tax claim...I've been playing along to see how far it'll go (last week a Jah-Make-An calked for PCH also with a prize of $3.5 mil) ...so the number is  of Jamacia origin but it could be else where I've been instructed first to send it to a Vincent Prude 1221 Moss St. Columbus, Mississippi 39701...then he was "Busy" so now sending it to Diane McCan 3434 Maryland rd. PHEONIX Az. 85032 the check which is NOT going to be cashed in the amount of $999.00  is for security & tax reasons only and he said His CEO Donovan Jenkins confirms they're on the up & up...So...uhm..THAT makes me feel Better about the whole Scam...wonder if I can expect a bomb also...that's as much information I've been able to get for whomever can use this for legal action...I'm going to google the addresses maybe google map to see ...& then the names will suit any info I get.

Called with a scam; threatened to plant a bomb at my house. Knew where I lived and called both my children.
