My grandfather received a call from "Reverend King" from this phone number. After telling my grandfather he had won 5 million $ and a new Mercedes, he tried to get personal info. He wanted my grandfather to get a Walmart gift card for $1000.00 to cover taxes and then Rev. King  and two FBI agents would either accompany him or meet him at the bank to work out the transfer of the money won. I try to keep my grandparents alerted to scam tactics and tell them to NEVER give info over the phone, period!! If they think it might be legit, I tell them to say they are busy at the moment and can they take a # and call them right back. Then call the real company and check it out.

Report them to the FTC.  They are cooperating with Jamaican authorities to get these scammers.

I am a Police Detective in Connecticut.  We had a recent victim of this scam in which "Reverend Andre King" reports you have won $5 million and a new vehicle.  He then pushes you to pay the taxes on the winnings in advance.

I was able to listen in on his phone call to our victim.  He is very reassuring that he is not a scam and then quickly bullies victims into purchasing pre-paid credit cards and reading the numbers over the phone.

If you have any questions regarding the validity of this scam, please contact Det. Hearn at the Manchester Police Department (Connecticut) 860-645-5549
