Just got a call and I asked for a number to verify. They gave me a number and I said ok thanks. He then asked me to repeat the number and I said thats ok I have it and rhen he said repeat it again and I said Im good. Then he began to cuss me out and said that I was wasting his time. I was laughing and said good try on getting my info. Then he hung up. Too funny and a very pathetic attempt to scam. I just feel sorry for those who go along with it. If it sounds too good to be true....it usually is!

Nice Try,  sadly you will discover that the authorities can not/ will not do anything to solve this problem and that the "Do Not Call List" is useless in trying to combat these black stained rodents from Jamaica. It is up to us to exterminate this vermin. We must continue to be aggressive, offensive and relentless in our tactics!

I was first contacted by these filthy, little animals, when I received a call from a "John Baker" (last night's call was from a chigger calling itself, "David Carter.") In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 2.5 million dollars from "Mega Millions" in Las Vegas. It instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS, load it with $499.25 to pay for my "registration fees." A few days after this call, I was shocked to see this particular scam featured on ABC World News. During that segment, they played the audio of a conversation between an elderly woman - who had already sent them $85,000 - and one of these vile creatures.

When these roaches call again - which they will - please record the call and share your information in this forum. When you post please include your area code - JUST your area code - along with your posting name. Thanks.

These clowns just called me and told me that I won a 3rd place prize and that they were on the way to deliver at my address in Memphis (they called a cell with a 901 area code). When I told him I did not live there, he told me to call Albert Johnson at ext 5. When I asked him what part of Jamaica he was in, he told me Jamaica Blvd. I told him that I know that 876 is an area code in Jamaica, and then he had the guts to tell me that Publisher's Clearing House has its own area code! I told that he's lied to me several times, and I asked him what he really wanted... He hung up. Next time I am in Jamaica, maybe I'll claim my prize in person...

Prank Call
This guy called me on my work cell number.  I had to put it o speaker so that my co-workers could hear what he was saying.  He wanted me to call this number to claim my third place prize today from PCH.  I know how PCH operates and they are not going to call......they just show up with your prize.  It's SOOOOOOO FUNNY that thee guys actually think you will give personal information out over the phone.  5 minutes later the same number calls again, I just didn't answer it. Annoyed!!!!!

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.
http://www.att.net/smartcontrols-809AreaCode

Scammers use these numbers to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.

Do report the calls, Jamaican and US officials are still actively tracking down and arresting the offenders:

Also:
It is a scam:
http://info.pch.com/consumer-information/fraud-protection

They never require any money, purchases, taxes, fees, or deposits of any kind to get your prize.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

"If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH, or claiming to be one of our employees,  and asked to send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a pre-paid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize ? DON?T!  It?s a SCAM. If you are sent a check, told it?s a partial prize award, and asked to cash it and send a portion back to claim the full prize award, DON?T.  The check is fake, but the SCAM is real!

Publishers Clearing House does not operate this way and would NEVER ask for money to claim a prize award.  PCH employees would never contact you personally or in advance to notify you of a prize award.  Our prize awards are presented just the way you see in our popular TV commercials, ?live and in person? by our Prize Patrol, with balloons, champagne and check in hand - - and with no advance notification!"

I got a call that was supposedly from Publishers Clearing House, but it kind of annoyed me when the guy wouldn't hangup the phone and every time I'd hangup, they'd call me back a billion times. Now, he's saying that I met him sometime this week and when I did I gave him a b***job..? Uh, sorry that never happened. I'm so irritated like this isn't cool at all and the fact that he said I was gonna win $950,000 and a car kind of annoyed me too. I knew it was a scam the whole time because it said Jamaica on my iPhone when they called. I was just going along with it to see what he would say...He was very rude and I was very disgusted by the way I was treated.
