My mother received a message. Actually she does owe money to Doubleday Book Club. Maybe someone is hacking into their records and using it to scam money from people. I don't know, but some things are actually true.

I keep getting calls on my cell phone from 877-631-1272

...sorry...it might have said talker or takier group...but could have sworn it sounded like cochran...

I received a call from this #...didn't answer it.  This is some automated message because a voicemail was left and it said it was from the "cochran group" and a urgent response was needed.  A phone # was left for a call back as well as an email.  But my hus erased it before I could copy for this site.   Hope this helps.

Getting threatening calls from Toll Free-866-441-5558. People with Middle Eastern accents calling everyday saying to call Pakhar Group or check their website on-line.Numbers are not always the same.

I have been getting that same call just about every day for the past couple of weeks.  I am glad I saw this site.  I haven't answered it or called them back and don't intend to
 I am tired of the call though.

We have received multiple calls from the Takhar group attempting to collect a debt for a Sean/Shawn Overman. We have no knowledge of this person. We are innocent people being victimized by a company that harasses people in order to collect false debts and does not abide by Fair Debt Collection practices. They leave harassing, menacing voicemail messages as stated by everyone on the forum. If you return the calls, you will likely not get a live person. I tried several times to get a mailing address from several different representatives who refused in order to mail a cease and desist letter. The employees of this company behave in a very unprofessional manner and their practices are illegal. There are many reports about them on the internet and in the news.

Every individual who receives a call should ask for an address and send a cease and desist letter by certified mail and request a receipt. Record all communications, document EVERYTHING, and report them to the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and your local Attorney Generals Office. I have done this and to report to all three online took less than 30 minutes. Companies such as this prey on innocent, fearful, and elderly people in order to collect false debts. It does actually work for them because people do not know their rights and/or feel helpless. However, there is power in numbers!

today, june 3,  2010 i recieved a phone call from takharger , with phone number 1-800-620-0371 and said need to call immediately....but the way the put it "you must call immediately."  i thought i had my number put of the no call list of harrassments and marketing and all thouise annoying calls?   i guess it was not taken seriously...they have been calling me for about 5 months......i just let the answeing machine take the call and then i delete it.

I am on the telephone account with my sister.  They keep calling her number.  She will not answer the phone and is afraid to.  She is develpmentally disabled and has ignored even calls from family.   I am to the point where I want to report them to someone.  I live in another city than my sister but her phone  also has my ame on.  What can I do?

I too have been recieving daily calls from this company and have no idea what they are calling for they just say its an urgent matter and to call or contact them by web site . I have no idea what its regarding or how they got my cell phone number but am sick of the daily calls im not giving anyone any of my personal information and not dealing with the rudeness when i try to find out what the matter is .

I keep getting these calls as well. Some guy with a strong indian accent keeps telling me I owe money to Doubleday Book Club. I have an account with them and don't have any past due amounts so I have no idea why these people keep calling. If anyone knows how to get them to stop let me know. I live in Hawaii, so the calls usually start around 3am. When I told them they basically said I was wrong that the had a list with the actually time difference. I freaked out and said that he was an idiot that I think I know what time it is where I live. Now they are calling and hanging up.......it has to stop!!!

Get a call everyday from this number,and, my number is private.

This is NOT pakhargroup.com  it is Takhargroup.com  they are a bunxh of idiots that like to push the law to the edge.  They tell you they have you on a recording stating that you tell them that whoever they are calling is not at this number.  That is a bold face LIE.  Don't let them harass you.  Let them know that you are more aware of the law than you are.  They will try and talk to you in circles and then try to get you to commit to a verbal agreement on payment.  Don't be fooled into committing to their ways.  They are literally breaking the law by calling from several different numbers 1-866-441-5558 is one of the common numbers that they use as well.

Hi I got the same call just now and I told them they didn't sound legitimate, and hung up on them. She also gave me Pakhargroup.com, with much background noise, very hard to understand. Sounds like some indian people trying to collect money that is illegitimate. When I tried to pull it up to see the 'letters' she claims to have sent me saying I owe money, this is what I got, this site.I'm glad my gut was right.The number they called from was 1-866-441-5558.
