Got a text message that said my ATM Card for First Financial CU had been susspended.  Don't have and account from this institution. Message said to call 1-877-209-0565 to reactivate card.

I'm from PA, me and a couple friends all got the same message. We are all Sprint customers as well. I'm pissed at Sprint's lack of concern, probably thousands of their customers where subjects to attempted fraud, and had our information stolen, and just ignore it is their way of fixing this problem. They can track where a text originated from, and being that it was across so many state lines they should have reported it to what ever organization that handles communications fraud. It's nice to see they care about more then getting you to pay them.

I am a Sprint customer as well received the same text message.  I called the number from a landline and got a busy signal.  I'm in New Mexico as well.  I do not have an account with that intitution either.

Same thing, but text claimed to be from GAP FCU, based in central Pennsylvania.  I have a PA area code on my cell, but never had an account through GAP.  Also have Sprint as a carrier.

SO I CALLED SPRINT BECAUSE IM A JERK LIKE THAT, THEY BASICALLY SAID THERES NOTHING THEY CAN DO JUST DONT RESPOND TO IT.....ITS SOMEONE WITHIN SPRINT OR SOMEONE WHO OBTAINED SPRINT CLIENT INFO THATS DOING THIS!! BE SURE TO TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS WITH SPRINT NOT TO CALL IT!

IM HERE IN NEW MEXICO, AND  SURE ENOUGH, I GOT THE SAME MESSAGE.  IV KNOWN ABOUT SCAMS LIKE THIS BEFORE, SO I CALLED THE BANK, THEY DO NOT SEND ANY NOTICES VIA TEXT! I CALLED THE NUMBER FROM A LAND LINE OUT OF CURIOSITY, ALL YOU GET IS A BUSY/DISCONNECT SOUND.  WEIRD, MAKES ME WONDER HOW MY PHONE NUMBER GOT PICKED, WHATS THE RELATION?  MAYBE WE ALL HAVE THE SAME PHONE PROVIDER AND SOMEONE THERE IS TAPPING INTO OUR INFO, ?...MAYBE RIGHT? I HAVE SPRINT, WHOS YOUR CARRIER?

Hoax - have 4 cell phones in office and they all went off at the same time with the  "This is an automated message from First Financial CU. Your ATM card has been suspended.  To reactivate call urgent at 1-877-209-0565" message.   Butt Heads!!
