Telemarketer
Nice to know I'm not alone! We live on the second floor of a three apartment building. Two weeks ago, we got a call from a "gym" for Alex H. Alex lives on the first floor. Today, we got a call from ADA for John J. He lives on the third floor. It was bad enough getting calls for US from telemarketers; now they call us asking for other tenants in our building! I know the calls are from telemarketers because I cant call them back. I'll call and get a recording telling me that the number has been disconnected, 3 minutes after I get a call from that number. I wish that I could push a button on my phone that would send an signal to their freaking phones and blow them up!

If these people are ligitimate why are they affraid to have their name connected to their phone number?  Got the same call from Macy leaving a voicemail so garbled that you could not understand anything but the number to call her back.  Just by reading these comments did we find out the company name.  When you tell them that they have the wrong number you are just a liar to them so they keep calling you.  Stopping the insanity is unattainable.

Well, in reading all the comments it sounds like people think that we just don't want to pay our debts anymore. When the reality of it is (in most cases) is that we just can't afford to pay them anymore because of some downfall in our lives. It's best to try to work with the creditors to try to come up with some arrangement to pay them off. I agree that they need more people skills but if you remain calm when speaking with them they most likely will be easier to work with.

if you gets calls like this, don't be mad at the person on the other line, they are just doing their job.  instead you should be mad at yourself (if you're the debtor) or at the debtor for not paying the credit card bill.  oh in some states, information cannot be disclosed to the spouses unless given permission by the debtor!  KNOW YOUR STATE LAWS!!!

creditors are getting bailouts because of debtors who won't pay back their debts.  people should stop living above their means and maybe this country won't be borrowing money from china or japan!

when money is due to any creditor, the creditor has the right to use a method called skiptracing to locate the debtor, even if that means calling third parties.  there are laws that protect both the creditor and the debtor.  if you get these calls, simply verbally cease them from calling you again.  they will respect that because these collection agencies do not want to break any laws.  as for the debtor, if you know them, then simply tell the debtor to stop running and be the adult they were when they first opened up the credit card.

Got a call from Macy today as well - Alliance One - they need to be hit by train.  She was asked if the call had to do with a certain bank and she went into a BS story that she couldn't say.  When told the bank had received permission to speak with me vs. relative she wanted no part of it.  Told that person didn't live here any longer and didn't call me back she continued to refuse to be cooperative or nice.  She then called a neighbor with a BS story about looking for that person and was told they didn't live here she ended the call with just this "exchange" number which cannot be re-called.

This s*** head group needs to talk nicer, stop lying or man up and come do a face to face - doubt it.  Anyway if they call it is because the f-----g banks screwed us all by giving credit to people who couldn't pay for a McDonald's burger, the Clinton Admin. gave everyone who couldn't buy that same burger a house and now "WE" bailed them out and they want to screw with us.  Go figure - Stay in Minnesota!!!

I got a call from a person named macy, saying that she wanted to talk to one of our neighbour in the same apartment complex. She said she couldn't talk to the person because their phone # is disconnected. I don't know how she got our number and knew my husband's name. She also knew that we and the neighbour live in the same complex. She asked me to put a memo on their door or talk to this person so that the person can call her back. I didn't know that she was from a collection agency until I came to this page.

A person by the name of Macey is calling, harassing a tenant looking for a previous tenant. The current tenant has no clue about the previous tenant and has told them to quit calling but they disregard and continue calling.Somehow they correlate the address to the new tenants phone number. The old tenant lives in another state.I'm sure the postal service has a forward address.

This number actually belongs to a Collection Agency known as AllianceOne and the phone number is for a Zara.

This company will only call you if you have an outstanding balance on a loan or a credit card through one of their clients.
