the message that was left on my cell phone said they were from Van Ru Corporation and if I was "blank" I should call them back - no name was stated - it was just a blank pause and the number they called from was 877-209-5713.

This is apparently a phone number owned by Chase Home Equity Line sales.

got a message on my cell phone from Chase Home Equity Loan Marketing they ask to call 1-877-209-9567 in regards to my home line."
This is a scam. I live in Canada and have no Banking account or a loan with Chase. These Schiesters randomly call people to try and fish information - BE LEARY AND DO NOT PROVIDE ANY DETAILS

I called back and then had to sit on hold until a guy got on the line and asked if I was interested in refinancing. Waste of my time.

I got a message on my cell phone (well, 1/2 a message) that said, "This is 7 pm Eastern Standard Time. Please call 1-877-209-9567." I called them back and it appeared to be Chase Home Equity Loan. But the man asked for my phone number to verify it and I did not want to give out this info. He said there was no other way to know. So, I hung up, and called my own Chase Home Equity Loan phone number for customer service, and spoke with Customer Service there. She was able to pull my own account and look it over and reassure me there were no problems with it and that it had probably been a sales call. Stupid marketing! I am so annoyed. The only thing I am glad about this whole thing is that I did not give out personal info over the phone but, rather, followed all the things that people tell you to do in circumstances like this!

Claimed to be calling from Chase about my Home Equity Loan. Called the service number for Chase, who initially were skeptical. However, they then verified that it was a number associated with their sales department. Somewhat shady, if you ask me. At least when you leave a message, say that it's a sales call. The message they left said to call back regarding your loan, which could lead one to assume there is an issue regarding one's account.
