My understanding now is that Infocision is making the bulk of the profit from these donations to the various charitable organizations who contract them to make the calls.
A few months ago (October or November) I picked up an unknown call (which I normally never do), and it was a polite person asking me to participate in AHA's Dear Neighbor campaign in February. All I had to do was send out four cards to a list of neighbors and use my own stamps. My dad had recently passed away, partly from congestive heart failure, so it seemed like a good cause and a simple enough way to help.
Almost immediately after I agreed to volunteer, AHA started calling me day and night (I didn't answer.) Didn't I already tell them I'd participate?
A few weeks ago I got the "Dear Neighbor" kit with fifteen cards enclosed, but . . . no list. The letter says, "We were unable to generate a list of your neighbors this year. Please send the enclosed materials to anyone you choose -- friends, family, neighbors, or co-workers. Thanks again for your support!"
UNABLE TO GENERATE A LIST OF MY NEIGHBORS FOR THE "DEAR NEIGHBOR" PROGRAM? Since when? WTF?
Unbelievable. My jaw dropped.
Between this lame message and what I now know about Infocision, I won't be volunteering again -- OR sending out the materials I already got. It's sad, because I'd really like to help this cause. There must be *some* legitimate way to do so without most of the money going to administrative costs.

We are on the Do Not Call list and get 3-5 calls a day from this number. They do not leave a message and if I pick up they disconnect or there is no one there-VERY ANNOYING!

Scammers, representing themselves as associated with the American Heart Association!

Yet another call from a robo caller supposedly from AHA (or whoever is telemarketing for them probably charge the AHA for each call, whether a person or answering machine answers and no message is left). From those who say they have called and had their phone numbers taken off, I seem to see the same "names" on each # I have checked on this site. So did they have to call each individual time. Did they REALLY get removed? Inquiring minds want to know.
This number has called 12/19, and 12/14. With their numbers, they call every day. I also have a few Out of area id's but no number is shown...makes me wonder if they are also part of this phone call annoyances. Also, why don't they leave a message? Say they are from American Heart Association on caller id?

Yeah It's like harassment. Then they wonder why people yell at these telemarketers. I feel for ya.

I politely tell them I cannot afford it, after other calls came in over and over again I stopped picking up when they call, they now have called so much that they know when it hits the 3rd ring, It's going to my phone message machine.SO THEY HANG UP ON THE 3RD RING BEFORE MY MACHINE PICKS UP! LOL They must be desperate. lol

The telemarketing company that uses this number is called
INFOCISION Management Corp
Addresse: 325 Springside Dr, Akron Ohio, 44333
tel: 330-668-1400
They claim to represent the American Heart Assoc
They removed my number from their call list for the AHA and I haven't received another call
I asked them to remove my telephone number from all of their calling lists for ALL of the clients they represent
They said they would send "a message" to head office
I suggest that you write the "Head Office" and demand to be removed from ALL of their calling lists
If more people insist that these robocall centres remve their personal numbers, then the call centers will have no client base to call

I just let it ring. If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer,PERIOD.

I really don't give a rat's behind why they are calling or why they keep calling and calling and calling and not saying anything when you answer the phone. If I want to contribute to the AHA, I will do so. Their calling me is not going to encourage me to do so. I think it's ridiculous that charities and political organizations and, yes, now even home improvement companies are exempt (all they have to do is offer you something free - in the way of a "free estimate".) I do not want to be bothered by these calls. I should not HAVE to be bothered by these calls. Why bother to have a no call list if they're going to exempt everyone from it? I DO NOT WANT THESE CALLS. I ask them to remove me from their list, I verify the phone number, and they still call back. DO NOT BOTHER ME. I have my own charities that I contribute to regularly. I cannot contribute to everyone who calls me, and I'm damned tired of them arguing with me when I tell them no. No is no. Don't call, don't bother me, and pay attention to the no call list. Dammit.

Private name on the caller id means it's likely scammers---NOT the American Heart Association! Plus, a legitimate caller would leave a message.

Same routine, don't answer no message! Caller I D shows Private name!

If you would have taken the time to read any one of the previous 13 pages of posts, you might have learned it is either the American Heart Assn., or a scammer representing themselves as such, that are these persistent pests who are making the hang up calls!
| cutie pie 2013-12-09 17:26:23 Unknown |
It is not AHA, but scammers who put AHA's number on their computer that does robo calls.

Callers "claim" to be representing The American Heart Assn. Whether they are legitimate or not is unknown---but one thing IS known--- they are simply perpetual begging pests and losers!

Just got a call and finally a real person at the other end. Caller ID was for a Private Caller. They did identify themselves as Paid Solicitor from a private company on behalf of American Heart Association. I asked that they take me off their list.... I doubt that will happen. And yes, I am on the Do Not Call Lists, but they don't seem to matter any longer.

877 213 2767. Everyday we receive toll free call from this number. When I speak to a rep to ask to be removed from call list, woman is very rude and hangs up on me. Is there no solution to this persistent harassment?

It's the American Heart Assn. pests, at it again with their persistent begging! They don't give enough time to answer the call before they hang up. What a bunch of losers!

Maybe you should consider honoring the Do Not Call list. While I know it doesn't apply to you, 12 pages of comments reporting this number on 800notes.com is the most I've _ever_ seen (and I've reported a lot of numbers). I don't think it should be incumbent on us to tell you not to call us. There's already a list where we did that.

Caller ID shows "Toll Free Caller". Call starts with a recording about lowering my credit card rate, then prompts to press 1 for more information. Have been getting these calls weekly for the past couple of months. Today I went ahead and pressed one, and when I informed the gentleman that I'm in the Do Not Call registry, he hung up on me.
