I too received a similar letter, and it was soon after buying a used car that almost certainly had a warranty on it beforehand.  I also was provided at no cost, an extended warranty through a warranty company, so I fear that they are selling names to marketing lists which is despicable.  It COULD have been the car manufacturer, since I also notified them that I was the new owner through their postcard... but I doubt they can resell names since those postcards are supposedly required by U.S. law only for purposes of notifying owners of safety recalls.  But who knows.

I too received a letter asking me to call this number from Motor Vehicle Division.
Nothing else directed me to how this letter is actually from.
Unless I know more about who this letter is from I will just toss it.
Anyone have any clue as to who is actually sending out these letters?
