Received a call from same number.  Sounded South African.  Asking for Office Manager.

Today, 9/15, answered a call on business line from a "Toll Free Caller".  He said it was from the Yellow Pages and did I want to continue with them.  I said I only advertise with Dex Yellow Pages. He said that my company was with with them and that I owed $469.  I said I never agreed to any advertising with them and he said I did in 2007, which I know I never did.  Then he said he would send the bill to collection and would snail mail me the contract. When I attempted to talk to him further, he hung up on me.  I intend to contact my state Attorney General and file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision.

Got the same call saying he was from the Yellow Pages and that I needed to renew my service and pay last years service for $478.68. When I told him NO I never approved it in the first place. He kept on insisting that I call customer service and tell my agent. When I got angry and demanded the name and phone number he told me to stop cutting him off and hung up. Scam........Jerk!!!!!!!!! I called the number back after hanging up and got a recording that it is not in service.

I've got a call from 877-215-6225, and a caller said that they are calling from Yellow Pages Online to notify me that my request to close an account with them will be completed and I need to pay them $477 for a two-year subscription. I told a caller that my business has been established in February 2009 and I've never registered at their web site.

Then I was transferred from a cancellation department to the manager who told me that they apologize for the mistake, but I still need to pay $477 for the renewal, and I have no option to cancel my listing right now (even though I never created any listings with them).

Finally I was transferred to the quality assurance department, and when I said that I never created any listings with Yellow Pages Online and that my business is 7 month old, so I couldn't have an account for two years; a caller hung up.

This is scam. Stay away!

Got a call, said was from yellow pages, I don't even advertize with them, Why can't our goverment do real police work and stop this. Too busy writing tickets and not worry about us getting ripped off.

i worked in a call center where there is no name. that was my 1st job. they trained us to sell "www.the-internet-yellowpages.com". Our task was to tell a contact that they have a listing and it's about to expire. they told us to say that we are located in Champlain, NY; even if we're not really stationed there. 1 time i called a contact and told me that he never subscribed to the site. That time forward i became curious about the company and I asked questions and our boss can't answer straight. after a months i quit the job. I really did not know that i was part of a scam company when i tried researching topics about the site online.. This operation is operated by a Canadian citizen who dont want to ans phone calls when it's from the feds.. His name is Alan Boden. He was my boss. ACA Recovery 1 800 356-3713 or 201 670 8851 38 E Ridgewood Ave. Box #395 Ridgewood, NJ 07450(collection company) called to my office and sent to us a bill from $479.95; I spoke with Ms Harris and she said WE HAVE TO PAY THAT AMOUNT, I just told her call our lawyer and she disconnected the phone.

I just got a call from 877-215-6225. He hung up on me... I then called Regional Yellow Pages online at  1-866-689-5084 and they insisted that they are not affiliated with the 877 number. I promptly asked to have my company removed from their solicitation list, and he explained again that they have had "issues with this situation" and that once again they are not affiliated.

hmm...

Calls and says he is from online yellow pages and that you have been listing with them for 2 years and they received notice to cancel.  We have never dealt with these losers except to report another company trying the "edit your conversation" scam.  Don't know if it's the same company or just a different bunch of crooks.

The same thing happened to my friend. She wasn't near a computer and asked me to figure out what this phone number was all about, all I had to do was put it in google and every hit said the same thing. DON'T ANSWER! DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION! THEY HAVE OBTAINED ENOUGH OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION FRAUDULENTLY ALREADY!!

Received call from 877-215-6225 stating we had been doing Internet Yellow Page advertising with them for 2 years and asked if we wanted to renew.  I asked her the name of the company and she said "Your Boss told us two years ago to call and see if you wanted to renew."  She would not give me a name of the company.  I hung up on her.

9/18/09 - Same call only that I owed $479. When I asked him for info...he hung up.

9/15/09:  Just received the same phone call as the others above. Also said he was from the Yellow Pages.  Told him I only advertise with DEX.  He then said I owed them for 2 years and if I did not pay it, it would be sent to collections.  Told him I wanted to see what he was talking about--he said he would snail mail me a supposed contract and still send my so called $400 plus bill to collections.  When I wanted more info, he hung up.  What is being done to stop this type of harrassment, especially to small businesses?

Just received the same phone call as everyone else did from the number 877-215-6226.  They also said that they were from Yellow Pages online. I did talk to a lady (forgot the name) and she told me that I had an outstanding balance.  I only add. w/ ONE phone book, so I knew that something fishy was going on. The lady transferred me to another man who "wanted to record the conversation for 40 sec." I quickly got him off the line stating that I was "busy" and to contact me later.  I got a bad feeling, so I decide to Google this number and this is where I'm at now!

Had to deal with a similar situation yesterday re: BizRate prize.
Instead of these people wasting there time and energy on being fraudulent, they ought to but it into being productive in society.

Called a non-profit organization claiming to be from Yellow Pages and that she needed my confirmation about cancelling the account.  When I asked her to confirm for me who sent in the request she hung up...go figure.

Called claiming she was with yellow pages and that we signed up in 2007 for a 2 year contract.  She says year 1 was free but we owe something like $490.00 for the second year.  I told her I never signed up for something like that and she yelled at me and said, "fine, I'll just send it to collections" then she hung up.  I called yellow pages.com and the person there advised me of this web site and they are monitoring this problem.  People take info from these sorces and call to try and get money.

Same thing here too. Do not give these low-lifes any money. They will try to trick you into saying "yes" or giving them a PO number. Tell them to get lost.

Received a call around 9:20am, a female was telling me that I had put in a request of cancellation of my business listing.  Although I did have a business, it was closed in June 2008.  I asked when the cancellation request had been made and she replied "3 days ago".  I then asked how it was submitted, she said it was submitted online...  I replied that I didn't recall ever doing so but "ok, whatever"".  She then proceeds to give me the whole thing about sending me my invoice in the mail and it being marked "final invoice" in the amount of...  Can you guess?  ~ $479.  At that point i'm quite appaled due to the fact that when I started my plain business listing they said there would be no fee.  Anyway, I tried explaining to her that my business has been closed for over a year.  After that she just tellls me "that's just what it says". *CLICK*.  She hung up and I tried calling back several times to no avail.  Finally I called AT&T yellow pages advertising solutions and they say they can't find my number listed and that it sounded like a scam.  Then I searched the number, found this website, this thread specifically and here we are...  It looks like it's happening to quite a few people.  I'm willing to wager there are hundreds if not thousands more that have just not posted here.  I'm quite positive it's a scam, but I will wait for that mysterious invoice and if I receive something or not in a month's time, I'll post a follow up just to verify.

Same as the other on this page...ATT Online Yellowpages trying to bill me for a service I don't have...I even went to there page and I am not listed on it...hahahaha

paid for the earlier year. He said if I don't cancel, it will

automatically renew for a third year.  

He transferred me to Kara, who asked if she could record the

call. She cut me off and transferred me back to Jason. He said to

hold on again and transferred me to Emma. She asked if she could

record the call. Soon, she cut me off and transferred me back to

Jason.

I asked him to fax or mail me anything showing that I had ever

signed up for anything. He then hung up on me.

Finally, I did an Internet search for this phone number and found

this web page. These crooks sure wasted a lot of my time. Why

can't people make an honest living?

Called and claimed to be Yellow pages, said my odre was going to be cancelled.  I said I do not have Yellow page services and did not want anything from him.  He said : What an IDIOT" Guess HE WAS TALKIN G ABOUT HIMSELF.

SCAM......same as above. advised of a cancellation fee or fee to renew. We never subscribed..... Told him we never subscribed and he hung up SCAM...Their site is www.regionalyellowpagesonline.com,.... "ASK THEM WHY WOULD YOU PAY THEM WHEN YOU CAN JUST GO TO YELLOWPAGES.COM" They take your information off of sites like citysearch.com, post it on their site and call you claiming you owe them.Dont buy it and dont agree to them sending the invoice.... SCAM..............................

I too, received a call and when I told them I was NOT going to pay the bill because I had NEVER subscribed to ANYTHING totaling $479.95, they told me that they would send me a statement.  I HAD previously cancelled a yellow page ad which was through Embarq Yellow Pages so I called THEM to inquire about if this was anything related to their account, I was told NO, THEY WERE NOT "RELATED".  The guy I talked to was VERY helpful, AND very nice which was not like the person on the other call.

BEWARE!  THIS IS A SCAM!!!  ASK QUESTIONS!!!  THAT WAS ADVICE FROM THE GUY I TALKED TO AT EMBARQ!

Received call 8/25/09 at 3:40 calling to confirm cancellation. I told him we have never signed up for nor paid for any on line yellow pages ads. He said we have not paid yet because the first year is free and the bill for the second year after the year is up. I told him we did not sign up for anything and were not going to pay for anything. He said fine since I did not know anything he would send this to collections.

received a call from 877-215-6225 and said they were an online yellow page ad and that they were cancelling my service and that I would be recieving a bill for over $400.00.  I indicated that I had not authorized any online yellow page ad and that I would not be paying any bill.  They put me on hold (on my cell phone) for 18 minutes and no one returned to the line.  Tried to return the call and received a message that no one was available to take my call.
