Guy spoke in very broken English. Hard to understand. When I told him our number was on the do not call list, he continued trying to sell me a vacation in Mexico.
I ended up hanging up.

Caller ID Displayed: TOLL FREE CALLER
Surprisingly was not a computerized call. Guy said, "I am with Today's Getaway" - or something like that. I did not allow him to continue. Politely said we're on D.N.C. List and to NOT call again. Then I promptly went to the FTC site and reported the call.
Very discouraged with "the list" ... obviously does not work.

I'm sick of this kind of calls. They bother me everyday calling me more than 4 times a day.
what can I do to stop them calling me?

I just got a call from 877-216-4046. They've called before so I was ready for them. When the caller started his pitch, I interrupted him and asked him to speak to me in Spanish. I speak Spanish so I responded to him in Spanish.
He hung up. How funny is that?

Call to my cell phone on the DNC list. It wasn't a pre-record, so no points deducted for that one. First claim they are with "todaygetaway.com", and then direct me to "villagroupresorts.com". Talked to the guy for over 20 minutes before he mentioned a time-share presentation was required. Kept them on the phone talking deals for almost an hour (and no sale, of course).
Basically, this is very much like a similar Cancun resort "pre-paid" vacation package, that you still have to attend a "90 minutes (hard sell) timeshare" presentation, but for me, this one was a newcomer.
It would only take a few more people each day taking up these guys time to completely blow their telemarketing campaign. Talk to them. It truly is the worst thing you can do to them.

Yes Steve, they do. In any event, this has nothing to do with the low life scammers who persist in calling, even after they have been requested to stop.

This place calls several times a week. One call actually got through to the voicemail and the caller must have thought a human picked up because he actually said, "May I speak to Mr. ___ ___ please?" He asked for my husband. Anyway, he sat on the line forever, in voicemailland, not realizing he was in voicemailland. Hahaha!!! DELETE!

Robo call ... typical pregnant pause on the line after answering. Today Getaway. I don't like getting these calls, but at least this company repping them, tell you right up front who they are, so you it's less a waste of time than the usual ones. I just blacklisted them on my voip software, so I shouldn't hear from them until they change their number.

Amusing. Your efforts are wasted as I don't think the name Mike Duffy means anything to anyone outside of Canada. Now if you had choose Rob Ford as your alias, that would have made a wider impact.

Oh sure.....vacation in Mexico and end up dead with my body hanging from an overpass for all to see. No thanks. And while we're at it, how about that Do Not Call list and all the government employees putting in their days for that fat indexed government pension with health benefits when they are done their hard working life.

Missed the call, otherwise I would have played with them. I've gotten other calls from Cancun Resort places (may or may not be this one, but I'm sure it's not any different). I've been able to keep them on the phone for 30 minutes at a time. Of course, during that 30 minutes, they aren't selling to anyone else.
If it's the typical of these, they high-pressure you to give them ~$600 (price may vary) up front on your credit card to 'reserve' your vacation, supposedly as some "substantial discount". You have to pre-book sufficiently in advance that it's likely you'll fall out of the time you can dispute the charge on your credit card. Never accept a discounted vacation where you have to pay to pre-reserve.
They are very insistent that this is a one-time opportunity and they won't call back, so you have to pay NOW. Of course, I've gotten 4-5 of these calls for the same properties over a 1-2 month period, so that is a lie.
Keep them on the phone - while they are talking to you, they aren't making money. If I can keep them on the phone for 30 minutes, it only takes 15 other like-minded people out of the thousands of calls they make to effectively disable 1 of the telemarketers. Use our greater numbers against them. If they are tied up with people taking up time and not making sales, the calls will be forced to stop due to being unprofitable. Ask questions. Sometimes just be silent and let them fill in the uncomfortable silence. Just keep them on the line as long as you can.

I just got done with a call from this # and I knew immiediatley something was up
now before I get into it I know, I know I have terrible grammar and run on sentences but just hear me out before you judge
he claimed to be in the "netcenter" of Villa Del Palmar Beach Resort And Spa and also claimed that his call was from inside said resort but they had affiliates with bluegreen resorts which is the first thing I looked up and got back an overwhelming return of scam reports I dug deeper found the hotel he said he was operating out of asked him for it's number he failed to give me the actual lobby number I had asked for why he didn't/wouldn't know it offhand or have it immediately available is beyond me (like if I was gonna scam somebody, ya know what I mean?) but anyways the first # he gave me was 0115213221281773 and I will have to research a bit to see if anything can be done with it or if it's relevant at all
AND ONE MORE THING I live in a city called Oxnard where the latino population is about 9 to 1 (favoring latinos) and I can assurse you he DID NOT SOUND like he was from anywhere that deep in mexico I've heard people with THICK accents and he had none
when I asked about it he said he was born in salt lake city
so if anybody can use the info I gathered to hurt these scam artists MORE POWER TO YOU!
God BLESS America

The place stinks of cigarette smoke, is full of rats and roaches. Who cares if I'm not accepted at this resort? To top it off sales people will knock on the door all day. Not for me.

Oh pleazzze! Todaygetaway.com is just a Godaddy "Domains by Proxy" front for the Villa Group of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They also operate a bunch of other websites under numerous other names geared to the same general industry.
Registrant Name: Gerardo Guerra
Registrant Organization: The Villa Group
Registrant Street: Blvd. Francisco Medina Ascencio
Registrant Street: Km. 3 Local 11
Registrant City: Puerto Vallarta
Registrant State/Province: Jalisco
Registrant Postal Code: 48333
Registrant Country: Mexico
Registrant Phone: +1.3222238383
The Villa Group is a high pressure time share outfit that is using Todaygetaway to get into the traditional vacation market.
So basically they're a bunch of Mexican time share hustlers. If that doesn't inspire trust, I don't know what does.

Sure you did and that's why you came to 800notes. Cause ya know, satisfied customers regularly seek out complaint forums to leave sterling reviews.
Look, you seem to be particularly daft, so I'll break it down slowly and in clear language that even those with a below average IQ can understand:
We know you are a shill. You aren't fooling anyone so much as you are making yourself look a fool.

We`ve booked with Today-Getaway twice and have stayed at Villa Del Palmar in Cabo San Lucas and Cancun. We feel they truly provided us with a wonderful 5 star getaway and delivered on every promise. We went with the intentions of just taking advantage of the GREAT vacation package (9 day getaway for 4 people for ONLY $249!!! All inclusive!!!), but we ended up buying a slice of heaven. :) Give them a try, you wont regret it.
