Debt Collector
I received a call from them today, first it was from Mr. Barnes who stated i owed them a debt of 905.74 for an unpaid payday loan  that I will be going to court thursday if not paid in full by the 1st ( he stated he would Work with me) he worked out a settlement with me that he would accept 250.00 as payment in full. the call got disconnected and I recieved three calls in a row to my personal phone and two to my work phone, I called back and spoke to Bill I questioned the "debt" and asked for written proof to be sent to me via us postal service, Bill became very angry talking down to me saying that they sent me proof in 04/2012 and that he does not understand what I am asking for. I told him that before I paid anything that i want proof that i owe and started telling me that he will send me proof but he is also taking the settlement offer off the account and sending it to the processor, telling me that I will end up having to pay alot more then just the 905.74 that I will be found responsible by the judge because he has documation that states I was sent proof back in 2012 of my debt. he started to tell me that he would win because I am very ill speaking so he will have no problem winning his case plus all the "documation" he has on trying to contact me since 2012. he said that someone got in my ear or i probably read off the interenet misinformed information from "bottom feeders"  and that he does not participate in the BBB because its just a democracy and he will not pay them for "better ratings" I told Bill that I will pay the debt if i truly owe it and that all i am requesting is WRITTEN proof of the debt. the caller disconnected after stating he will see me in court.

I used to work for regional credit solutions. Its somewhat a scam bc nothing happens if you dont pay the debt. They say they will take you to court or send your case to the lawyers that they dont have. They buy old debt in hopes to.collect on it. Honestly dont pay because they cant do s***! They were stupid enough to buy your debt... why would you pay them back? Dont do it

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I currently have gateway holdings group LLC calling me and threatening to summons me to court if I don't pay them within two hours then they called five hours later and said I had one hour left to pay . That I owed 700 for a 200 dollar loan which I never even consented to receive . They said I could settle for 350. Where the hell are they getting these numbers from ? I explained to them that I am pregnant with very low funds and they continued to threatened me with court and 2500 in court fines , saying they were going to come to my house or place of work to summons me . I have done research and everything I find says this company is a scam and that they are not licensed to give out payday loans in Florida . Extremely rude on the phone and gave my personal information to random people that called in regarding it without my consent . Legit companies do not do this . Highly considering hiring an attorney to help me with this . Scared n pissed .

I've been getting calls from Regional Credit Solutions too. The number they call from is in Seattle. 360-850-5921. The number they want me to call is 855-837-9962. I do not answer calls on my cell phone that come up as "Private". The messages have a file number about an upcoming court case & litigation. I need to call before the court date. I added to my list of blocked calls & rejected numbers.

We're continually receiving calls and messages from Regional Credit Solutions, after calling and asking to be removed  from their database. We have told them numerous times they CLEARLY have the wrong number! These people are profane, rude and abrasive for no apparent reason. You would think with the type of available people locating resources, as debt collectors they would spend their time more productively.

There are lots of posts on here about this company under multiple different phone numbers since they keep changing their number. This is just the latest in what seems to be a long line. I wish this site had and option to cross reference using company?s name not just phone numbers that way we could really see how many of us are posting about them! SO far I have found the following numbers associated with Regional Credit Solutions (RCS) previously known at Regional Credit Works or National Credit Works: 855-204-2789, 757-777-3333, 877-216-6040,

You might also want to watch this video from ABC News about this type of scam: http://gma.yahoo.com/phantom-debt-collectors- ... topstories.html

They have called me MANY MANY times.  I answered one time and a woman told me she was looking for someone whom I've never heard of.  I started explaining to her that they call every day several times a day and that this person does not live at this home.  They started to get nasty with me, but I got nastier, so she backed down and said they would remove my number from their "database".  They have called several times a day for several days in a row, since that conversation.  I am usually never home when they call.  Last night, they left a message and a "Case Number" and a number to call back. I called and "MR. AHMED" answered the phone. I was asking him why they were calling me and asking him what type of company they work for.  He asked me for my case number. I told him that I didn't have it and that I had deleted the message.  He asked me for my phone number and name, and I gave it to him.  He said that I do not exist in their system and that they may have been contacting me in association with someone else. I told him that I have NEVEr cosigned or anything for anyone else.  He said no, if they are looking for someone, they will contact that persons references to see if that person is still at whatever address they had given them and/or number.  I was trying to get him to find this supposed person.  I told him that someone from his company called the other day asking for a person I didn't know.  He yelled at me, "Well who were they looking for" I said, why would I remember some unknown persons name?? He then proceeded to try to berate me about deleting their message; to which I screamed in his ear and he hung up on me.  I proceeded to call him back  several times harassing him as he has harassed me. However, it is strange....a few times when I called the phone wouldn't actually be "answered" and i would hear people speaking.  One time, the person who was speaking read off an entire credit card number and it's expiration date and the address associated with the account.  I couldn't believe my ears!!!  This morning I blocked this number, they will never get through to me again; however, I am not sure how i am going to proceed with the information that I heard. Should I contact the BBB? I really want to report them somehow but I am not sure who/how/when/where.

This company called me about a month ago stating that I owed $320 for a loan that I had already paid.   When I ignored their endless voicemails, they called my mother and told her that I would be arrested if I did not make the payment.   My mother unknowingly sent them $320 via Western Union.   They sent me an alleged PIF letter, and all was well.   A month later I get a call from the same company stating that I owe for the same loan.   Mr Barnes, Gloria Irwine or whoever I spoke with told me that I had two accounts, and the second one needed to be paid.  I had to make sure I understood what they were saying so I repeated to them that I had taken out two loans, from the same company on the same date.  They replied yes.  I said okay, and the supervisor (I didn't catch his name) said ok what?  I told him that I know I only had one loan with this company, so I was not going to argue with thim.    He hung up in my face.   These people are rude, tactless, and they need to be shut down.   That is why I'm making it my mission to post on every board I can to expose these  legal loan sharks.    I believe that if enough people ban together, we can file a class action suit against these crooks, because their practices are unethical and they are breaking many of the FDCP's rules including:  harrassment and abuse and false and misleading representations.

I just spoke to my attorney. He is sending them a cease and desist letter. Thanks to someone else from above I was able to get their address. When I attempted to get their address, they actually hung up no me. Although they will be ordered not to call, it appears that this company ignores federal law and continues to attempt to contact you.

This lady at ext 441, release information on people voicemail, and if I understood her correctly, she gave out this person last 4 of her social security number! I told her to slow down so someone could understand her correctly, asked for a supervisor to David, that would not release what town or state he was from, and then he hung up, I called back he said (I am the nicest one here and you will be disappointed if I give you to another person, cause he is meaner that me) Then Edward Stanley got on the phone, said I need to get a job and a life! And you guys are not rude and they need to get someone to discuss cases that are not giving others personal information to!

this company continues to call, 1st under the name of ncw and now regional credit solutions. I filed for bankruptcy over 4 years ago and everything should be settled. most recent voice mail left today said that they have spoken to my mother about this matter.  I work for a major bank and definitely know not to give my acct information by phone to anyone that calls.  I am also going to call my phone co and have them block this number.

I just received a call from this number. The number did not come up on Caller ID, so I let it go to voicemail. The message was from one "Russell" from RCS who claimed I had "a pending file in his office," and that I should or my attorney should contact him.

Could Joe who went to law school who posted above please give some insight on just what exactly I should do? I have half a mind to call him back, but I don't want to give the "company" any ammunition by acknowledging the call. This is the first time I received a message from "RCS." I have received no notice from any party about a debt owed in my name. I would think there are channels that any party looking to collect a debt must go through before a "collection agency" begins to call the other party. The fact that the person gave his name, number and the company name (not to mention his extension) could make a person think this is legit. JRC, please post the outcome of your situation.

Thanks, all!
