It's not the National Rifle Association. They don't do that. I know as I've been a member for many years. It's the National Recovery Assets, or some such organization, that will hound you. I don't answer phone calls anymore with unlisted, unknown, unavailable, or repeats the same phone number. I only answer to area codes I recognize. If it's legitimate, they'll leave a message, and I can return the call.

they have called me wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday and sunday. after 3 rings, hangs up, not available!! i don't answer not available nor private.i would not believe it is national rifale association at al. the other one mentioned would be more like it, and connected withe the OBAMA administration is more like it also, especially using NRA, that would shed disgrace on the NRA, and cause people to  dislodge themselves from the NRA.

I get three or four calls a day from this number. No one is on the other end and they never leave a message.  I want the calls to stop

I have been receiving bogus calls in which the party hangs up
without saying anything.  Last time I got the number:
877-221-0577 called me at 8:40AM on 04/10/2014.  No
voice on the other end, just a long pause, maybe 30 sec
and then a hang-up.

No reason for me to have a debt collector calling so I just
assume they are fishing around for someone with the same
name.  In the past, if someone does talk on the line, I have
been able to get them to stop but then they hire another idiot.

How did you know it was the NRA if you didn't answer the call?

A lot of people saying when you answer they don't say anything.  This is actually their automated dialer system.  They dial hundreds of numbers simultaneously and hope that one of their agent are available when you answer.  They don't care how much it bothers you .. the computer just wants to make sure that the instant they have someone available there are several calls they can pick up.

this is not the NRA.  They identify themselves and show on my caller ID.  They called, asked for me and then hung up.

Call the number back,  it's the National Rifle Association.  I am a member,  thus I understand the reason for the call.  Yes,  they do call a little too often asking for money.

They identified themselves to us as the National Rifle Association. They have annoyed us with too many calls asking for donations. We figured it out that they are contracting out with a call center that also does debt collection. Sometimes the collection techniques get pushed onto us while requesting donations. For example: daily calls, not taking no for an answer, discrediting the opinions of a spouse, and having a tone that suggests we owe them something. This calling center should be way below acceptable for the NRA, and we intend to communicate this to NRA board members.

It is absolutely not the NRA. The only people who would say it is the NRA are those people who are against the NRA. Plain and simple and easy to understand.

I returned the call, it is the National Rifle Association. It was a pre-recorded message. I have added this number to the contact "Do Not Answer" and assigned a silent ringtone to it (that I downloaded from the web). Problem solved.

I called the number back (and several others I've been recording that do the same thing) and it says they are the National Rifle Association. The recording states that they want to give you updates and they're sorry they missed you, press 2 to speak to an associate. I did and asked for them to remove my office's number from their calling list. He kept asking for my name to look up the number, but didn't quite understand it wouldn't be under my name, but my company's name. I gave him the phone number that keeps receiving the calls and he said he couldn't find it under our number (seriously?) and then asked for our address to look it up that way.
I hung up. If you're dialing our number, you have it on record stupid.

I come into the office with 2-5 voice mails of dial tones almost everyday because they call after business hours and just hang up. It's so annoying.

I didn't answer the call from this number I figured it was a donation call possibly from the NRA. My mom is a member of the NRA and they have been calling off and on using various numbers seeking a donation. They  don't seem to take NO for an answer.
